Forty-ninth day (1)

Since Liang Yan received the heavy task from the producer when he told her, “you’re the only one that can sing this song,” for the special episode, she felt a huge burden.

Now,  almost every netizen knew that she was tone deaf and always sings out of tune. They had been eagerly waiting for her finished work, and her song had become their happiness source. Liang Yan fantasized that she would be made into a ghost after the single was released, shivering in fear.

Liang Yan received a lot of private messages from her fans. Although most of the comments under the marketing accounts mainly were laughing at her, “Hahahaha,” in private, the fans sent warm-hearted messages such as, “It’s okay, Yan yan. We’re also out of tune when we sing. We still love you no matter what”, “Liang Yan, I was born tone deaf, and I sing way worse than you. Hahahaha.”, “You’re born beautiful and look so pretty. God must be jealous of you, so he made you tone deaf and sing badly. Don’t fret about it.”, and more.

Liang Yan’s lips pursed as she read the private messages from fans to comfort her. Before, she only counted on the autotune after she recorded the song, now, she really wanted to sing “When I met you,” with her own ability.

She wanted to slap the face of the person who secretly took a video of her, and the person who bought the marketing accounts for blackening her. But the most important thing was she didn’t want to be considered as a ghost!

Unfortunately, she sang without direction, only following her feelings. She hadn’t sung much since she was a child, and she wasn’t familiar with the music sheet, so everything was unfamiliar to her. Jiang Mu was no better than her, too, and his lethality in singing was better than her, but not much.

Liang Yan asked Jiang Mu to look for a vocal teacher for her quietly. After giving Liang Yan a lesson, the first one couldn’t come back because he was involved in a road accident. The second one, in the middle of the class, answered the phone and said his house was on fire. The teacher left in a hurry, and never returned.

Liang Yan stayed indoors, waiting for her third vocal teacher as she didn’t have to shoot today. She was unfortunate. What was the excuse this time, his wife was about to give birth?

As if on cue, the doorbell rang on time.

Liang Yan sprang from the couch, thinking that she must not scare the teacher this time. She dashed to the door, put on her most obedient smile before she opened it.

She said, “Hello, teacher.”

However, when she saw the person standing outside, her smile quickly froze then collapsed.

Lu Lincheng frowned when he noticed Liang Yan’s quick changes of expression, even faster than flipping a book. “Am I not welcome?”

Liang Yan: “……………… ” Nonsense!

……

Lu Lincheng sat on the couch, seriously looking through Liang Yan’s music sheet for her song, while Liang Yan hid in the bathroom, bristling with anger as she called Jiang Mu.

Jiang Mu spoke first in a tone that was asking for credit. “Do you like it? Satisfied?”

Liang Yan crossed her arms. “Satisfied, you oaf! What do you mean by calling for my ex-husband to be my teacher?”

Jiang Mu asked, “What? What ex-husband?”

Liang Yan peeked in the direction of the living room. “Yes.”

Jiang Mu replied, “I obviously hired Wang Yan, a handsome and talented male teacher at the Conservatory of Music! Do you know how much effort I put into ask him? Dealing with him was so hard! I used a lot of my connections to contact him.”

“Really? What’s going on?” Liang Yan canceled the call and returned to the living room, her face a picture of puzzlement.

Lu Lincheng looked up at her, and as if knowing what she was going to ask, told her, “Wang Yan is a good friend of mine. He’s swamped in the next two days, so I’m teaching in his place.”

Liang Yan asked, “How come you have friends everywhere?”

He was friends with Tong Lei in the set, and they were so close that he even went to visit the set. Jiang Mu found a music teacher for her, who was also his friend. Now, that friend was busy, so he took his place. Unexpectedly, Lu Lincheng had a lot of free time.

Lu Lincheng’s expression was severe. “Liang Yan, no matter who teaches you, it will be the same.”

Liang Yan was about to hiss at him, but she hesitated after seeing his face.

Lu Lincheng started as an idol and won the best male singer award. Then, after becoming an actor, he sang theme songs, all of which won the top ten golden songs of the year. At least, there was no better choice when it comes to singing professionally.

Liang Yan suddenly laughed. “I have the time and energy to learn, but I’m afraid you don’t have the guts to teach.”

Lu Lin Cheng: “Hmm?”

Lu Lincheng finally understood Liang Yan’s statement when she started singing.

The live version of the 360-degree surround sound was way scarier than the audio.

Moreover, Liang Yan’s learning attitude wasn’t correct. She sat down as she sang, watching Lu Lincheng’s furrowed brows with a smile.

Lu Lincheng listened for a while and finally couldn’t stomach it anymore. “Stop.”

Liang Yan stared at him provocatively as if she wanted him to drop the sheet and leave because she was at just this level. It wasn’t a big deal, at all.

Lu Lincheng took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down. “I’ll sing first. Listen to me.”

When teaching, teachers must teach the students according to their aptitude. Liang Yan had never systematically learned music theory and vocal techniques. The primary purpose of this class was to let Liang Yan sing this song well. Therefore, it wasn’t realistic to change her tone-deaf nature, and make her able to sing well. He could just teach her to sing this song well.

Lu Lincheng sang When I Met You.

After listening to Lu Lincheng’s acapella of “When I Met You,” Liang Yan’s eyes almost turn green with envy.

She was so jealous!
