"Well, the young lady ran away at a great speed... What on earth happened."

Despite the seemingly worried words, Gerard clicked his tongue inwardly as Lucian entered the room with a grin on his face, seemingly amused by something.

While he had no complaints about Lucian's practical abilities, Gerard did not like this aspect of his personality.

"None of your business."

"Oh, how cold you sound. If you treat the Young Lady with that kind of attitude, she will be frightened, won't she? Even if it was to protect the Young lady."

Gérard stared at Lucien with murderous eyes as Lucien commented with a look of understanding.

However, Lucien shrugged his shoulders in a nonchalant tone without flinching under Gerard's intense gaze.

"I apologize for my rudeness. It's just a habit of mine. The blessing I've been granted is a bit unusual... I unintentionally catch glimpses of others' inner thoughts" Lucien explained.

Although the content of Lucien's revelation was astonishing, Gerard was not particularly surprised. He had somehow anticipated it from this man's suggestive behavior..

"... You've lived well until now"

"Of course, I've kept it a secret from everyone except those I trust. In this day and age, you never know where it might be misused."

Lucien's mouth did not stop even as he moved his hands to neatly organise the documents.

"It's sad, isn't it?"

"... Stop reading my thoughts."

"I apologize. But, as I mentioned earlier, I'm not intentionally trying to read them. I just... happened to see a vision of what you envision in your head. The scene where Lady Ortansia meets a tragic end," Lucien explained.

At his words, the vision in Gerard's head resurfaced once again

"No... I wouldn't... never... do such a thing..."

"Brother... Brother, help me!!"

The nightmare that had been haunting Gerard for years was becoming clearer and more vivid.

At first, he had thought it was just a dream.

But the nightmares continued to haunt Gérard relentlessly.

He had hardly seen them at all while he was away from the Duke's house and at the academy, but since his return here, he has been plagued by them again.

What was even more frightening was that the Ortansia in his nightmares was getting closer and closer to the Ortansia who had grown up.

At some point, Gerard began to think that that sight was a hint of an event that would happen in the future.

Of course, if such a thing happened in reality, he would try to rescue Ortansia, no matter what it would cost Gérard.

But in the dream, Gérard was unable to grasp the hand that Ortansia extended to him in search of protection, and could only watch as she was sent to the decapitation table to end her life.

It was no longer possible to dismiss it as just a dream and say that it's useless to worry about it.

If Ortansia was taken to the decapitation as in that dream, and Gerard could not even rescue her...

The thought of that would drive him crazy.

So Gerard did not want Ortansia to do anything.

If she does nothing and stays quietly in the mansion like she used to do... least, they can help her avoid the sparks that might fall on her with Gerard and his father's help.

Or perhaps he could just tell Ortansia about his dreams.

But Gérard couldn't bring himself to tell her about the nightmare.

Ortánsia would be horrified if she knew that her brother kept dreaming of a future in which she would die.

He didn't want to let an uncertain dream cloud her smile.

Even if Ortansia hated him, the clumsy Gerard had no choice but to do this.

"I agree with Gerard-sama's thoughts. Gerard-sama has been blessed with many blessings, so there must be some meaning to that dream. I'm sure the day will come when the Young Lady will understand.

Hearing Lucien's words of concern, Gérard stared at the door of his office.
