Wen Fan tried his best to suppress the burning sensation on his face. He hid the tail behind him in between his legs and turned his face away in unease.

Lou Wei who he thought was not paying attention to him immediately said to those staff, “Are you done with your break?”

The female employees exchange glances. They thought that Lou Wei was embarrassed because they showed his pictures around, so, they quickly returned to their workstations without a word.      

Wen Fan let out a sigh of relief as he dangled his tail and sat on the floor. He stole a glance at Lou Wei again. When he noticed that Lou Wei was not looking at him, the blush on his face gradually died down and he felt an unspeakable disappointment swept over him.     

He felt a little odd about the feelings he was experiencing now. However, scratched his head and decided not to give it much thought anymore. He took out the small tv and he started watching it with his back facing Lou Wei. The penguin who had been hiding behind the screen also came out to watch Bilibili with him. 

While it was watching TV with Wen Fan, the penguin suddenly felt a chill down its spine. It turned its head around and saw Lou Wei staring at Wen Fan without blinking. Before it could turn its head back, it noticed Lou Wei staring at its wing that it placed on Wen Fan.

Lou Wei furrowed his brows immediately and his eyes turned cold.

The rest of the day passed by very quickly with the busy preparation for ‘Compagnon’. Previously, Wen Fan was worried that with the quick update of the news on the internet, the popularity of ‘Compagnon’ would drop rapidly within a week.

However, it was lucky that Lou Wei’s prediction earlier on was correct. After Ke Yanan’s incident, there was no other big news on the internet and people once again thought about ‘Compagnon’ from Yuancheng Technology. Now that they’ve learnt about ‘Compagnon’ gameplay and core ‘avatar scanning’ technology, everyone discussed it openly on the internet. On the fifth day, some of the netizens could hardly wait any longer and started asking about the release date on Yuancheng Technology’s official blog. And at the same time, they also wanted to know more about the game.

Other gaming companies who were competitors of Yuancheng Technology were also having internal discussions about ‘Compagnon’ technology.  

Even Gao Qing Technology who previously supplied plug-ins for Lou Wei’s ‘Heaven Dream’ were also discussing the ‘avatar scanning’ of Lou Wei’s new game ‘Compagnon’ during their internal meeting. 

Gao Yuan, the boss of Gao Qing Technology even questioned the employees of the designing department loudly in the meeting, especially targeting the Head of Department of the designing department, Si Yu who was seated in the frontmost, “Didn’t you say that you’ve recruited a lot of outstanding newcomers this year? Now that Lou Wei’s so called…how do you pronounce this bunch of english words?! Erm, Compagnon? Can’t you even replicate the avatar scanning of this Compagnon?”     

Gao Yuan said as he tossed the files in his hands regarding Compagnon in front of Si Yu. It made a loud noise when it landed on the table. Everyone in the meeting room was looking at Si Yu as if they were watching a movie. They had no intention to help him out at all.

The astute looking man in his thirties stood up immediately and bowed as he apologized to Gao Yuan. He still looked temperamental, but his eyes were a little too small. When he narrowed his eyes, the corners of his eyes would lift slightly, making him appear a little arrogant and harsh. However, his apologetic words were delivered flawlessly.

But Gao Yuan doesn’t buy this at all. He continued, “The rose passcode didn’t even cause any stir up last time. You clearly said that Yuancheng Technology received the plug-in with restrictions. However, they never top up their investment nor requested us to fix the issue with the new patch. This is simply impossible!” He snorted coldly, “That time, Lou Wei didn’t even have the plug-in to develop a new patch, however, they released a new patch the next day. How is it possible that he didn’t come looking for you for the issue with the plug-in? Unless, they already resolved the issue with the plug-in or…they already deciphered the what you called that…the rose passcode.” 

Si Yu wasn’t able to lift his head up to the criticism. The gazes from everyone in the meeting room made it even more unbearable. But what’s most unbearable was this clueless fat pig in front of him who was as dumb as a pig could manage a company as big as Gao Qing because he was born lucky!

Si Yu clenched the muscles on his cheeks and gazed at the shiny floor. He apologized to Gao Yuan again. Although he began to grow disdainful, he still continued to say, “Boss, I guarantee that although we are still unsure what is the core of Compagnon, Yuancheng Technology certainly can’t produce realistic anthropomorphic effects. To be honest, there is no such technology available in the world now. How is it possible they suddenly made a breakthrough in their technology since they had never published any relevant research in the previous two years?”

Si Yu lifted his head to look at Gao Yuan, smiling, “And boss, I have arranged someone to get into Yuancheng Technology. Don’t you worry. I will definitely be able to get the core of their technology before their official release.”

At this instant, everyone who was sitting back, enjoying the show, was dumbstruck. Some of them looked put on a heavy expression. One of the men couldn’t help but speak loudly, “Si Yu, you must be bluffing, right? Why are we unaware that you’ve already made some arrangement?”
