Lu Xiuwen was in Ye Ming’s arms. He turned around to look at Ye Ming. His voice was deep and steady. “You’re not afraid of me anymore?”

A confused expression flashed across Ye Ming’s eyes. But he clenched his teeth and said, “Just now, I’m just…” He paused halfway, not knowing how to continue. If he said he was not afraid, then why did he reject him just now? But if he said he was afraid, that would make Uncle Lu sad…

Lu Xiuwen gazed at Ye Ming’s embarrassed and restless expression. He let out a deep sigh and turned around to draw Ye Ming into his arms again and said, “Forget about it.”

Ye Ming was in Lu Xiuwen’s arms. They had skin contact and he felt the warmth of his embrace. It was an indescribable warmth and he felt a sense of reliability. But at the same time, he was also restless…He felt that he must have gone mad. How could he have such a fantasy about Uncle Lu? This was not his fault, it must be that kiss’s fault!

Lu Xiuwen hugged Ye Ming with his chin resting beside his neck. He breathed in the scent of the young man and slightly tightened his arms around Ye Ming. He’d racked his brain just to bring Ye Ming out in order to create an opportunity for him to get intimate with him. It was already this difficult to hug this person, let alone kiss him.

Because to Ye Ming, he was his guardian; not a lover that he could hug and kiss.

Lu Xiuwen lowered his head slightly. His lips lightly brushed against the necklace on Ye Ming’s neck. It was so light that Ye Ming was not even aware of it. His voice was deep and low. “You’re still wearing it.”

Ye Ming’s mind went blank for a second but he quickly understood what Lu Xiuwen meant. He said, “This is a gift from you…” It was such an expensive necklace. If he didn’t wear it, wouldn’t it show that he didn’t value Uncle’s Lu’s kindness?

Lu Xiuwen’s eyes were filled with tenderness. Wouldn’t it be great if you can stay like this forever? I can forgive you for what you did in the previous life and I will protect you and love you…You will stay by my side forever, right?

Ye Ming didn’t see Lu Xiuwen’s expression and he had no idea what was going through Lu Xiuwen’s mind. He only knew that his heart was beating very fast. Being this intimate with Lu Xiuwen, feeling Lu Xiuwen’s breathing…had made him even more nervous compared to being with An Xiaoqi.

But Uncle Lu was so calm. Surely Uncle Lu was not indulged in flights of fantasy like him. Besides, Uncle Lu acted in such a way purely out of worry that he was cold. He, on the contrary, was utterly confused and disconcerted.

There’s really an issue with him!

Complex and nervous emotions swept through Ye Ming while he was in Lu Xiuwen’s arms. Perhaps because this hug was too warm, he eventually dozed off in Lu Xiuwen’s arms.

Lu Xiuwen maintained the same posture as he hugged Ye Ming. His arms were numb but he didn’t move. It wasn’t until Ye Ming fell into a deep sleep that he lowered his head to lightly kiss Ye Ming’s lips. He was like a thief hidden in the dark, carefully stealing what was not his.

But he was not content with this. He wanted to have this person openly. He wanted to be able to get intimate and have him anytime, anywhere. He wanted him to open his heart and body to him.

He really looked forward to that day to come.

He was already close to losing his patience.

By the time Ye Ming woke up in a daze the next day, the day was already bright and the rain had stopped.

He turned around, wanting to get up, but quickly realized that he was still in Lu Xiuwen’s arms. His face immediately flushed when he touched something hard.

Lu Xiuwen felt Ye Ming move and knew that he had woken up. He loosened his grip as if nothing had happened. His voice was gentle and deep with a hidden smile. “It’s just a normal men’s reaction. What are you thinking about?”

Ye Ming’s face was even redder. He wished he could bury his head into a pit. Uncle Lu had always been a considerate person. Why did he bother to talk about such a thing! This is so embarrassing.

Ye Ming stayed inside the car, dumbfounded. He was still thinking about what Lu Xiuwen meant just now. Did he mean that it was alright for him to overthink because they were not in that sort of relationship so he shouldn’t be bothered about it…or what he had thought was correct so it was alright?

No, it must not be the latter. Ye Ming was still in deep thought. This was the person that he had respected like a guardian since he was young. He was an orphan and to him, Uncle Lu was like his father.

How could he have such thoughts towards him?

Lu Xiuwen had his men bring over a change of clothing. After Lu Xiuwen got changed, he shoved the clothes into the car for Ye Ming to get changed. They took the ride down the mountain and left behind the broken-down off-road car for his other men to take care of.

Ye Ming didn’t dare to look at Lu Xiuwen throughout the ride. He felt that there was something wrong with his mentality. He would get nervous whenever Lu Xuewei got close to him. He even felt that Uncle Lu was intentionally teasing him. But…his rationality told him that it was impossible for Uncle Lu to be doing such a thing. He was in a dilemma.

The event that day hadn’t caused any stir-up. Ye Ming still continued to go to school as usual. Because he had fewer activities with his friends, he had more time at home and he spent most of the time with Lu Xiuwen.

[Ye Ming: Ah! I’m so bored lately. I’m all ready and I’m just waiting for Uncle Lu to confess!]

[888: Hehe, are you waiting to be confessed to or are you waiting for something else?]

[Ye Ming: Bro, how come you understand me so well?]

[888:…] Bah! Who’s interested in understanding a spicy chicken like you?

[Ye Ming: I think after such a long time, Uncle Lu should be ready for the next step?]

[888: Didn’t I already tell you everything? All you need to do is just wait.]

Ye Ming thought happily, Uncle Lu is indeed a steady and thoughtful person. When I’m not able to carry on acting alone anymore, he has already arranged something to assist me.

Exposing his identity in school was only the first step. Lu Xiuwen made him lose his peaceful life and friends, leaving him with almost no room for independence. Then when he was in despair, Lu Xiuwen arranged a new group of friends for him so that his people would be around him. Everything was imperceptibly under Lu Xiuwen’s control.

One could say that he was very possessive and he had planned far ahead.

A few days had passed. One day when Ye Ming was at class, an energetic young man sat beside him, grinning, and reached out his hand, “Young Master Gu, let’s be friends. My name is Zhang Hongzhi.”

Ye Ming already knew about his background inside out. But he still acted surprised and said, “Hello.”

Zhang Hongzhi was a cheerful and humorous guy. His family also owned some assets, so he was from a wealthy family. To someone like him, it was a very easy task to befriend with a pure little rabbit like Ye Ming. It was only because he did not dare to make any move on Ye Ming before.

Ye Ming was very easy to deceive. However, it was not easy to fool around with Lu Xiuwen. There were still things that they didn’t dare to do, and they certainly did not dare to cross the line with Lu Xiuwen. This was also the reason why there hadn’t been any gang of scoundrels beside Ye Ming all this while.

But things were different now. Not only did Lu Xiuwen invest in his family, he also signed several contract agreements and also gave them a lot of advantages. All these were for him to make friends with Ye Ming.

Zhang Hongzhi’s eyes curved up. He wasn’t really handsome but looked decent and friendly. He said, “To be honest, I never knew that Young Master Gu was in our school. Otherwise, I would have come to get to know you earlier.”

Ye Ming felt a little awkward. He smiled shyly. “You’re being modest.”

Zhang Hongzhi didn’t even bother about Ye Ming’s alienation. He smiled as he said, “I’ve invited a few friends tonight to hang out together. Why don’t you come along, Young Master Gu? All of them are from this school. There’s no harm getting to know them.”

Ye Ming hesitated. He didn’t know Zhang Hongzhi well. It was not very appropriate to go out with him.

Zhang Hongzhi had his doubts and he shot a glance at the security outside. He said with a chuckle, “President Lu’s men will be around. What is there to be afraid of? Why don’t you inform President Lu that you will be back a bit late tonight?”

It had been a long time since Ye Ming went out with his friends. Hu Rei and the others had long since distanced themselves from him. Moreover, he did not want to get along with those sweet-talkers. But now…he actually did feel like going out. Lately, it’d been a bit strange getting along with Uncle Lu.

Perhaps Zhan Hongzhi just happened to appear at an appropriate time. Moreover, he was someone from the same circle as him. He should be able to get along with him comfortably.

After much consideration, Ye Ming decided to call Lu Xiuwen to inform him that he would be going out with a new friend tonight.

It seemed that Lu Xiuwen was very concerned and asked for the name of his new friend. Lu Xiuwen also requested to speak to Zhang Hongzhi personally. In the end he finally approved but requested for Ye Ming to be back before ten at night.

Zhang Hongzhi was trembling with fear when he talked to Lu Xiuwen over the phone just now. However, he did not show his fear but rather acted like it was the first time he spoke to Lu Xiuwen. He was able to respond nicely.

After Zhang Hongzhi hung up the phone, he gazed at Ye Ming with a profound look. To be honest, he was extremely shocked at the time when he just received this mission.

There had always been rumours about Ye Ming among the upper class. There were all kinds of versions too. Everyone was curious about Ye Ming. It was just that Lu Xiuwen had protected Ye Ming too well so that they didn’t have any chance to get in touch with Ye Ming.

A lot of the rumours claimed that Ye Ming was Lu Xiuwen’s illegitimate child. Afterall, their parent’s generation all knew that Lu Xiuwen liked Gu Xueya before. It was not a secret. But he never had thought that…Not only was Ye Ming not Lu Xiuwen’s son, he was someone that Lu Xiuwen liked.

How much did Lu Xiuwen actually like Ye Ming, enough for him to protect Ye Ming until he turned out to be such a naive, stupid fool? But now it seemed likely that even President Lu could not stand Ye Ming’s obliviousness anymore? Thus he had arranged for him to approach Ye Ming.

If he managed this well, surely President Lu will not be stingy to his family.

A lot of things went through Zhang Hongzhi’s mind. But he acted as if nothing had happened and casually draped his hand over Ye Ming’s shoulder. He said while smiling, “It’s a deal. I still have something to do. I’ll meet you at the school gate after the afternoon class finishes.”

Ye Ming nodded.

Zhang Hongzhu achieved his goal. He quickly invited a few friends and made reservations for the venue for tonight’s gathering. Previously, the gathering of the rich kids had been in a turmoil. Today he repeatedly urged the others not to bring any male or female partners along, behave in a civilized manner, cut down their swearing and help him serve Ye Ming well.

Ye Ming had never hung out with this group of people before. He was very nervous in the beginning. But after going there, he found that they were very gentlemanly. They took care of him like elder brothers and sisters. He felt at ease getting along with them and he slowly let his guard down.

By the time Ye Ming reached home, Lu Xiuwen had not rested yet. He was still sorting out his work. Seeing that Ye Ming was home, he smiled and asked, “Did you enjoy your outing?”

Ye Ming nodded with a smile.

Lu Xiuwen seemed to be gratified. He tenderly gazed at him and said, “See, I told you. You will get to know some new friends. It’ll be fine once you get used to it.”

In Ye Ming’s heart, he knew that Uncle Lu was right. Previously, he had not adjusted his attitude. But it wasn’t too bad now. Zhang Hongzhi and his friends were not as difficult to get along as he had thought. On the contrary, they were very sophisticated people and comfortable to get along with. Naive freshmen like Ye Ming simply couldn’t resist them.

Since that day, Zhang Hongzhi would invite Ye Ming to hang out practically everyday. Very soon, they became familiar with each other. Ye Ming felt that Zhang Hongzhi was a very humorous and caring friend. They gradually became friends who talked about everything.

Although life was a little different from before, it was considered back to its original calmness. It was just that a new method was used.

Yeah, the only thing that was not yet restored was the strange feeling he had when he was with Uncle Lu. Not only was it not back to normal, it had become even weirder instead. Before, he felt that Uncle Lu was perfect. But now, when he was near him, he would feel a strong male aura. Sometimes, even Lu Xiuwen’s daily actions of taking care of him could make his heart beat faster. He felt that perhaps he could never snap out of it.

Tonight, Zhang Hongzhi invited Ye Ming for dinner again. This time, he had brought along his boyfriend. Zhang Hongzhi’s boyfriend was a handsome guy and he was from the same school as well. The two of them were hugging and kissing each other on the dining table. They were such lovey-dovey that everyone was making fun of them.

This was the first time that Ye Ming saw someone he knew bringing a boyfriend. He saw that one minute, Zhang Hongzhi picked up food for his boyfriend and the next minute, he took a napkin and poured water for him. He was a noble young master but he took good care of his boyfriend in every possible way. He suddenly recalled that when he ate with Uncle Lu, it was also similar to this…and it was even much more tender and thoughtful.

Ye Ming could not forget about the scene today. Finally, he asked Zhang Hongzhi, “So, you actually have a boyfriend?”

Zhang Hongzhi answered calmly, “Yeah.”

Ye Ming was in disbelief. He definitely had not noticed that before!

Zhang Hongzhi laughed and said, “Are you shocked that I have a boyfriend or are you shocked that I liked men?”

Ye Ming was a little embarrassed. But he answered bluntly, “Both.”

Zhang Hongzhi patted Ye Ming’s shoulder and said, “I’ve always had a boyfriend. We had been together for a long time. Even my mum knew about it. I never brought him along before because previously I was not yet that familiar with you, so I was afraid you might freak out. But now that we are best friends, I felt that you wouldn’t distance yourself from me because of this, right?”

Ye Ming shook his head. He had no prejudice against homosexual relationships.

Zhang Hongzhi let out a relieved expression and smiled, “That’s good.”

Ye Ming paused for a while, and seemed to say with emotion, “I saw that you treat him very well. You take good care of him while you’re dining.”

Zhang Hongzhi grinned, “Of course. We’re all big lords. If it’s not because I adore him, do you think I will trouble myself like this?”

Adore…He did it because he adored him. But wouldn’t an elder generation also take care of the younger generation? Ye Ming couldn’t help but overthink. A hesitant expression appeared on his face and he pursed his lips.

Zhang Hongzhi noticed Ye Ming’s expression. He let out a mischievous laugh. “Why? Could it be that you also have someone you like? Or maybe someone who likes you?”

Ye Ming had been in dilemma with the question in his heart for the longest time. At this moment, seeing that Zhang Hongzhi was here, he finally could not hold back and wanted to blurt out everything as if he urgently wanted to get some answers to his questions. But he didn’t want to make it obvious that he had some strange feeling toward Uncle Lu. He hesitated for a while before saying, “Well…Lately there’s a man. Whenever he is next to me, I will feel very nervous. I…”

“You like him,” Zhang Hongzhi said. It was not a question but a declarative statement.

Ye Ming instantly blushed. He kept waving his hands and said, “No, it’s not like that. You hear me out first. We’re not in that sort of relationship.”

Zhang Hongzhi was all ears. “Alright, I’ll listen to you.”

Ye Ming paused to gather his words and said, “Actually…we’ve known each other for a long time. He was a lot older than me and had always taken care of me. It’s just that there was one time when he accidentally kissed me when he was drunk. I’m thinking, could this be the reason why I keep feeling awkward whenever I see him now?”

Zhang Hongzhi was looking at Ye Ming as if he was looking at an idiot. He sighed, “He kissed you and you don’t feel disgusted. After that, you feel awkward and nervous when you see him. If that is not called like, then what is it?”

Ye Ming felt a tremendous jolt in his heart, for he had never thought of it from that perspective before. He’d always liked Uncle Lu, but it was definitely not that sort of affection!

Zhang Hongzhi hugged Ye Ming’s shoulder and stared at his face while he said profoundly, “Brother, your face is already blushing. We are men. Can’t you tell if you like him or not? If you don’t like him, you won’t even be confused, right? If you are confused, that already indicates that you have feelings for him.”

Ye Ming found it very hard to accept this answer. He said, “It shouldn’t be this sort of relationship. I really never ‘liked’ him in that way. I had always treated him like an uncle. Moreover…although he always took care of me, I’m sure he wouldn’t have those sort of feelings toward me…”

Zhang Hongzhi was in high spirits. “Then tell me, who do you usually get along with? I’ll analyse it for you.”

Ye Ming gave it some thought and made Lu Xiuwen’s identity indistinctive. He spoke about how they got along, including the camping incident…

Zhang Hongzhi slapped his thigh when he listened to this part. “Young master Gu! It’s not that I want to mock you. It was obvious that he really liked you! It’s already that obvious. Are you still not able to tell?”

Ye Ming still found it unbelievable. “I know that he treats me very well. But it shouldn’t be that sort of affection, right?”

Zhang Hongzhi let out a perverted smile. “If it was not that sort of affection, why would he have a hard-on because of you? He already had a hard-on just by hugging you yet he still refrain himself from touching you. He already liked you very very much! Hey, now I understand why he didn’t say anything to you, that’s because you can’t get the point!”

Ye Ming was confused. It was as if Zhang Hongzhi had said everything that he never dared to think about. But he and Uncle Lu shouldn’t be like this…

But Zhang Hongzhi didn’t want to give up. He continued with his analysis, “You see, he is a busy man. But he never forgets to buy you a gift when he goes on a business trip. He will bring you out for outings and even take good care of you when having a meal with you. He uses that method to show you his warmth and even bought you that necklace as a gift…Don’t blame me for being honest. Young Master Gu, you are no longer a boy, you are a man now.”

Ye Ming’s heart was all over the place. Uncle Lu liked him?

Zhang Hongzhi said, “You think over it and see if I’m right. Actually, you also feel that he treats you differently, right? Otherwise, what are you nervous when he is close to you? That implies that your subconsciousness also sensed that he liked you. It’s just that you are too familiar with each other and you are closely related to him. That in turn affected your judgment. If it was someone else who cared about you this way, you would have known right from the beginning that he likes you.”

Ye Ming: “…”

[Ye Ming: This fellow is good at talking. Perhaps it was already rehearsed in advance?]

[888: Why? Do you feel sympathetic?]

[Ye Ming: …]

[Ye Ming: I have a feeling that Uncle Lu is about to confess. He’s getting someone to give me an immunity shot before he confesses.]

This completely turned Ye Ming’s world upside down. He couldn’t really accept such an outcome. No matter what, Uncle Lu was the person who raised him. Such a feeling left him feeling immoral and ashamed.

It shouldn’t be like this.

While Ye Ming was still stuck in his wild thoughts, Lu Xiuwen picked up vegetables with the chopsticks for him as usual. Ye Ming gazed at the vegetable in his bowl but he was thinking about how Zhang Hongzhi picked up vegetables for his boyfriend. He acted in such a way because he liked that person…

But Uncle Lu had been taking care of him like this since he was young. It must be because Zhang Hongzhi didn’t know about their relationship, so he made such a wild assumption.

Ye Ming’s heart started to beat faster. He lifted his head to look at Lu Xiuwen’s handsome and profound face. He didn’t know why he suddenly opened his mouth to ask, “Uncle, why are you treating me so well?”

As soon as the question slipped from his mouth, he realized that he must be mad. He wished he could chew his own tongue for asking something that he shouldn’t be asking.

Lu Xiuwen paused his action. His expression changed slightly as he gazed at Ye Ming deeply.

Ye Ming panicked and he was about to lower his head. At this very moment, Lu Xiuwen suddenly put down his chopsticks and lifted Ye Ming’s chin. He took out a napkin and gently wiped Ye Ming’s mouth.

Ye Ming felt Lu Xiuwen’s tender and ambiguous action. His body went stiff.

Lu Xiuwen smiled as he said, “The rice was stuck to the corner of your lips. You’re all grown up, yet you still eat like a child.”

Ye Ming smiled awkwardly. He knew it was him who was overreacting. Really…Uncle Lu was just helping him to wipe his mouth. He decided not to take Zhang Hongzhi’s words to heart because Zhang Hongzhi didn’t understand their relationship…He was simply talking nonsense.

Lu Xiuwen’s fingers that were pinching Ye Ming’s chin were a bit cold. Ye Ming felt a little awkward and wanted to turn his head away. But he noticed that Lu Xiuwen had a tight grip on him. He was unable to escape from his grip. In the next minute…Lu Xiuwen lowered his head and kissed his lips.

Ye Ming opened his eyes wide in disbelief, staring at the face that was only inches away from him. He then recalled the night when Lu Xiuwen pressed him on the bed, kissing him wantonly.

The difference was that, at that time, Lu Xiuwen was drunk. But this time, Lu Xiuwen’s eyes were clear. His expression was calm and steady, his actions were gentle yet firm.

He was very serious and he was kissing him in a very clear state of mind.

Ye Ming’s body was slightly trembling and he even forgot to resist.

This…this couldn’t be real…Uncle Lu kissed him…kissed him in a clear state of mind…

Lu Xiuwen’s kiss was gentle and respectful. It was just two pairs of lips pressing onto each other and there were no other actions. After a few seconds, he pulled away from Ye Ming and gazed at him with his deep profound eyes. He opened his thin lips slightly and said slowly, “You asked me just now why I treat you so well. This is my answer.”

“It’s because I love you. It is not the kind of affection from a guardian to their child but rather the affection of a man toward the person that he likes.”

Lu Xiuwen spoke clearly and his eyes were lucid. He didn’t give Ye Ming any opportunity to distort what he had meant. He had spoken his mind clearly.

Ye Ming was confused. His face flushed red and white. Previously, it was not that he had never thought about this possibility; perhaps it was like what Zhang Hongzhi had mentioned, it did subconsciously come across his mind that it was possible that Uncle Lu liked him…

That was why he was struggling in a dilemma. This sort of feeling had left him terrified, and he was even more terrified of his own reaction.

He was unwilling and had no intention of breaking their existing relationship status that had bonded them for tens of years, for it was already a very crucial part of his life. Lu Xiuwen was a very important person to him. Although he was not his real family, he was closer than real family. It was very difficult for him to accept that now, they had to suddenly change to a different type of relationship.

But Lu Xiuwen’s words and action had made it impossible for him to escape.

Lu Xiuwen fixed his gaze at Ye Ming. His black pupils were focused, tender and affectionate. It was very different from the restrained and concealed expression that he usually had. His gaze was so hot that it could have melted everything. He said slowly to Ye Ming, “I love you. Are you willing to be my lover?”

Ye Ming stared at Lu Xiuwen in shock. He suddenly stood up, knocking down the chair onto the floor. He turned and dashed out!

Lu Xiuwen watched Ye Ming’s silhoutte as he fled in panic. A painful look flashed across his eyes. Was it too sudden? But if he didn’t say it out, would Ye Ming ever understand his feelings towards him?

He couldn’t allow Ye Ming to escape from this anymore. He must declare his feelings toward him. Even though it was a risky move, he still wanted to use this opportunity to force Ye Ming to make a choice.

If he didn’t force him, it was impossible for Ye Ming, with such a character, to take the leap.

In the previous life, he kept hesitating. He couldn’t bear to force Ye Ming and he couldn’t bear to make him feel troubled. He had always endured…but in the end, before he even got the chance to confess to him, he already lost him. Therefore, it was wrong to wait blindly and endure it silently. If you love a person, you must make him yours.

Lu Xiuwen stared in the direction of the door. Ye Ming was already gone. He didn’t chase after him but sat there, waiting expressionlessly.

He was waiting for Ye Ming to give him an answer. In his life, he had come across a lot of choices. It was only that this time, he was in such torment and pain. It turned out that he was scared that he couldn’t get the answer that he wanted…He was scared that he had overestimated his importance to Ye Ming.

But no matter how scared he was, he could only wait.

Ye Ming left the Lu Residence in a hurry. That moment when he looked into Lu Xiuwen’s eyes and listened to his words, he suddenly didn’t know how to deal with it. And because he didn’t know how to confront him, he escaped.

It turned out that Uncle Lu really liked him. He had those kinds of feelings toward him.

At this moment, he recalled the memories of how they used to get along. He recalled how Lu Xiuwen kissed him, hugged him and cared for him. All those had changed. It was no longer ambiguous but rather an undisguised love.

But could he really accept this love? If he accepted this love, his relationship with Uncle Lu would never be the same again. They would no longer be family but lovers….

But…but how can this be?

At this instant, his mind was in a total mess. He didn’t want to think about it anymore. All he knew was this was incorrect and it was not allowed.

The Lu Residence was at the outskirts of the city. He had been walking for a long time and there was not a single person in sight. The night was cold and quiet. Ye Ming was exhausted and he fell on the ground. At last, he didn’t want to walk anymore. He hugged his knees and crouched there with a lost and helpless look on his face.

If he walked away like this, he would lose Uncle Lu. After rejecting Uncle Lu’s confession, could he still accept Uncle Lu’s care for him? Could he be despicable enough that despite already knowing Uncle Lu’s feelings for him and rejecting him, he still continued to enjoy his good treatment toward him?

No, he was not this kind of person.

If he left this place today, it would mean that he would lose Lu Xiuwen completely. He would lose the one who treated him the best in this world, the one who loved him the most. Perhaps they wouldn’t even be able to see each other again.

When he thought about this, he felt his heart throbbing with pain. He couldn’t stop his tears from flowing.

But how could he go back? If he went back, it would mean that he accepted Lu Xiuwen. This was equally as difficult for him to accept. At this moment, he would rather he didn’t know anything. He would rather Lu Xiuwen hadn’t said anything. That way, he could pretend that he didn’t know anything and continue living like that.

Ye Ming rested for a while and continued to walk ahead blankly.

But as he walked, he couldn’t help but think of Lu Xiuwen whom he’d abandoned. He had just told him that he loved him and he had fled because he was shocked. Lu Xiuwen must be so hurt…And he couldn’t be with him anymore and he would lose him. This would sadden him even more.

But if it was so painful and sad for them to be apart, why didn’t they try to be together?

He obviously cared about Lu Xiuwen just as much.

Moreover, if he left Lu Xiuwen, where else could he go? His life, his world, his everything revolved around Lu Xiuwen. He was his everything.

He simply couldn’t live without him.

He was already inseparable from him since long ago.

A few hours had passed. The dishes on the dining table were already cold. The cold moon cast its glow on the entire house, making it appear cold and unlively.

Lu Xiuwen still maintained his original posture, sitting there with his fingers crossed over his abdomen. His eyes were closed, his breathing was calm and steady.

He was still waiting.

If by tomorrow, the person he’d been waiting for still didn’t show up, he would go and catch him back. Even if he hated him, blamed him, he would not let go of him again…This life, let them be trapped with each other like this.

Time passed by every minute, every second. The clock on the wall made a very soft sound. Just when Lu Xiuwen’s heart was slowly getting colder, he heard very light footsteps.

Lu Xiuwen slowly opened his eyes. He pressed his fingers gently and his chest heaved. The person that he had been waiting for finally appeared at the door.

Ye Ming’s frail body was in an embarassing state. It seemed as though he had fallen down and there was still some mud on his clothing. His face was tearstained and he was dazed and weak. He stood there shyly like an abandoned puppy who’d lost its way and  gone to great lengths to get home.

When Lu Xiuwen looked at him, a distressed and tender feeling filled his heart. But he didn’t walk over to hug him and gently comfort him like before. Instead, he was calm and he gazed at him with a profound look and pronounced each word clearly, “Do you understand what it means to come back here again?”

Ye Ming’s clenched fist trembled. His eyes flashed with the expression of him making a difficult decision. After a long time, he slowly nodded his head.

Lu Xiuwen fixed his eyes on Ye Ming. The corners of his lips lifted slightly and his eyes were as deep as an abyss. He said, “Come over here.”
