Just when he was about to quit Weibo, ‘Weibo’ above his head twitched the corner of its big eye uncomfortably.

“What’s the matter?”

Wen Fan stepped forward and took Weibo in his arms. Its big eye with red cockscomb headgear twitched for a long while before stopping.

Wen Fan sensed that something is wrong with Weibo. He checked and found that there were suddenly a lot of empty accounts with incomplete information created in Weibo. However, these accounts were able to post messages.

The topics that they posted were regarding celebrities in the entertainment industry receiving unfair treatment and the shutting out of celebrities from the entertainment industry. Some of the terms used were a little extreme that could be reported once posted. The topics were somehow linked to Mingxi Entertainment and there were also hints about the boss of Mingqi Entertainment abandoning celebrities for not willing to play along in his game of ‘unspoken rules’.

This instantly became sensational news. The crowd who were eating melons while reading on Weibo didn’t stop eating but started another round of melon eating. Someone even pointed out that Ke Yanan might be the ‘abandoned child’ that was mentioned in the post for refusing to give in to the ‘unspoken rule’.

The other topic was an explanation on Ke Yanan’s post yesterday. The post explained that he was just simply giving a brief breakdown about the plus points of all the fine details and black technology of ‘Compagnon’.

Netizens from related industries all forwarded the core functions of ‘Compagnon’ that were leaked. Some even researched the various possible methods and settings of the gameplay of ‘Compagnon’.

Wen Fan doesn’t even need to guess who is behind this. There’s only one person who is so keen to bring down both Mingqi Entertainment and Yuancheng Technology.

Based on the selfie that Ke Yanan uploaded, Wen Fan was certain that Ke Yanan posted the post from his home. Wen Fan was able to track his IP address and grid his location accurately through the internet. Sure enough, he saw Ke Yanan through the camera on his computer and he was staring nervously at the computer.

His once handsome face looked particularly haggard without any makeup.

Ke Yanan seemed to be drained of energy overnight. However, there was a weird and scary light that glowed in his eyes when he stared straight at the computer screen. Even though Wen Fan knew that he couldn’t see him, his gaze still made him feel uncomfortable.

" "

However, Wen Fan did not forget his goal.

He tracked Ke Yanan’s IP and mailing address to search for all the contents that he sent out from yesterday until today using that computer. His search landed him on a newly opened marketing company – Huazong Jinxiang Marketing Company.

It is a new marketing company that has just been established a year ago.

Judging from the post published by Ke Yanan, the two are working for mutual benefits. Ke Yanan let Huazong Jinxiang Marketing Company help him to make a comeback and help him to destroy Lou Wei’s Yuancheng Technology by destroying their plan to release ‘Compagnon’. In addition, the marketing fee that Huazong Jinxiang Marketing Company asked for, turned out to be 1 million only.

Ke Yanan is now standing in the teeth of the storm. In order to make a comeback, he had pulled some complicated strategies to influence others. However, the price that Huazong Jinxiang Marketing Company asked for is significantly lower than the market price. No matter how Wen Fan looks at it, it just seems…unrealistic. In fact, it seems more like a charity price.

He continued to dig deeper into the Huazong Jinxiang Marketing Company by tracking down its location, IP address, as well as communication location when Ke Yanan posted the message. Wen Fan successfully entered the intranet of Huazong Jinxiang Marketing Company and he was able to truly understand the company’s internal data.

He discovered that this company is actually a foreign-funded enterprise. All their employees were foreigners and the number of employees in their organization is very odd. A company with a capital reserve of thirty million dollars only has a total of fourteen employees.

It looks like…a luxury empty shell.

Wen Fan’s first reaction was that Ke Yanan had been deceived. But when he looked at the constantly rising new and empty accounts on Weibo, and then looked at the posts that they released regarding the celebrity who was threatened by a certain entertainment company in Country Z, the ‘reasonable analysis’ of how Ke Yanan’s financial sponsor threatened and suppressed Ke Yanan and the action of how they published the detailed content of ‘Compagnon’ to different platform companies and personal Weibo homepages.

He wasn’t so sure that they were really some scammers.

Wen Fan is a little skeptical.

Could it really be that they are a charity marketing company?

Wen Fan carried the UC squirrel and the little red fox from Firefox web browser from the APPs shelf. The white cheetah from ‘CM Browser’ saw Wen Fan’s action. It leaped next to Wen Fan from the APPs shelf.

It appeared strong and healthy with a nice body curve. It is definitely the most handsome cheetah that Wen Fan has ever seen.

As soon as the CM Browser approached Wen Fan, the other browsers next to Wen Fan began to tremble. UC’s little squirrel is still doing okay, but Firefox has already curled itself up into a big furball.

Wen Fan had no choice but to suppress his desire to touch the cheetah. He uncurled Firefox and then carried the few browsers. He started to check the information of Huazhong Jinxiang’s employees via the browsers. However, he was only able to gather some detailed information on a few employees that were from Country Z, there was only limited information on the upper management staff. The only information available was that they were from Country A, their names and how much capital they had invested.

Wen Fan wanted to check for more information on the internet. However, he quickly realized that he was unable to log into the internet!?! Not only that, but he also realized that he couldn’t access Bing or log into some information websites.

His system capabilities can only be used within the country! Moreover, the moment he clicks opened the webpage, even if it means doing it manually, he still couldn’t enter the webpage.

This discovery made Wen Fan aware of the limitations of his abilities for the very first time. The ears on his head trembled, the tail behind him went stiff, and his heart cramped a little.

Just when Lou Wei was about to take a short break, he turned his head and saw Wen Fan holding the little fox and little squirrel on the screen, leaning against the white cheetah, scratching his head.

He appeared anxious.

Lou Wei pulled his office chair closer to the mobile phone, and asked in a gentle voice, “What’s the matter?”

Wen Fan was still very focused on thinking about this Huazhong Jinxiang. He was startled when he heard Lou Wei’s voice.

He turned around to look at Lou Wei and quickly explained his findings while clenching his fist angrily, “Darn, I can’t even go over the firewall!”

Lou Wei thought for a while, “Let me do it.”

Lou Wei opened the browser with his computer and Wen Fan watched as he entered some firewall prompt codes and kept switching to new networks.

At first, Wen Fan could understand what Lou Wei was doing in order to turn off the firewall. However, as time passed, Wen Fan couldn’t understand what Lou Wei had entered. Perhaps, it’s because of the restriction to access the internet, he simply couldn’t read those inputs in a foreign language at all.

It’s similar to reading Chinese characters but not understanding the meaning.

Lou Wei sat in front of the computer with his slender yet powerful fingers constantly jumping on the keyboard. The computer screen switches every two minutes.

Even though Wen Fan couldn’t understand how Lou Wei switched the network, he could understand what he’s trying to do, “Are you hacking the internet system?”

Lou Wei replied in a low voice, “Otherwise, we won’t be able to dig into their information.”

Wen Fan was in a daze as he watched Lou Wei’s swift hand movement, “So, you’re a hacker?!”

Lou Wei responded with a deep smirk, “A game developer who’s bad at hacking is not a good programmer.”

Wen Fan, “…”  Makes sense.

Ten minutes later.

Lou Wei stopped working and stared at the computer desktop with his furrowed brows. After hesitating for a moment, he turned the computer screen to Wen Fan, “So this is it.”

Wen Fan turned his head to look at him, “What’s wrong?”

Lou Wei fixed his stare at a certain paragraph of foreign text on the screen. His voice turned ice-cold, “Those foreigners are members of the IRS International Reactionary Organization.”
