Almost a year later, Qai together with his contracted Lightning black tiger demonic beast Shandian, emerged from closed door cultivation.

Both of them were emiting Sage realm aura. And the first thing that Qai did was to activate his newly learned sage skill 'Hawkeye.'

It was a true skill of marksmanship—a perfect fit for his weapon.

When Qai opened his eyes, the muscles in the eyes adjusted the curvature of the eyeballs to maintain sharp focus and accurate perception.

Right then, his eyesight was estimated at ten times stronger than that of the average cultivator. In actuality Qai was able to spot anything that is about three kilometers away.

Qai then took out his Darkwood Composite Bow and seemingly aimed at somewhere. He pulled the string of his bow as much as he could and infused the arrow with his lightning.

When he released the string, a loud sound echoed all at once around the plateau.

'Zwwoosssshh.'

All of the members of the Shu family got distracted from the noise and immediately went to where it came from.

There they saw Qai who was standing with his bow in his hands.

'Shandian, go!'

Qai mentally instructed his contracted demonic beast to fetch from afar whatever he hit. Shandian immediately jumped off in haste and went in the direction of the arrow.

"What was that about?"

It was Shu Liang who asked. With her new 'Sage' realm speed of Wind element, she was naturally the first to arrive at Qai's location.

"Big sister," Qai was surprised to see her at the sage realm.

One by one, the entire members of the Shu family came.

"Eh."

Qai didn't know that he created a sort of commotion with his little act.

"What's everybody doing here?" he asked.

"Stupid little brother..," Shu Liang was quick to yell.

"What were you doing with a powerful skill?" Shu Wu immediately interjected.

Qai scratched his head and didn't what to answer.

"That was my normal arrow strike," he replied. "It's just that I used it together with my 'Hawkeye.'

Everyone was dumbfounded.

What Qai didn't know was that the skill actually does not only affect the cultivator's eyesight but that it also gives additional power and speed to any long range attacks. That was because the basis of the 'Hawkeye' skill was the innate ability of the demonic beast called 'Black Hawk' who specializes in hunting prey with its powerful claws and speed as it descends from the sky.

In effect, the normal long range attacks of the cultivator's who learned the skill would have triple the power if the attack was made while 'Hawkeye' is activated.

Everyone was cheerfully gathered and showing off their own respective cultivation level when Shandian came back carrying a small-sized horned lizard in its mouth.

"Was that what you were aiming for?" Shu Wei asked.

Qai nodded with a grin while rubbing his nose.

Everyone was in disbelief. Their eyes couldn't imagine what they were seeing for they knew that those lizards could only be found near the outskirts of the Darkwood forest.

"You sure got some 'unique' skill son," his father added.

"Hmmp," Shu Liang smirked. "Wait til you taste the wrath of my 'Whirlwind'."

Qai simply smiled.

All of the members of the Shu family were obviously envious of the newly learned skill of Qai. It truly was exceptional to obtain a unique skill. Of course, many of the family members were still unaware that Qai was still in possession of another unique emperor skill called 'Spiritualize.'

Somehow, even if Qai's choice of learned skills was unorthodox—as in there's no specific specialization—the overall build of his skills was truly impressive.

***************

"By the way," Qai changed the subject.

"Who was the first to enter a new stage?" he asked.

"Ah."

Most of them were also clueless so they also wondered.

"It was me."

The sound was soft.

Everyone looked at the direction of the staggering voice.

It was Old Yu. He was already emitting the aura of someone at the peak Earth stage of the Expert realm. He actually leveled up three times in one year.

Everyone was shocked.

They never noticed in the beginning Old Yu's cultivation since they were focused earlier on Qai's skill.

"Master Shu Wei gave me a pill concocted from a stalk of a thousand year herb," he said shyly.

"Ha ha," Shu Wei chuckled. "Good.. you've finally gone out of your long-time embarrassment.."

Qai was also elated by the results of the cultivation of each member of the family.

Indeed, the one year period the Shu family head had scheduled was evidently fruitful for every member of the family especially to Old Yu who had long been stuck at a very low stage.

"Thanks to all of you," Old Yu replied with a bow. "These old bones can now walk straight proudly."
