Xu XIngchen walked straight toward the bed. Along the way, he glimpsed at the empty couch and tightened his grip on the sword in his hand. He noticed a white inner robe hanging on a large screen, so he angrily swung his sword at it.

With a cracking sound, the screen was split in two and fell to the ground.

Kacha–!

The scene on the bed behind it entered his sight.

A man dressed in black inner robes leaned against the bed, his chest slightly exposed. He had long untamed hair held in place by a jade crown. Seeing Xu Xingchen, he raised an eyebrow.

A sinful hand rested on the waist of his elder brother, who was covered in fluffy white fur!

Fluffy fur?

Xu Xingchen was momentarily stunned.

On the bedding, a palm-sized white rabbit lay sprawled, tilting its head with a confused expression. “What’s wrong with you, breaking into my room in the middle of the night with a murderous look? I was just having my disciple give me a massage.”

A massage?!

Xu Xingchen finally realized, his face turning pale. “You were just doing that?”

Shen Liuxiang’s eyes showed confusion. What else could they be doing besides a massage?

He glanced at Zhou Xuanlan beside him, expecting to see the same confusion in his eyes. They would all exchange puzzled glances together, raising mental question marks together.

Unexpectedly, the disciple didn’t cooperate. The corner of his lips curved in a smirk as he replied, “For now.”

Xu Xingchen’s expression changed, and the blatant implication made him realize that this demon king was indeed ambitious. He looked at the dumbfounded rabbit that seemed utterly clueless and felt his inner energy churn with anger.

Sensing his master’s mood, the Xuan Huangjian Sword’s brilliance intensified, emitting a loud resonating sound.

This sword, a gift from his imperial father, was immensely powerful. Xu Xingchen gripped the hilt tightly and coldly declared, “Then I’ll ensure you don’t live through tonight.”

With his words, a cold gleam of the sword flashed and headed straight for the person on the bed.

Shen Liuxiang’s eyes widened, unsure why Xu Xingchen suddenly attacked, and what Zhou Xuanlan had said that infuriated him.

He suspected that turning into a rabbit had somehow clouded his head, and then he saw a strand of hair fall. Zhou Xuanlan neither dodged nor evaded, and the sword’s energy barely grazed his face.

“Why didn’t you dodge?!”

Xu Xingchen’s expression darkened. The move was seamless, something that would terrify anyone into fleeing.

“No murderous intent,” Zhou Xuanlan raised an eyebrow and suddenly asked, “Have you never killed anyone?”

Caught off guard, Xu Xingchen attacked. The strike looked fiercely vicious, but it had used very little spiritual power, deliberately off-target.

It was as if he was worried about really hurting or killing the person, clearly intended to be a scare tactic.

Growing up in the imperial palace, Xu Xingchen had never faced any difficulties. Even when he left the palace to train, there were always people around, ready to eliminate anyone who posed a threat before he could even act.

Thus, not to mention killing, he had little experience in battles.

Shen Liuxiang saw through this and said, “It’s good not to have blood on your hands.”

While he meant it that way, Xu Xingchen heard it as a blatant mockery.

As a Nascent Soul realm cultivator who hadn’t even killed an ant, it would be laughable if that got out. People would say he had the cultivation but not the prowess, suggesting he should stick to embroidery.

Xu Xingchen’s cheeks turned bright red, and he refused to admit, “Don’t underestimate me! I kill like chopping pumpkins, one blow per person, countless ghosts under my control, specialized in eliminating the insignificant.”

He finished speaking and diverted their attention.

Taking a big step toward the bed, he reached out to pick up the small rabbit crouching on the blanket, sternly saying, “You can’t stay like this either. Come here. I’ll carry you back to your room and tell our imperial father about all of this in detail. He’ll punish you severely!”

Before he could grab Shen Liuxiang, a hand scooped him up into an embrace, supporting the small fluffy body.

“It’s late at night, don’t disturb the Emperor.”

Shen Liuxiang yawned and waved his front paw, saying, “Go back to rest. You’re not a child. You don’t need to sleep with your elder brother.”

“Who said I wanted to sleep with you! Fine, I won’t talk to you anymore!” Xu Xingchen’s face was annoyed as he pointed to the person and the rabbit on the bed. “Don’t make me grab hold of your weaknesses, or I’ll definitely tell our imperial father!”

After saying that, he left angrily. After a couple of steps, he returned to prop up the fallen screen, gave a cold snort, and left without looking back.

“He’s a raw gemstone, just not yet polished.”

Zhou Xuanlan withdrew his gaze, looking at Shen Liuxiang standing between his legs, fidgeting. His expression froze for a moment, and then he suddenly seemed strange.

Shen Liuxiang: “A natural gemstone is also good. Let things flow naturally. There’s no need to guide forcefully. I think that’s what our imperial father meant.”

He was standing in Zhou Xuanlan’s embrace at this moment, his front paws separated by thin clothing, pressing against the firm abdomen. His hind legs were raised by a single hand, and his short hind paws barely reached Zhou Xuanlan’s legs.

As he spoke, Shen Liuxiang unconsciously adjusted his posture. His hind legs moved slightly and accidentally hit something.

He blinked in confusion, then lifted a hind paw to lightly tap it.

When he noticed that the hand holding him had suddenly tightened, Shen Liuxiang paused, slightly widened his eyes, and stood frozen in place.

Zhou Xuanlan’s gaze grew heavy, and he murmured, “Master, don’t move.”

He didn’t need to say it; Shen Liuxiang dared not move!

He stood motionless in Zhou Xuanlan’s embrace, his hind legs stretched straight, trembling incessantly. He felt like he was in detention, not daring to move a muscle.

It wasn’t until Zhou Xuanlan placed him back on the bed that Shen Liuxiang breathed a sigh of relief. From then on, he remained silent, blushing furiously, and buried his entire body under the covers.

Zhou Xuanlan’s expression changed, his eyelids drooping as he looked at the slightly raised part of the bedding. After a while, the hand that had supported Shen Liuxiang’s body rested near his nose.

He squinted his eyes.

The aura on Master was too pure. He could smell it, and other demons would too. Such purity would attract many covetous eyes.

After pondering for a moment, Zhou Xuanlan tore off a piece of his inner robe that was pressed against his chest, turning it into a hairtie in his hand.

Something imbued with his aura would symbolize something meaningful for other demons. At the very least, it would ward off around eighty to ninety percent of them.

Hearing the sound of fabric tearing, Shen Liuxiang couldn’t help but shiver. He stood stiffly, and after a while, realizing that nothing unusual happened around him, his wildly racing heart finally calmed down.

The inside of the covers was dark.

Shen Liuxiang blinked his red eyes and let out a long sigh.

Sigh—-

Did he turn into a rogue rabbit in his disciple’s eyes overnight?

Feeling rather down, Shen Liuxiang spent the entire night in self-imposed silence. The next day, he woke up to find a small soft pillow under his head.

It was a pale blue color, palm-sized, and felt as smooth as silk to the touch. It emitted a refreshing and invigorating fragrance.

The room’s door revealed no sign of Zhou Xuanlan’s presence, leaving Shen Liuxiang clueless about his whereabouts.

Not seeing anyone around, Shen Liuxiang let out a sigh of relief instead. He shook his head, throwing away the title of “rogue rabbit” that had plagued him throughout the night.

Reverting to his true form, he retrieved clean clothing from his storage pouch, dressed himself, and prepared to tie up his long hair. After Zhou Xuanlan had undone his braided hair last night, he left the red hairtie on the wooden cabinet beside the bed.

However, after searching around, he couldn’t find it. He only found a narrow black hairband, likely Zhou Xuanlan’s, sitting lonely on the bedside.

Shen Liuxiang decided to use it to tie up his hair, then drank a cup of tea to moisten his throat before leaving the room.

In the courtyard, he saw a figure pacing back and forth, looking visibly troubled. Shen Liuxiang cleared his throat and called out, “Xingchen, taking a stroll? Do you want to come with me to the streets?”

Xu Xingchen’s gaze swept over. Although he hadn’t made any other movements, Shen Liuxiang felt as if he had heard a cold snort. He then saw Xu Xingchen turn his head away, wearing an expression of wanting to ignore him, before flicking his sleeve and walking away.

Shen Liuxiang chuckled.

A little stubborn, quite the temper.
