'Little friend!?"

The disciples suddenly stopped from attempting to attack the Howling Wind Eagle and quickly gathered behind the Sect Master.

'So the Sect Master was here to welcome his friend,' many thought.

They clearly heard the words. They had already learned that the Emperor Void had a someone he called 'little friend' outside the sect but they thought it was just an alias and the person was some 'old' cultivator.

The disciples then quickly figured out that the demonic beast was the 'friend's' flying steed. So they waited.

But when Qai revealed himself behind the descending demonic beast, the disciples were shocked. Little did they know, that the reason that the Sect Master would call his 'friend' 'little' was because the friend was in fact a very young cultivator.

And what surprised the disciples more, especially the outer disciples, was the fact that besides being young, the emperor's 'little friend' had the same level of cultivation like most of their senior brothers and sisters—the inner disciples.

And when the Howling Wind Eagle finally landed on the ground, Qai with Shu Kongxu jumped off and and quickly summoned his domesticated demonic beast inside his 'Chui Shi.'

"Ah."

The disciples were once again stunned. Obviously, the Sect had not yet officially introduced the spatial pendant publicly so the sudden disappearance of Qai's domesticated demonic beast left the disciples in awe.

On the other hand, the Sect Master obviously noticed how Qai's flying steed was emitting Wind elemental affinity, so he was raring to hear how Qai managed to do it. And his face could not hide his excitement.

Qai had an inkling on what the Emperor Void wanted to hear but he obviously could not reveal it publicly so he no longer stood on any ceremony and quickly introduced his nephew, Shu Kongxu.

With only a couple of days left before the team deaprt for the Gathering of the Five Great Sects, the Sect Master didn't waste time and quickly invited Qai and Shu Kongxu in his palace as he sent for someone to prepare some tea.

*************

Inside the Sect's main palace, Qai did not beat around the bush and requested the Sect Master to accept his nephew in the Sect and if possible take him in as his direct disciple.

Of course, the Emperor Void already knew Qai's intention for bringing Shu Kongxu with him this time. That was because the young one was obviously emitting the Void elemental affinity. And at mid Earth stage in the Sage realm, Shu Kongxu appeared to have good foundation.

Qai's intention was for Shu Kongxu to personally learn from the Sect Master some techniques in forging skills. Apparently just like in concocting pills, equipping 'Forgery' skill was one thing, but its technical application was quite another.

And with the Emperor Void personally training Shu Kongxu, the Shu family's third generation genius would undoubtedly have unfathomable potential.

"This is a small matter," the Sect Master easily said.

Despite the Purple Mist Sect having thousands of outer, inner and core disciples, the sect nonetheless had only a handful of cultivators possessing the rare Void elemental affinity. So accepting another one was in fact a welcome opportunity.

Without further dawdle, the Emperor Void called for someone to hand over Shu Kongxu a spatial ring containing his Purple Mist Sect robe, cultivating pills and two skill scrolls--'Basic' and 'Intermediate Forgery.'

And because the latter was taken in as the Sect Master's direct disciple, he also instructed someone to bring Shu Kongxu to one of the mountain peaks allotted for inner disciples--clearly skipping outer discipleship despite being only in the Earth stages of the Expert realm.

After Shu Kongxu left the palace, the Sect Master finally inquired Qai about his discoveries with the spatial pendant.

Qai took a deep breath before he began to narrate everything he found out.

Apart from its main function, Qai revealed everything in detail.

First, Qai informed its capacity to house the contacted demonic beast and three other tamed mortal beasts or domesticated demonic beasts.

Second, he revealed to the Sect Master, to the surprise of the latter, of its ability to raise the domesticated demonic beast's cultivation level better than simply feeding it off with the combined cores and herbs.

In addition, Qai also said something about the 'Spiritualize' skill which he learned from the Thunder Prince and gave his opinion about it.

After the Sect Master nodded, Qai suddenly stopped from making any further statements and simply smiled. This surprised the Sect Master.

The Emperor Void, of course was already aware that previously, Qai's domesticated demonic beasts evolved without elemental attributes and he was raring to hear how Qai managed to awaken their elements but he felt that Qai was not about to reveal it. It was understandable since such discovery was no longer part of the Chui Shi's ability.

"Ahem," the emperor suddenly cleared his throat. "Little friend, are you willing to share with me how were you able to awaken the elemental attributes of your other tamed beasts?"

Qai sighed and politely gave his reply.

"Easteemed Emperor," he respectfully answered. "Unfortunately, it is our Shu family's heirloom."

"Eh!?"

Apparently, in the cultivation world, heirlooms were not something easily shared outside the family so the Sect Master was stunned.

The emperor's face twitched a bit in disappointment and felt that Qai was somewhat sly with that one but he obviously cannot just force Qai to spill it. Unless he would apply pressure, the only means he could think of was to give the Shu family generous compensation just for a piece of information.

The Sect Master was about to say something when Qai made another statement.

But since I was the one who discovered it..," Qai quickly added, "I am willing to trade this information with conditions."
