Chapter 65: If You Like Him, Go And Show Him Your Feelings.

In the night sky, the crescent moon looked like a bow, indicating the tense situation.

In the Yuan Residence, when the candles were already extinguished, the night felt strangely calm.

After the maid helped Yuan Baode change clothes, the flamboyant and lecherous Yuan Baode pulled her hand, harassing her. However, before Yuan Baode could finish his words, a sudden light came from outside followed by loud noise.

While Yuan Baode remained lost in a stupefied state, the door to his room was abruptly opened with a great force. The next second, Yuan Baode’s arm was forcefully twisted and he was roughly pressed against the floor, causing him to let an ‘ouch’ escape from his lips as his face hit the ground.

At that moment, a pair of black boots with white soles and a cloud pattern stood in front of Yuan Baode’s eyes. As soon as Pei Hantang crouched down, he took out the brocade money pouch and sneered: “Yuan Baode, are you aware of the crime you have committed?”

At that moment, chaos reigned inside the Yuan Residence.

The Head of the Ministry of Justice, Yuan Zihuai, and his wife, Madam Huo, who had been resting until now, didn’t even have time to put on their outer robes due to the sudden disturbance. Instead, as soon as they rushed out to see their son, they were both firmly pressed to the ground by the guards of the Capital Prefecture.

Huo Shi’s face was pale as she screamed in terror: “My son!”

Yuan Zihuai then took a few steps forward, and angrily questioned Pei Hantang: “What do you think you’re doing?! You’re trespassing on a private property! Is justice dead?! Let go of my son this instant!”

Pei Hantang smiled and bowed: “Lord Yuan, this is an official matter.”

Yuan Zihuai pointed to Pei Hantang’s face and shouted: “What official matter?! Tell me clearly!”

Pei Hantang wasn’t angry. Instead, after putting his hands behind his back, Pei Hantang explained everything so that Yuan Zihuai would carefully listen: “Then, I ask the Lord to listen with attentiveness. Your son has slaughtered a human being. He is worse than a pig or a dog.” Those last words, Pei Hantang deliberately mentioned with purpose, as if he wasn’t afraid to kill Yuan Zihuai out of anger. “I have the evidence and testimonies stating that your son is the culprit. According to the laws of our Dynasty, the sentence for murder is the death penalty. Since this is an unforgivable crime, we will act according to the Imperial Court. Please, Lord Yuan, don’t disturb the arrest.”

At that instant, Yuan Zihuai’s eyes flashed with some kind of emotion, as if he was well aware that his son had abused his servant. However, Yuan Zihuai was unwilling to give up: “What murder?! What kind of nonsense are you talking about!?”

“Heh.” Pei Hantang coldly snorted, then raised his voice in an imposing manner: “I didn’t expect that although Lord Yuan wears an Official’s uniform, he wouldn’t understand human language. Please return to your room immediately and rest. Don’t disturb my job.”

As soon as Pei Hantang finished speaking, several Guards from the Capital Prefecture stepped forward, dragging Yuan Zihuai and his wife, Madam Huo, towards their wing room.

“Father, Mother!!!!” Yuan Baode struggled. “Go and call my uncle! Tell him to hurry up and come!!”

“Shut up, you brute!” Pei Hantang was so annoyed and tired of hearing Yuan Baode talk, that he ferociously stomped on Yuan Baode. “Take him to the prison carriage parked outside the Residence!”

Yuan Baode was then pulled up from the ground by the Guards of the Capital Prefecture. Although Yuan Baode fought with determination, waving his hands and kicking his legs, it was all in vain. Out of the blue, Yuan Baode saw a person, and his eyes flashed with restrained anger.

It was Mu Zhiming, who was standing by the wing room’s door, looking at him with extreme coldness.

Since Yuan Baode was already at a dead end, and had nowhere to vent his anger, as he was escorted outside, he erupted in anger. Somehow, Yuan Baode managed to break free from the guards’ grip and ran towards Mu Zhiming, with the insidious intention of wanting to bite his flesh and drink his blood. The guards narrowly failed to stop him, but managed to do so just in time. Yuan Baode shouted in desperation: “Mu Zhiming! It was you, wasn’t it? It was you who saved the Coroner, took the brocade money pouch and handed it over to the Capital Prefecture! It’s all your fault, you did this to me!”

Gu Heyan, who was standing next to Mu Zhiming, frowned and took half a step forward, shielding Mu Zhiming behind him. Wen Heyin was also startled when he saw Yuan Baode escape, but when he saw that the Guards of the Capital Prefecture had restrained him again and pressed him to the ground, Wen Heyin sighed in relief.

“Mu Zhiming! What kind of grudge do you have against me?! Why do you have to harm me to such an extent!” Yuan Baode was still struggling. “Let me tell you this, I won’t let you go! You bastard, you dog, you damn dog! My parents, my uncle, none of them will let you go!” Yuan Baode said all this through clenched teeth, which only made his face twist hideously.

On this cold and windy night, Yuan Baode’s face looked truly terrifying.

Wen Heyin, worried that his Young Master might be frightened, hurried to scold Yuan Baode and make him shut up.

However, before Wen Heyin could do anything, Mu Zhiming ran out from behind Gu Heyan and stood in front of Yuan Baode. Not only that, but Mu Zhiming even grabbed Yuan Baode by the neck and began to choke him!

Under the frosty moonlight almost completely obscured by the dark clouds in the sky, Mu Zhiming’s eyes were bloodshot. Even so, his tone of voice was quite unwelcomingly calm. Mu Zhiming brought his face close to Yuan Baode’s and looked him straight in the eyes without fear: “How dare you ask me about my grudge? How dare you?!!!”

‘My A-Yin, who had practiced martial arts since childhood, was in good health and had great strength.’

‘But in two days, just two days….. He could do nothing, but fall to the ground without being able to move a single muscle, freezing to death in the snow.’

‘That bluestone road in the Capital must have been so cold from the snow that kept falling nonstop…. The wounds that filled A-Yin’’s body, how painful they must have been.’

When Mu Zhiming thought of this, he wanted to break Yuan Baode’s bones into pieces, tear his skin off, and throw his remains away to feed the wild dogs!

Yuan Baode, for his part, was scared to death by the roar that had come out of Mu Zhiming’s mouth. The murderous impulse that was born from within Yuan Baode completely disappeared. He was now standing frozen in place, not knowing what to do. The reason being that Mu Zhiming’s anger had erupted from the bottom of his heart, meaning that it wasn’t mere fanfare, but a genuine hatred and rage aimed at Yuan Baode himself.

Right when Mu Zhiming was about to explode with anger, someone suddenly stepped forward and gently held Mu Zhiming’s hands, which were still strangling Yuan Baode’s neck, to calm Mu Zhiming down.

Wen Heyin said: “Young Master, let me strangle him for you. Be careful not to hurt your hands.”

Wen Heyin’s voice brought Mu Zhiming out of his anger, and when he turned his head to look at him, Mu Zhiming was able to notice that Wen Heyin was looking at him with concern.

The voice that called him ‘Young Master’ reminded Mu Zhiming of what was important at this moment: Although their past lives were miserable, he was fortunate enough to recover what he had lost. Fortunately, right now, this was nothing more than an unnecessary panic.

At that instant, Mu Zhiming’s eyes turned red with restrained tears. He even slowly let go of Yuan Baode’s neck, as he muttered ‘I was impolite’ under his breath. Then, Mu Zhiming silently walked away from the wing room. He went to a quiet corner where there was no one, but the moonlight accompanying him in his misery. Only at that moment did Mu Zhiming choke up several times, full of tears. As his shoulders trembled, he was unable to stop himself from crying.

Wen Heyin hurriedly trotted over to Mu Zhiming and asked: “Young Master, what’s wrong with you? Are you alright?”

As soon as Wen Heyin reached Mu Zhiming’s side, Wen Heyin was brought into a hug.

Stunned, Wen Heyin hesitantly said: “Young Master, I……”

“I know, I know.” Mu Zhiming relaxed a little and said: “You don’t like me like that, I can’t bully you and tarnish your innocence. You would rather die than obey.”

Wen Heyin: “Right, yes, yes.”

Mu Zhiming still had tears in his eyes, but at that moment, he couldn’t help but laugh out loud. As Mu Zhiming helplessly shook his head, he heard Wen Heyin call out to him: “Young Master, I….would like to tell you one more thing.”

Mu Zhiming: “Alright, don’t talk. Hold it for a moment and just let it go.”

Wen Heyin insisted: “No, Young Master, I wanted to tell you that even though I don’t like you that way, I’m still willing to go through fire and water for you. As long as you are safe, I will be happy. I am willing to do anything for you without any regrets.”

Mu Zhiming was dumbfounded. When he spoke again, tears fell from his eyes like rain, “I know. I know.”

Not that far away, Gu Heyan hid behind the dark bamboo forest partially illuminated by the moonlight. Gu Heyan silently watched as Mu Zhiming cried in Wen Heyin’s arms. He saw Wen Heyin looking lost as he patted Mu Zhiming’s back and wiped away his tears. In a state of panic, Wen Heyin cried: “Young Master, I’m trying to comfort you. Why are you still crying like this?”

Mu Zhiming replied: “It’s nothing, I’m fine.”

Only then did Gu Heyan turn around and go back to the wing room.

Yuan Baode was being dragged outside by the Guards of the Capital Prefecture. When Pei Hantang saw that Gu Heyan had returned, he grabbed him by the shoulders and asked: “Is your little Gongzi all right? What’s wrong with him? Why did he get angry out of the blue? Was it because of the words Yuan Baode shouted at him?”

Gu Heyan looked at Pei Hantang and asked instead: “Do you like that young Bodyguard?”

“Ehh?! Look what you’re saying!” Actually, Pei Hantang was somewhat embarrassed. Even his entire face was blushing. As he coughed slightly, Pei Hantang said: “Don’t be so straightforward, ah. I haven’t….thought about it yet….”

Gu Heyan asked him regardless: “Do you like him?”

Pei Hantang gathered his courage and replied: “Alright, alright. Yes, okay? Why are you asking me now?”

Gu Heyan: “If you like him, hurry up and express your feelings to him.”

Pei Hantang: “?”

Gu Heyan: “What’s wrong? I’m encouraging you.”

Pei Hantang: “???”

Gu Heyan: “Don’t make me look down on you.”

Pei Hantang: “?????”

‘Good Heavens! Gu Yuyi, who has pissed you off?! Do you have no shame?!!!!’
