The Villainess Wants to Get Married (2)

Sophia endured.

She endured the harassment of the Queen and her half-siblings, and lived a quiet life for a year until the King asked her to marry Randall. At the age of fifteen, Sophia received the long-awaited summon from the King.

As Sophia entered the King’s chambers, he sat comfortably on the couch. Smiling, he beckoned Sophia to join him.

Unlike the Queen and the others, the King was kind to Sophia. He must have taken pity on his daughter who had lived away from him for fourteen years. However, her father, the King, is rather timid whereas the Queen is strong-willed and so he cannot resist her. In other words, he was a useless father for Sophia to be able to live comfortably in the palace.

“Sophia, I have good news for you.”

As Sophia sat back down on the couch, the King said in a pompous tone as he offered his daughter some sweets.

‘Good news, huh?’

The engagement to Randall may be good news for the Sophia of today, but it’s bad news for the Sophia who was originally the villainess of the game. The King may have decided it out of good will, but Sophia felt that he himself played a role in making Sophia into a villainess.

“What’s the good news, Father?

As she pretended to be ignorant of the situation, the King told her about her engagement to Randall. Sophia had no choice but to accept the offer.

“Randall is also your cousin, I’m sure he will protect you.”

‘In the game, Randall doesn’t protect me, he condemns me.’

Sophia pouted in her mind, but kept a smile on her face.

“I would be happy if that’s the case.”

“That’s right. Randall just doesn’t know how to act with you yet, but I’m sure he’ll like you once he gets to know Sophia, no doubt.”

Sophia felt confident.

The King probably didn’t notice the cold stare Randall was giving Sophia. ‘What an easy-going King he is.’

‘I hope Randall will like me. Though unlike the game, I don’t know how to capture his heart.’

Sophia let out a small sigh, then remembered what Orion had told her.

“―Look, if the King told you about the engagement, what would you say?”

Sophia gulped, deliberately made a sad expression, and uttered the words as Orion had instructed.

“Oh, dad. I’d like to get married sooner than later. Actually… the Queen is not happy with the idea of me living here.”

‘Behold, the acting skills I developed in my past life in the drama club!’

Sophia moistened her eyes and begged the King.

Then the King clasped Sophia’s hand tightly and suddenly began to cry.

” Sophia..! I’m sorry for giving you a hard time because your father is unreliable..!”

‘You’re absolutely right.’

But there was no way she could say that, and shook her head.

“No, you’re not. I am grateful to you, father. I don’t know how I was going to survive after my mother died.”

“Sophia―!”

The King was so overwhelmed with emotion that he hugged his daughter tightly.

‘He is too easy.’

‘This is why he is under the wraps of the Queen.’

However, Sophia’s performance was still ongoing.

“Father―!”

Sophia hugged the king back and chased him.

“It’s difficult for me to leave you father! But if I stay in the palace any longer, I will only make you suffer… This is the only thing I can do for you..!”

“Yes, you’re right, Sophia! Your father can’t stand to see you get hurt any more than you already are! All right, just wait, I’ll have you get married to Randall in no time!”

Sophia made a guts pose in her mind and pretended to cry, “Father-!”.

Sophia’s begging strategy was successful and six months later, at the age of sixteen, Sophia and the young Duke, who was twenty-three, were married in the cathedral of Glastona.
