Chapter Thirty-Four: Rosa Wants to Protect the Hallowed Ground (II)

Ladu nodded and immediately began explaining.

“At first look, the symptoms mirror those of sepsis—inflammation, fever, and, depending on the individual, vomiting. Platelets coagulate and blood clots in sepsis; however, the blood did not clot in this case, and the mucous membrane continues to bleed. This is most likely due to histiocytes that have been overstimulated and are now out of whack.”

“Faz’s rampage…”

Rosa mumbled, her fists clenched.

In other words, it’s the same scene where Faz sinks into darkness and is engulfed by karmic fires after losing his best friend Moe Al (Minial).

Rosa thought, quickly recalling the said icon.

Rosa could better piece together Ladu’s explanation, which included technical language she didn’t understand, with the icon in mind.

In Rosa’s mind, the histiocytes (Faz) and platelets (Minial) Ladu was referring to were, of course, portrayed by Ladu and Bernardo.

Rosa’s compression, which she displayed by immediately reciting the icon’s name, stunned Ladu.

“Correct. Platelets are crucial for clotting blood and preventing bleeding, while histiocytes can eliminate foreign enemies. They’re essentially companions. However, Faz’s power to prey on foreign adversaries becomes uncontrollable due to the aberrant stimulation. He begins to devour Minial (platelets), who is essentially his relative and is responsible for preventing the bleeding.”

“Yes, yes!”

Rosa exclaimed, her eyes open wide.

She quickly halted the vision of Ladu slaying Bernando in her mind.

Fighting couples were okay; however, cannibalism was way too much, even for her.

I must stop this at all costs! However, being sexually eaten isn’t all bad… It’s actually ideal! No, no, no. Rosa, keep your cool. This would imply that I am promoting the disease… Ultimately, this should be a family-friendly scene.

Rosa looked up and pondered, her hands pushed against her brow.

“I don’t know what caused the histiocytes to go out of control. I’m guessing it has something to do with magic power, but I’m not sure how that has influenced them. For the time being, I’d like you to focus on reducing inflammation and the body’s cells consuming each other.”

“Do not worry. Although it may be less efficient, if I can properly visualize the outcome, I’ll be able to utilize my magic even if I don’t fully grasp the process.”

Rosa struggled to respond, owing to the fact that her mind was preoccupied with her delusions.

The beauty of magic was precisely the ability to utilize it without understanding all the mechanisms.

Nonetheless, the more precise the comprehension, the more efficient it became.

That’s why Rosa needed all the information she could get.

“Is there something else? Even if it seems trivial, it might help me cast a better spell.”

For example, the appearances of Faz and Minial. Or their interest and preferences. Or favorite situations. With that knowledge, my illusions will be able to blossom!

When confronted with Rosa’s seemingly ordinary question, Ladu responded straightforwardly.

“Oh, yes! When histiocytes receive signals from transmitters, inflammation is induced. Inflammation is a basic defense mechanism for killing infections. In other words, the transmitters act as warning sirens, alerting the body of attacks. Due to the magical power, our bodies may be sounding far too many warning sirens right now. If we manage to suppress those, then maybe…”

“I see…”

Rosa had hoped for a different explanation from Ladu, but she nonetheless took it into account.

Calm yourself, Rosa. Weave all the scattered information together… Picture the world. Let your mind carry you while you work your magic. You can do it.

It was the same situation as when Rosa had a pen and inkwell in front of her.

Simply because of its pointy tip, Rosa would give the pen with the property of a top. On the other hand, the inkwell would be bottom, waiting for the pen on top of the desk. The pen was one of the elites of the stationery world. It was the one that wrote the letters and naturally dominated the inkwell. However, in reality, the inkwell was the dominant one because the pen couldn’t function without the inkwell.

Rosa had such a vivid imagination that she could conjure up such a situation in under two seconds. Now was her chance to demonstrate the true power of her extraordinary imagination.

“…”

Rosa took in a deep breath and then let it out.

As she began to weave her magic, she began to picture what was inside the Apts’ bodies.

Faz is the Aptus clan’s most talented fighter, as well as an attractive man with sharp eyes. Even though all around him fear him, the adorable Minial begins to trust him, eventually making his way into Faz’s heart. When the world is abruptly shaken by warning sirens one day, Faz rises to protect those he loves. However, those warning sirens turn out to be a trap set by the enemies. Faz’s awakening is accelerated due to the sirens’ loud noise, causing him to lose his mind. The sirens that were supposed to inspire Faz to fight instead turned him into a bloodthirsty warrior. The devilish noise continues without end. It enters the ears and overwhelms the mind. Faz keeps wielding his flames, driven by his crazed instincts. The earth begins to burn. The Aptus clan is terrified. The crazed Faz eventually unleashes his fangs on his friends. He goes after Minial, his weakest but most beloved companion. Minial is stunned and unable to move.

Rosa had her mouth tightly shut and her hands raised to the sky.

Finally, the climax was approaching.

But suddenly, Minial purses his lips and stares Faz dead in the eyes! Why? Because he is the ultimate bottom! Minial, played by Bernando, raises his hands in surrender. All to accept Faz, played by Ladu, who is attempting to bite his throat off. ‘Calm down,’ the frail Minial tells Faz as Faz’s fangs dig into his throat. ‘Everything’s okay… You don’t need to be scared.’ Faz’s blood-stained, soulless eyes suddenly widen. As Faz stops moving, Minial straightens his back and embraces him tightly. ‘There aren’t any enemies. The sirens were a trap. Please, calm yourself.’ Minial says and then continues in a tone that only he and Faz recognize, ‘You animal.’

‘AHHH!’ Rosa screamed inwardly.

Bernando’s charms, charming yet bold and mischievous, were fully exploited in this episode.

Ha! How was that line for you! It hints that the two of them are already deeply in love!

“…! This light…!”

Rosa’s interlocking hands unleashed a flood of light.

Ladu was taken aback by the mysterious purple glow, which was actually Rosa’s rotting power in full bloom.

Rosa was trying to soothe the histiocytes and mend the damaged platelets just like the vision was racing in her thoughts.

Faz’s bestial look and fangs are reverting to their original state! He smiles as he looks at Minial, no Moe Al! The flames fade out, and the land regains its green brilliance. Faz eventually comes to his senses and reaches for his companion’s neck with his fingertips! He goes for the wound he himself created! This bloodbath symbolizes Minial’s deflowering!

Rosa had unconsciously incorporated a bestial element to her story, but she couldn’t stop since she was on a roll.

She was pale from over-excitement, and from the outside, she appeared to be using her healing powers while suffering a spectacular payload. However, Rosa herself was merely bathing in the ecstasy.

Faz pales! But Moe Al simply brushes it off by claiming that it’s nothing and that the wound, like everything else, will heal! This is the true power of the world! I’ll bring this tale to a happy ending!

Rosa squeezed her eyes shut.

“Oh, world! Revert back!”

This was Rosa’s first and longest chant.

As Rosa screamed, a burst of wind shook the building and spread throughout the village, accompanied by light, as it entered every door.

Those exposed to the light hurriedly covered their faces, but their eyes widened in surprise the next moment.

That was because the excruciating pain they had been experiencing had vanished.

“This can’t be real…”

Ladu mumbled, his gaze fixed on his hands.

He could tell his fever was dropping without having to measure it.

His pulse also calmed down.

The numbing sensation throughout his body and nausea had vanished as though blown away by the wind.

Blood was no longer gushing haphazardly from the patients’ mucous membranes.

Everyone who had been cowering within the building stood up, amazed.

Ladu’s complexion gradually returned to its natural hue.

“We’re healed…”

It was a miracle.

Ladu moaned and turned to face Rosa, who was sitting next to him.

Her slim back was bent, her eyes closed tight, and her hands lifted in the air.

Her youthful beauty was now severely disfigured, and she let out ragged breaths.

Her blonde hair was drenched and plastered to her sweaty brow.

“Urgh…”

The mumble that seeped out suggested that she was under a lot of pressure.

A world ravaged by fire is not suitable for their love. What they need is a world filled with light, with rich rose fields as far as the eye can see…

Rosa was weaving the ending to her play in her head.

The crumbled earth is patched together seamlessly, and a translucent river flows over it. The Aptus clan members celebrate and offer blessings to the two young gods as they embrace each other with a smile under the clear blue sky.

“Huh? My skin looks better!?”

“Mine too! I feel as if my circulation is better than it was before!”

“My body feels light! It’s like I’m young again!”

The individuals crammed inside the hospital examined themselves in disbelief.

Ladu suddenly panicked and shook Rosa’s shoulders.

“Rosa! That’s enough! That’s enough!”

Rosa, on the other hand, was far too preoccupied with her thoughts to answer.

As the scent of roses in blossom fills the world, the two blush as they look at each other! The skylarks preach the good news by humming their gospel! It’s finally time for these two lovely young gods to share a passionate kiss! AHHH!!!

“ROSA!”

Rosa’s body, however, ended up giving out before the all-important kissing scene, and she fell lifelessly.

Ladu swiftly reached out his hand to support Rosa.

“Rosa…! ROSA!”

He was even more worried than when Rosa had previously jumped in to rescue the icons.

It was all because Ladu was enthralled by this lovely girl who had selflessly given herself to save Apt’s people.

“Damn it! Rosa, wake up!”

“Dear sister!”

“They’re here!”

At the same time, figures rushed in one by one, shouting in desperation.

Bernando and His and Her Highness had been concerned about Rosa, who had gone down to the village and had pursued her.

It had taken them this long to arrive because, after learning of Kamil’s awful disease, they had requested for healer reinforcements from the royal palace, erected a defensive wall around their bodies with Leon’s superior magic power, and restrained Kamil so that he could not flee, and so on.

They all gasped in unison as they saw Rosa lying lifeless in Ladu’s arms.

After seeing Rosa lying limp in the back of the building, the dazzling light that had just spread throughout the whole village, and the countless people with delighted smiles on their faces, the three of them immediately understood what had happened.
