The Strongest Sect of All Times

Chapter 18: life and death stage

Jun Changxiao did not know the circumstances related to the Spirit Spring Sect, so he asked with a smile, “Something wrong?”

“Of course something is wrong.”

Wei Yinu strode over and his eyes were filled with disdain, “You hit my Spirit Spring Sect’s disciples, so how could you depart so safely?”

“What?”

“He hit a Spirit Spring Sect disciple?”

“The Ironbone Sect attracted trouble!”

“Last year, an eighth-grade sect’s disciple hit a Spirit Spring Sect disciple. In the end, the sect head brought the disciple over to personally apologize.”

“What happened then?”

“The disciple had his cultivation base ruined and he was expelled from the sect, the eighth-grade sect also compensated the Spirit Spring Sect with many silver taels.”

“If you say it like that, then the Ironbone Sect is in trouble!”

The people discussed in low voices and looked over with sympathetic eyes.

The Long Sabre Gate’s deacon coldly snorted. Provoking the Spirit Spring Sect is like provoking Lord Yama. Boy, just wait for your demise

When Jun Changxiao was directing the martial artists, he and the Tiger Roar Sect’s people had not gone. It was mostly because they had just been ridiculing him and did not have the face to seek him for advice.

Now that the Spirit Spring Sect elder appeared, his distorted emotions were stimulated and he hoped to witness the guy be ruthlessly shamed.

“So you were someone from the Spirit Spring Sect.” Jun Changxiao feigned sudden enlightenment and nodded. “Corrent, I hit, I hit…” He quickly calculated and said, “About five times.”

Five?

The martial artists felt their mouths twitching.

Last year, the eighth-grade sect’s disciple had only punched once, but the sect leader had brought that disciple to the Spirit Spring Sect and apologized. You hit the guy five times, there isn’t even a chance at reconciliation!

Wei Yinu coldly said, “Sect Head Jun, since you have acknowledged it, then this Wei must seek justice for his disciple today.”

[Ding! Side mission triggered!]

There was another mission?

Jun Changxiao quickly pulled open the interface and saw that the side mission read: [Teach the Spirit Spring Sect elder, who has come looking for trouble, a lesson 0/1 {Elite Mission}]

“Elite mission?”

As an Earthling, Sect Head Jun had once been a player of online games. One of those games had something called elite missions, which usually made the player deal with small-scale bosses.

Elite missions typically were a little bit difficult, but if completed, offered rich rewards.

Interesting, interesting! Jun Changxiao closed the interface and touched his nose. “Your disciple harassed my disciple. This lord has a compassionate heart and only intended to slightly punish him. But you unexpectedly come here and fucking flap your mouth to talk about justice in front of this lord?”

The surrounding audience were dumbfounded.

The Ironbone Sect Head had even brought out words like ‘fucking’, did he not fear enraging the oposite party and making the situation develop past the point of no return?

One had come looking for trouble, the other wanted to complete the mission.

Return?

That was impossible.

The Long Sabre Sect deacon and the Tiger Roar Gate disciples were secretly happy.

Daring to use foul language before the short-tempered Spirit Spring Sect elder, this guy was absolutely looking for death!

Sure enough.

Wei Yinu’s expression darkened and his eyes twinkled with anger. “Boy, you’re fucking courting death!”

Kacha!

His two fists were clenched and twelve rays appeared around his wrists.

“Tch.” Jun Changxiao disdained, “I thought that a Spirit Spring Sect elder would be some great person, but turns out you’re just Meridian Opening Twelfth Stage trash.”

The people were speechless.

You’re a sect head, but your strength is only Meridian Opening Stage Five, and you think you have the right to say such a thing?

Hearing the word ‘trash’, Wei Yinu’s anger soared. He pointed in a direction and said, “You brat, go with your father to the Grievances Stage if you’ve got the guts!”

Shua! Shua!

The people parted. Roughly ten meters away was a stone platform, about three meters in height.

That was Qingyang City’s grievances stage; each of the four sectors had one. Since martial artists were not allowed to randomly fight in the city, if they had grievances, they could solve it on the stage.

“Elder Wei has initiated a challenge!”

The audience cried out in alarm.

In this world that venerated martial might, a challenge initiation was quite a serious matter!

“Will Sect Head Jun accept the challenge?”

“There is a disparity in strength, he has the right to decline. Although Sect Head Jun has rich martial knowledge, his cultivation is quite low, he shouldn’t accept it!”

“You can say that, but he is still a sect head! Elder Wei initiated the challenge; according to their statuses, he must accept!”

As the people discussed, they glanced towards Jun Changxiao. After all, no matter how they guessed, all the decision-making power was in his hands.

“Sect Head.”

Li Qingyang stepped closer and whispered, “The Grievances Stage can be used as a life or death stage.”

“Really?”

Jun Changxiao’s expression changed.

Li Qingyang looked at Wei Yinu and said, “His challenge shall be received by the disciple.”

Jun Changxiao shook his head. “How can this lord make a disciple brave danger and accept a challenge initiated by an elder?”

As he spoke, he took long strides towards the stage.

“He accepted!”

“Sect Head Jun actually accepted it!”

“With his cultivation, Elder Wei will definitely beat him black and blue!”

The area broke into a commotion.

Among them were people harboring ill intentions and creating a disturbance on purpose, like the Long Sabre Gate and the Tiger Roar Sect disciples.

“Acting unreasonable!” Lu Qianqian’s eyebrows wrinkled.

The Spirit Spring Sect elder was a Meridian Opening Twelfth Stage, but Jun Changxiao was only Meridian Opening Stage Five — with such a huge disparity, wasn’t going onstage courting death?

The new disciples were also worried. Their new sect head was terrific in his sense of knowledge, but his cultivation was low. How was he supposed to face the almost Martial Apprentice Spirit Spring Sect elder?

When Jun Changxiao walked onto the Grievances Stage, no one favored him, not even his disciples.

“Hahaha!” Wei Yinu also walked onto the stage and laughed. “Boy, if you hid in your shell like a turtle, this elder could still have gone easy on you. Since you’ve mounted the stage, then get ready to die.”

“Is that so?”

Jun Changxiao obviously thought otherwise.

This boy is unexpectedly calm. I must show him my strength! Wei Yinu rolled up his sleeves and clenched his fists. His muscles bulged, revealing blue veins running along his arms.

“Elder Wei specializes in physical strength. Without the use of a skill, he can punch through giant stones of 2000 jin!”

“My god!”

The people sucked in a breath of cold air.

Meridian Opening Stage Twelve martial artists, using pure muscle strength, could usually carry a force of 1500 jin — and that was a good upper limit too!

“This is nothing.” A Spirit Spring Sect disciple proudly said, “Our Elder Wei once killed a savage beast comparable to a Martial Apprentice with his bare hands!”

“What?!”

The people were shocked.

A Martial Apprentice leveled savage beast was killed by Meridian Opening Strength — terrifying!

Although the beast he had killed had been injured, seeing the shock on the others’ faces, Wei Yinu’s face showed pride.

But, when he looked at Jun Changxiao, he discovered that the young man had his pinky up… he was actually picking at his nose!

Gah!

The people had frozen, looking dumb as wooden chickens.

On the sacred and dignified Grievances Stage, before such a large crowd of people, this guy was actually doing such a disgraceful thing!

What was worse was that he actually dug a large piece out and flicked it towards the Spirit Spring Sect elder’s feet.

“Aah!”

Wei Yinu seemed to have received some huge shame and roared with anger, condensing strength into his right fist.

Hu, hu!

With his twelfth stage cultivation, ripples of qi appeared!

But Jun Changxiao had his hands clasped behind his back, indifference written on his face.

“Sect Head…”

Li Qingyang looked serious.

The always icy Lu Qianqian also seemed to have a rare moment of worry.

“It’s over!”

“If that guy is hit, he’ll be dead or wounded!”

Bang!

A dull thumping sound echoed through the area and wind gusted, sending dust into the air, sleeves and hems fluttering.
