Sophia was in the castle library with D’Artano because she had been alerted by Orion that Randall was coming to the room to see her.

If Randall became suspicious and interogated her, Sophia might inadvertently expose herself. Sophia immediately rushed out of her room and took refuge in the library with D’Artagno, who was just on his way to Sophia’s room.

Verhund’s library is spacious, with desks and chairs at equal distance near the windows facing the garden outside.

The sun shining through the window was warm, and Sophia, who had just eaten lunch, bit back a sign of sleepiness.

Even though she had come to the library, she didn’t read any particular book, but simply chatted with D’Artano across from her.

There are few people in the library, but even so, there are other people there besides Sophia and the others, so she couldn’t speak too loudly about anything complicated, so they inevitably ended up whispering.

“As far as I can tell, Carnelia doesn’t seem to be making any strange moves, but it’s odd that she’s so quiet”.

D’Artagno sighs, “I don’t know what on earth she’s thinking,” but even Sophia doesn’t understand Carnelia’s thought process.

“Hey, in the first place, was Carnelia’s offer of engagement formally proposed by Salladhora?”

“I heard that there was an offer from Salladhora, but it was formally turned down through the king. But Carnelia, who was not satisfied with the response, insisted and eventually came over”.

“I see……..”

Carnelia is indeed a mess.

“But then, why does King Verhund tolerate this situation?”. When Sophia asked, D’Artagno laughed.

“I was curious about that too, so I asked Cyril, but the king said, “If this is a political matter, I’ll intervene, but if it’s just a love affair, I don’t know”. IHe didn’t take it seriously. Cyril was annoyed”.

Sophia learned another fact that was not mentioned in the “Snow of Glastona” book. So that’s why Carnelia was able to come barging into Verhund and chase Cyril around freely. Convincing.

However, even though it is a proposal, Carnelia refused to accept Cyril’s straightforward statement that they cannot get engaged and that he has a lover. Sophia would have loved to see her sent back to her country.

‘But if I don’t do something soon and pretend that my memory has returned and I am back in the “original Sophia,” and continue my futile lovey dovey couple plan forever’.

That is right. In fact, the search for “Sophia” is still ongoing.

Cyril is a prince, and he cannot tell the king that he has involved a princess from another country, and Randall, as expected, has difficulty in saying that Cyril’s lover in front of him is his missing wife. Especially since Sophia is pretending to have amnesia.

This is why Verhund’s army is searching the sea and the towns near the coast for Sophia, who is not there.

Cyril doesn’t want to waste taxpayers’ money to search that area, so he’ll think about a solution sooner or later.

“You talk about it as if it isn’t your business”.

“I am, in fact, not concerned. All Cyril asked me to do was to bring him a suitable woman. My being here is not part of the request, so to speak, and I’m only along for the ride because he said he wouldn’t pay me until it’s all done”.

“What, you are involved enough to be concerned about this”

“I’m involved, sure, but that’s no reason to do extra free labor”.

“Oh, yeah. That’s good and irresponsible.”

Sophia plopped down on the desk.

“Don’t be so worried”.

I’m going to be worried. At this rate, I don’t know when I’ll be free”.

“Don’t worry. If it goes on too long, I’ll drown the princess myself, okay?”

“It’s not funny, even as a joke”.

It doesn’t sound funny when the pirate, D’Artagno says it.

D’Artagno laughed and patted Sophia on the head.

“Putting aside the princess, if it’s you, can I kidnap you?”D’Artagno said with a laugh,

“Yes, yes. That’s a funny joke. Thank you”.

The joke was not funny, but D’Artagno might have been trying to cheer Sophia up in his own way.

“I’m going to find something interesting to read to take my mind off things!”

When Sophia got up from her seat, D’Artano chuckled as he looked behind her with dim eyes.

‘Oh, it’s not a joke, you know…’
