Chapter 12 – Tickets

Luo Zhi fell asleep for a long time.

He had many, many dreams that were too good to be true.

He dreamed of painting the sunrise on a canvas atop the peak of a cloud-shrouded mountain, of sitting on a bridge with a bright moon and flowing water while playing the guitar, of strangers who passed by stopping and waving at him with smiles on their faces.

In his dream, he had a squirrel that bounced around his shoulders and head. For all that he was energetic, he was deathly afraid of strangers and would sneak into his collar whenever he saw someone.

Most of his dreams were about the sea. He always loved the sea, with it being so vast and far. He loved that he could not see the end of it. It was as if he could reach another world if he just kept walking.

It was like he had lived a satisfying life in his dream, and when he woke up, he was so comfortable that he didn’t want to move at all.

Luo Zhi popped a strawberry-flavored hard candy into his mouth.

The sweet and sour fruity aroma bloomed on the tip of his tongue. The taste immediately reminded him of those warm scenes in his dreams. He could easily picture those gentle faces he dreamed of. They would stop and stretch out their hands to touch his head. They would help him stand and smile tenderly at him.

Then he would suddenly feel a sharp soreness in his nasal cavity that he had never felt before, as if years of being hurt had finally paid off, causing a fatal crack to appear at a certain point in his body.

Luo Zhi suddenly felt his eyes swell and burn.

For more than ten minutes, Luo Zhi suddenly lost control over his body.

It was like a nightmare in a dream, or as if he was returning to a certain moment in the hospital ward, where he had switched to a distant third perspective without warning, and could only watch himself in a dazed and unconscious manner.

The clear liquid that splashed into his eyes when he was playing with the water in front of the sink was now coming out in big drops, but he didn’t care to wipe them. With each new blink, his eyes would water even more than before.

He saw his body fall to the floor. He was panting heavily, and not only his limbs, but even the strands of his hair were shaking and trembling uncontrollably. It was like being cut open alive spine cramp, or like a fish about to drown in the air on land.

After what felt to be half an hour, it felt as if his consciousness returned to his body, and with it his control of his body was restored as well.

Touching his face, Luo Zhi found that his whole face was wet, and his chest was still throbbing with pain.

Luo Zhi couldn’t help but let out a soft laugh.

… what.

He could still shed tears even in a dream, like a little faucet.

Luo Zhi wiped his face in amusement and unceremoniously laughed loudly at himself in his head for a long time.

He carefully checked and confirmed that the broken glass he was clutching to his chest was not lost, and since he was no longer so dizzy after eating the piece of candy, he slowly sat up on the floor.

This time he was able to move his right leg, but although it was still a little numb and unbearable, it was nothing serious.

Let’s just say he’s tough.

No matter what goes wrong in life, he would close his eyes and not think about it, he would just turn his head and go to sleep.

And if he couldn’t wake up the next day… well he doesn’t care.

Didn’t he always open his eyes again on a new day anyways?

Luo Zhi maintained the position of sitting against the wall for a while, and when he no longer felt so dizzy in this position, he grabbed the side of the bed for support so he could get on his knees. Feeling another wave of dizziness, he closed his eyes and waited patiently for the endlessly spinning roller coaster to end.

He took his time getting up. When he was able to stand, he touch his earlobe and gave himself a super exaggerated praise. Humming the unknown tune he heard in his dreams, he put the broken glass away in the safest interlayer of his schoolbag, and then went to the bathroom to wash up.

While washing up, Luo Zhi took out his phone and looked at it.

After leaving the hospital, Luo Zhi broke his original phone card. Now this one was bought for 100 yuan at a black stall at the end of the alley that would be seized. No ID card was needed, so Ren Chenbai would not be able to track him down for a while.

This is not a long-term solution though. As long as he stays in this city, his whereabouts will be found out sooner or later.

Holding his toothbrush with his mouth, Luo Zhi stared at the strangely pale face in the mirror and was suddenly stunned for a moment.

… Who is Ren Chenbai?

Who is this person in the mirror?

Why are you brushing your teeth too?

This has often happened in the past few days. It seems that the thinking that was originally running naturally will suddenly get stuck somewhere, like a pebble was thrown into a gear that was originally tightly meshed, and then all consciousness suddenly becomes blank.

But he also had a way to remember.

Luo Zhi opened the memo on his phone and reviewed it according to what was written on it. When the little pebble disappeared and his state returned to normal, he added the things he had forgotten to put this time one by one.

Luo Zhi was standing in front of the sink, phone in hand as he added some more things to the memo word by word, when several unread messages popped up at the top of the screen.

Clicking on the message, and his eyes lit up.

There was a reply for the script he put up for resale.

What Luo Zhi wanted to resell was the script that was filmed with great difficulty and prepared to be given to Luo Cheng, which was almost ready to be completed.

Because it was a personal gift that he wanted to give to his younger sister, he didn’t use the public account, and instead chose to use all the money he had saved in his personal account.

It is also because of this that the ownership of this script does not belong to Huaisheng Entertainment, but to Luo Zhi himself.

The price Luo Zhi offered was a boat ticket.

It’s not an ordinary boat ticket, it’s a super invincible luxury giant cruise ticket. Tickets are extremely hard to get. Even though the price is staggeringly high, they are still sold out every time the tickets are released.

Luo Zhi has been greedy for a long time. Originally he wanted to spend a lot of money to have fun and buy it as a birthday present for himself.

On the day the tickets were released, Luo Zhi set a series of alarm clocks, but ten minutes before he used his public power for private use in the name of holding a small meeting to lead the managers of Huaisheng Entertainment to kill and grab tickets in a mighty way, Luo Zhi tried to relieve his tension by casually swiping through the Moments that was shared between his circle of friends.

In the last five minutes before the tickets were released, after swiping through the Moments, Luo Zhi picked up the script that Luo Cheng wanted no matter what.

The cruise ship will berth at the nearest port in a week. If he couldn’t get a ticket this time, he would have had to wait until next year.

Luo Zhi didn’t have any hope at first, but decided to try his luck anyways.

Unexpectedly, someone actually came through.

He suddenly seemed to have another goal worth fighting for. He no longer wandered aimlessly, but seized the time to wash himself clean, changed his clothes and sat down at the table.

When he clicked on the private chat interface, Luo Zhi’s heart was still a little excited, beating loudly in his chest.

Luo Zhi clicked on the first unread message. It was a very mature studio, and the person in charge of the script procurement contacted him.

No tickets, but promised to forward the full script for the original price he paid at the time.

Luo Zhi clicked on the second unread message. It was a large-scale film and television company, and the person in charge of the resources department came to contact him.

No tickets, but a transfer fee of 10% on top of the original price, allowing him to retain referral rights for a non-principal role.

Luo Zhi clicked on the third unread message, it was the manager of an artist who did not want to be named, and there was no ticket…

[Since you intend to transfer the script, it means that you are not well-off.]

Most of the brokers have a wide network, and it is not difficult to find out who the script that was auctioned off at a high price belongs to. Every message they send seems to mean something: [There is really no need to be angry.]

Luo Zhi sighed lightly and put down the phone.

He forgot what he was doing again, and sat in front of the table in a daze for a while before realizing that he wanted to exchange the script for a boat ticket.

What is there to persuade him?

He just wants to go to the boat to play.

Luo Zhi tapped the screen in a daze.

He was lying on the table with his chin nestled comfortably on his arm, and gently drew circles on the phone with his other hand.

After drawing an unknown number of circles, Luo Zhi finally put down his phone, and got up to pack his things instead.

It was probably because he had a lot of things to think about all the time that he forgot that he had to take his time when getting up. Since got up in a hurry his right leg was unable to immediately support him and gave way, causing him to fall down.

Luo Zhi fell to the ground together with the chair, and the back of the chair hit his back heavily. The lights before Luo Zhi’s eyes went out for a few minutes without warning.

When the field of vision recovered, there were already many messages on the phone that fell beside him.

[It is recommended to consider selling, the price can be negotiated.]

[Other equivalent resources can be exchanged.]

[A PR team can be provided.]

[It is recommended to think about it some more, plan for the long term, and come to Japan.]

Luo Zhi suddenly took the phone.

His eyes were still softly bent, as if he didn’t know discomfort or pain. He really didn’t know, and tapped the screen with his dexterous fingertips: [Won’t think about it, don’t plan to.]

The person on the other side was obviously a little stunned by this answer, and almost forgot the business-like rhetoric when he replied: [Why?]

Luo Zhi gave a light “huh” and thought for a while, putting the phone on his forehead.

Why?

It’s probably the same reason as when he sneaked out of the hospital without doing a full-body examination.

If it doesn’t work here, change to another place.

If it doesn’t work again, try a different place.

If it doesn’t work anywhere, then go and see what kind of world is at the end of the sea, and see what that world is like.

If it still doesn’t work, then he will really have to rest.

Before he dies, he really wanted to meet someone who could smile at him, wave to him, and say hello to him ah.
