The Strongest Sect of All Times

Chapter 24: the ironbone sect after repairs

97 contribution points were spent in one night by Jun Changxiao.

There was nothing he could do. Arriving in this world, if he wanted to grow stronger, he had to pay.

“Next, once the sect missions appear, I will use the achievement points to upgrade Sect Construction.”

Jun Changxiao muttered to himself.

There were no side missions and he didn’t know what hidden missions were.

Currently, he could only depend on the promotion of sect construction, raising the membership limit and earning contribution points.

“Sect Head.”

Li Qingyang walked over and said, “There’s no more money.”

“We ran out again?”

Jun Changxiao felt the corner of his mouth twitching.

This kid came to ask for money every day; he didn’t know the concept of saving money at all.

Li Qingyang explained, “Sect Head, the sect is too run down so repairing it is equal to reconstructing it. That’s why we’re spending so much.”

“Okay then.” Jun Changxiao tossed over several bank notes and said, “Your junior brothers and sisters will be here in three days, do you think it can be finished?”

Li Qingyang said, “Should be no problem.”

“That’s good.” Jun Changxiao waved him off, “Go do your work then.”

Li Qingyang left and he sat cross-legged in the garden, starting to cultivate with the Mind-Cleansing Art.

Without contribution points, he could only honestly cultivate the traditional way.

However, a day layer, the speed of the spirit energy condensing was so slow. Jun Changxiao truly realized then that when his cultivation got higher, it became more difficult to increase strength even further!

“Ah…”

He sighed, “If only I had unlimited contribution points, that would be wonderful.”

The next day.

Jun Changxiao did not continue cultivating, but set out for the outer courtyard.

These days, he had only focused on cultivated and had not focused on the sect’s repairs, other than his daily act of handing out more bank notes, he hadn’t paid any attention.

The Ironbone Unyielding Sect was approximately 100 mu [1], divided into the inner and outer courts. The inner court was where the sect head and disciples lived day to day, the outer court was a place where they trained.

When Jun Changxiao passed through the winding cobblestone path leading to the outer court, his expression was suddenly frozen.

Before his eyes, where there should have been an unsophisticated main hall, the area had changed beyond his recognition — vermilion and emerald glazed tiles, carved stone steps with jade-inlay railings!

The support pillars had become pieces of artistic mastery, carved with lifelike flora and fauna.

New pavilions and buildings had been constructed in the outer court, giving it a very majestic atmosphere!

Outside the main hall, at the center, was a large martial arts training field. It seemed to be made of some green stone — with just a glance, it was clear the material was expensive!

Even more flashy was…

The previously empty spaces of the outer courtyard had been converted into lotus ponds and flower gardens, complete with matching pavilions and towers for leisure!

For such a place to be designed so, probably only an architect could achieve!

“This is this lord’s sect?”

Jun Changxiao stood in one place, feeling like everything in front of him was just a mirage.

He was even secretly wondering if he had transmigrated once more, this time transmigrating to the inner courtyard of some imperial palace?

It wasn’t a dream, it was reality!

Because Li Qingyang then came out of the main hall, arriving before him. “Sect Head, are you satisfied with the repairs?”

How is this repairing? This is completely reconstructing the sect! “Satisfied!” Jun Changxiao praised, “Very satisfied!”

Saying that, he set off for the main hall.

As he walked inside, he was shocked once more — the tiles had been covered in luxurious carpeting, while both side of the hall now housed large redwood chairs — very extravagant!

“Sect Head.” Li Qingyang pointed to the seat at the very center and said “Your throne is made of 1000-year-old Chinese cedar.”

“Is that so?”

Jun Changxiao sat down and immediately felt that it was more comfortable than his previous broken chair, which had constantly creaked with ‘ga-zhi ga-zhi’ noises.

He naturally placed his arms on the armrests and praised, “Not bad, not bad!”

This was the appearance a sect should have.

“Sect Head.” Li Qingyang handed over an account book and said, “This details the silver taels spent on repairs, please take a look.”

Worthy of having a good family background; he had systematically noted down all the expenditures for the repairs, creating an account book.

“Qingyang.” Jun Changxiao took the account book and read through it, while praising, “Your performance has made this lord very satisfied—”

His voice suddenly stopped.

Because, when he flipped to the last page of the booklet, he could clearly read the total expenses— 40,650 silver taels!

Jun Changxiao almost lept off his seat. “So much!”

Saying this, he hurriedly checked his storage ring, discovering that he only had a pitiful 300 taels left!

The great Sect Head Jun had been busy cultivating these days. Whenever Li Qingyang came to ask for money, he did not bother and just handed more to him, not caring how much they had spent.

His contribution points had all been used up, his hard-earned silver taels were almost out too.

This made Jun Changxiao howl within his heart, How am I supposed to live like this?!

“Sect Head.” Li Qingyang said, “Disciple also plans to repair the inner courtyard, probably needing 4,000 taels to do so.”

“Puh!”

Jun Changxiao fainted on his Chinese cedarwood chair, foaming at the mouth.

…

Money was a good thing.

Whatever you spent it on was whatever was good!

Under Li Qingyang’s vast transformative spending, the shabby Ironbone Unyielding Sect changed beyond recognition, obtaining the appearance that a sect should have.

But thinking of those thousands of taels spent, Sect Head Jun had the urge to hug one of those ornate pillars and bitterly weep.

He actually did not care too much about money, but the newly registered disciples would show up tomorrow. Wouldn’t those people need to eat, drink, and sleep? Wouldn’t those people need a few sets of sect uniforms? How was he supposed to cover all of that with only a few hundred taels?!

“Ah…”

Sitting on the carved stone steps and jade-inlay railings, Jun Changxiao not only had to worry about obtaining contribution points, but also how to make money in order to support the sect’s daily expenses.

“Qianqian.” In a pleading voice, he asked, “Is there a method of making money fast?”

“Rob,” Lu Qianqian indifferently said. “You’ll quickly earn money.”

Jun Changxiao felt the corners of his mouth pull out and said, “My Ironbone Unyielding Sect is still an orthodox sect, how can we do something so low like that?”

Lu Qianqian responded, “Then sell the sword.”

“This…” Jun Changxiao held his chin and said, “That can be the emergency plan.”

“Sect Head!”

At this time, Li Qingyang walked inside and reported, “Junior brothers and sisters are here!”

“Let them inside.”

Jun Changxiao stood up and dusted himself off, displaying the proper dignity that a sect head should have.

Before long.

More than 20 disciples slowly walked into the sect.

They stood on the martial arts training field, looking at the resplendent buildings, and were all amazed.

Didn’t expect for our sect to have such an expensive atmosphere!

Several thousand bank notes had been spent, how could it not feel expensive? How could it not have some aura?

“Why are there so few of you?” Jun Changxiao knit his brows. “Where are the other disciples?”

“Reporting to Sect Head.” A disciple clasped his hands and bowed, saying, “Some apprentice brothers and sisters live in remote mountain villages, they will need some time to catch up.”

“So it’s like that.” Jun Changxiao understood and said, “Qingyang, assign them rooms.”

“Yes.”

Li Qingyang accepted the command and brought his junior brothers and sisters to the inner courtyard. Just as he was about to step further, there was a weak shout from the sect gates, “Sect… Sect Head…”

Jun Changxiao wrinkled his brows and hurried forward.

Li Qingyang and Lu Qianqian also quickly followed.

These three people arrived at the gates and saw a youth lying in a puddle of blood!

“Junior Brother Sun!”

Li Qingyang quickly crouched down and put a hand on the boy’s pulse, checking the junior brother’s injuries.

The wounded disciple quickly suppressed his pain and weakly said, “S-Sect Head, disciple was part of a group of more than 30 people. We were ambushed by some bandits on the road, junior brothers have been taken prisoner…”

He hadn’t even finished speaking when his eyes closed, a bloodstained note falling out of his hands.

Li Qingyang said, “Sect Head, junior brother has only fainted, the injury is not fatal.”

Jun Changxiao picked up the note and opened it. There was one poorly written sentence: Within three days, arrange the ransom money and head to Black Mountain in order to save your disciples. Otherwise, they will be killed.

“Motherfuckers!” Jun Changxiao’s anger spiked and he crumpled the note. He seethed, “Daring to touch my Ironbone Unyielding Sect’s disciples, they must be tired of living!”
