Finn blinked slowly and opened his tired eyes, he squinted in the glare of the cold, harsh hospital lights. He had stayed with the girl all night, except for an hour or two when the nurse said she would look after the girl and he had gone home and had a shower. Finn was puzzled by the fact that no one had come to see the girl, the nurse had said her family were a long way from RavenHill. So why had he found the girl here in RavenHill?





Finn was to tired to bother the nurse with questions so instead he asked the doctor if he could watch the girl while Finn went for a walk. The hall was bleak and white, Finn glanced around and saw a sign that read "Cafe". He followed it, there was almost nobody at the cafe, besides a janitor moping the slippery floor and a lady reading a magazine at the counter. Finn bought some sandwiches and sat down at a small table, he glanced up at the wall clock by the cash register. It was 1:23 in the morning, Finn felt like a heavy weight was pulling his eyelids shut, all he felt like doing was getting on one of those hospital beds and falling into a deep coma like sleep. He struggled to resist the powerful urge, deciding it would be best if he went outside to get some fresh air, hopefully it would keep him awake.





Once he was outside Finn looked around in the dark before reaching in his pocket and grabbing a cigarette, he fumbled with the lighter and almost dropped it when he heard the faint sound of footsteps nearby. forgetting all about the cigarette Finn peered into the darkness "hello, is anyone there?" he listened, the air was still for a moment before Finn heard it again. Footsteps coming closer and closer, then they were gone. Finn felt his heart pounding in his chest, he waited for a full twenty minutes before he went back into the hospital, even sitting next to the girl, hearing her slow breaths like the ocean waves going in and out, he couldn't shake the feeling he was being watched... @@
