.

As if he never felt perplexed, Yoo Gun shoved his hands into his pockets leisurely and continued to speak.

“Jiho, that boy… I tried to have some conversation after a long time, but he was stammering, had no logic in his words, and the look on his face changed swiftly as if showing what he had in mind. I wondered what was going on.”

“…”

Kwon Eun Hyung showed an awkward grin without any words. He might have definitely estimated the atmosphere when Yoo Gun and Eun Jiho confronted each other.

Yoo Gun kept on talking with a smile.

“Honestly, it was quite disappointing to find Eun Jiho behaving like that. He was the only kid who didn’t get discouraged by me, and at the same time, who declared that he would surpass me one day. Of course, I looked forward to that kid. Well, I’ve also considered him as my little brother no matter how he thinks about me.”

“A little brother…”

Kwon Eun Hyung replied with a sigh. It seemed like he felt slightly dumbfounded.

Regardless of his reaction, Yoo Gun continued with a swiveling smile.

“I thought he was going backward. Instead of surpassing me, he seemed to descend way lower than where I was. That was why I treated him more cruelly… but now I realize that it isn’t what I’ve thought.”

“Huh?”

Kwon Eun Hyung’s eyes opened wider.

Yoo Gun looked up at the ceiling.

A girl with a white dress and the view of a silver-haired boy’s back flashed through his mind then disappeared.

Yoo Gun continued, “That boy was just leaving the cocoon in his own way.”

“…”

“Perhaps that was why he asked me a question that I never heard about. It would have been better if I knew it a little earlier.”

Listening to his remark, Kwon Eun Hyung’s eyes dilated. It was after a long time for Yoo Gun to regret something like this and confess such a thing in front of others.

Yoo Gun uttered, “Someone would have changed him just like someone else did it to you, Eun Hyung.”

Now Yoo Gun seemed to know who that person was.

Eun Jiho resembled him so much that Yoo Gun felt sympathy and compassion for Eun Jiho. Someone then simply stopped him from desperately running along his path; that person was getting obvious in Yoo Gun’s head.

He then flaunted a grin.

It wasn’t Woo Jooin, who has been friends with Eun Jiho since they were children. Neither Yoo Chun Young nor Kwon Eun Hyung was that person too. It was a girl whom Yoo Gun had never even heard her name until he returned to Korea.

“Ham Donnie, she’s the one who changed Jiho.”

Kwon Eun Hyung’s eyes widened. Facing his gaze, Yoo Gun showed a serene smile. He then added, “Jiho likes that girl, Ham Donnie, right?”

“Yes…”

Being hesitant for a second, Kwon Eun Hyung soon replied with a faint smile.

“… Though he says that he gave up.”

“I knew it when he started to babble about something like a moment, blah bah blah. I also saw Ban Yeo Ryung and Jiho together, but they didn’t seem to have any chemistry at all.”

Shaking his head, Yoo Gun continued, “If he’s about to drop something like that, why don’t he first go check himself in the mirror?”

Pfft, Kwon Eun Hyung burst into giggles. Unlike the subdued vibe that he was emitting until then, Kwon Eun Hyung was now, rarely, laughing like a little boy.

Yoo Gun stared at Kwon Eun Hyung’s laughter with a grin then turned his head.

He then thought about another person who displayed his unanticipated side just like Eun Jiho. It was his youngest brother, Yoo Chun Young.

Yoo Gun placed his elbow on the balustrade and dropped his gaze while resting his chin on his palm. Kwon Eun Hyung also threw his glance down.

After a moment of hesitance, Yoo Gun opened his mouth again.

“Eun Hyung.”

“Yes?”

“Chun Young responds to other things but keeps his mouth shut when it comes to Ham Donnie, so I thought he didn’t want to show that he was having a crush on her.”

“Yeah.”

“Am I getting it wrong?”

They stood side by side while leaning on the banister and looking outside. A moment of silence swept the space.

Kwon Eun Hyung’s green eyes then directed on Yoo Gun.

Tilting his head, he tossed a question.

“I wonder what YOU think. Do you find it negative, hyeong?”

“I’ve never worried that Chun Young won’t be able to make a girlfriend. If he likes someone, he will definitely confess his crush to that person.”

Thinking for a moment, Kwon Eun Hyung nodded. Yoo Gun continued to speak.

“He isn’t concerned about getting denied or something like that, you know.”

“True.”

“But I couldn’t find any of those signs from him, and he looked fine… so I thought my gut was wrong.”

Blinking his eyes swiftly at Yoo Gun’s remark, Kwon Eun Hyung soon turned his head to the front. He stared at the light gleaming around the garden below the hotel.

“Gun hyeong,” he called.

When Yoo Gun diverted his eyes onto him, Kwon Eun Hyung continued.

“Hyeong, if there’s something that Chun Young wants to get but it’s beyond a very big wall, what do you think about it?”

Yoo Gun blinked, asking, “A very big wall?”

“Yes.”

“Would there ever be a wall like that around him?”

What Yoo Gun just said turned Eun Hyung’s serious face into a bitter smile. Kwon Eun Hyung admitted that he once thought the same as Yoo Gun before.

He also didn’t expect that he would become friends with someone who had such a huge secret; besides, none other than Yoo Chun Young would have a crush on that girl.

That was when Yoo Gun answered back. Kwon Eun Hyung turned his head aside.

Yoo Gun’s side face overlaid a blurred profile against the night sky. His eyes were heading toward the darkness as if they were lost in thought.

“Well… if there’s something like that, I, somehow, understand why Chun Young didn’t confess his love.”

“Eek.”

Flickering his eyes, Kwon Eun Hyung soon let out giggles. Yoo Gun, indeed, easily grasped the subject that Eun Hyung wanted to avoid mentioning.

“A very big wall…”

Repeating those words inside his mouth, Yoo Gun then continued his words nonchalantly.

“Yeah, I do understand since he’s our youngest brother.”

“Huh? Um, yeah…”

Kwon Eun Hyung couldn’t understand why Yoo Gun dropped that sentence. Smiling bitterly, Eun Hyung murmured to himself, ‘Well, then… is it because…?’

Looking at Eun Hyung, Yoo Gun responded with a bright grin.

“Perhaps, Chun Young didn’t confess his affection because he knew that it might be better not to confess.”

“Sorry?”

Not confessing? How could that be the answer?

Giving a pause between his remarks, Yoo Gun revealed a smile. Kwon Eun Hyung paid attention to the following words that Yoo Gun spoke softly.

“You know, Chun Young is a kid who always lives half-intuitive and rarely thinks about complicated or abstract areas. If there’s something that he wants to do, he does it on the spur of the moment regardless of the consequences.”

“Yes…”

Kwon Eun Hyung thought for a while, but there was nothing that he could refute.

Yoo Chun Young was quick-witted, found almost all the answers with intuition, and didn’t think too much, which turned out to be a strength of being trustworthy since he had no chance to cheat on someone; however, at the same time, it also proved that Yoo Chun Young was living his life intuitionally. Kwon Eun Hyung heaved a sigh inwardly.

That was when Yoo Gun continued to speak again.

“Maybe Chun Young can learn about reason or intellect from Donnie.

“Huh?”

“Think about it. Has Chun Young ever attempted to please someone?”

Wondering if Chun Young ever tried that, Kwon Eun Hyung soon shook his head. It was literally what Yoo Gun just said. Nodding his head, Yoo Gun received his response.

“Whether it was a thing or a person, there was nothing for Chun Young to work on to get something that he wanted, wasn’t it? Thus, isn’t this the first time he’s trying to consciously change his relationship with someone?”

“Oh…”

“Maybe Chun Young is learning little by little what he needs this time.”

“…”

When Kwon Eun Hyung was at a loss of words, Yoo Gun threw a glance at him then switched his gaze to somewhere far away.

He then added, “For example, he might learn about reason or intellect, those that I mentioned earlier… or patience and planning. From these, he will perceive what he wants, wait steadily to slowly change the direction of the water flow, and bring the sailboat in the direction of his desire while pretending never to enforce it.”

“Then…”

Yoo Gun overlapped his arms on the banister and placed his chin onto it. He then spoke unhurriedly, “One thing is clear. Our brothers… if we like something, we usually like it till the end. There’s no way we’ll ever gonna hate it.”
