It wasn’t until Lou Wei swiped the screen to the last page of the desktop that he saw Wen Fan.

Wen Fan sat around with the characters of ‘Honors of Kings’, ‘Love Nikki-Dress UP Queen’, ‘Food Language’, ‘Touken Ranbu’, ‘Arksnight’, ‘Honkai Impact 3rd’ and ‘Azur Lane’. The eight of them were seated around two tables and were playing mahjong together.

Kagura from Onmyoji was learning how to dance from Shiranui.

The penguin was blowing its suona energetically.

The moment Lou Wei turned up the phone’s volume by a little, he heard the ear-piercing sound of the suona from the speaker.

It was rogues of all kinds running wild.

The sea cucumber cooked with leeks escaped from the game with the dumplings. It leaned on the wall as it said in a low voice to Baili Souye beside it who was trying hard to help Old Arthur peek at other people’s decks, “The early bird gets the worms. But the birds that I raise never need to get up early. As long as you follow me, there’s no need for you to wake up early too.”

Baili Shouye listened to its rants. He endured for a long while before he finally couldn’t bear it anymore. He lowered his head and stared at his skin. The ears on top of his head flicked, “I am a Vermillion Bird.”

The sea cucumber pointed to Nakoruru who practiced shadowboxing with the knight from ‘StarKinight’, “What about her?”

The girl in a red and white dress glared back at it with wide eyes. She threw a bird right on top across its head, “I am an eagle!”

Before Lou Wei had a chance to look at Wen Fan’s deck, he heard little Amia from ‘Arksnight’ relieved her deck, “ next to him, and said, “All terminals, I calling Mahjong.”

All the surrounding APPs characters immediately began to cup their fists and congratulate her.

When Wen Fan was about to congratulate her, he turned his head and noticed Lou Wei outside the screen. He quickly got up from the mahjong table and walked back to the home page of the desktop. The penguin immediately sat down to take his place.

Wen Fan returned to the home page of the desktop. The noise of the other APPs disappeared immediately. Lou Wei raised his hand and rubbed the tiny man’s blonde hair. Wen Fan subconsciously rubbed his head on the screen.

Neither of them took the initiative to break the silence, but there was no awkwardness in the silence.

Wen Fan couldn’t help thinking about the time when he first came to Lou Wei’s phone. Whenever they fell into silent mode, they would feel extremely awkward.

And now, even if the two of them didn’t speak, they still feel relaxed and comfortable with the silence.

They remained silent until they reached home. Lou Xia went on a field trip with her classmate and would only be back after a few days.

Lou Wei and Wen Fan were the only ones left in the house. Lou Wei took Wen Fan to the kitchen and started cooking.

He placed Wen Fan on the mobile phone holder next to the chopping board. The height was exactly the same as Lou Wei’s line of sight. Wen Fan hugged his knees and sat on the small stool that the penguin took out and looked as he looked at Lou Wei chopping the vegetables.

It’s true indeed that good-looking people look good regardless of what they are doing. The man who looked fierce and difficult to approach, rolled up his sleeve, cutting vegetables on the cutting board. His slender finger pressed on the potato, his right wrist moving up and down rapidly. Every action looks elegant and noble. It was indeed a pleasant sight.

Wen Fan felt that the time gradually slowed down, and Lou Wei’s movements turned into slow motion, and every frame revealed the warmth of home.

Wen Fan suddenly felt as if he was back to when he was a child, back to the time when his parents were still alive. Every day he went home, his mother would cook dinner for him in the kitchen. His father went out early and returned home late every day. He spent very little time at home, but he never felt unhappy. The love from his family made him felt warm every day.

It wasn’t until that car accident during his high school time…

Wen Fan blinked, suppressing the sourness in his nose. Lou Wei had already marinated the meat and cut the potatoes and is ready to start cooking. The moment he lifted his gaze, he saw the clouds gathering over the tiny man’s head.

The sun from ‘weather’ on top of the phone screen hid behind the APP shelf with lasagna tears hanging. It watched as the cloud enveloped Wen Fan. Then there was a loud rumbling, followed by lightning. The thunderstorm came crashing violently, hitting on the desktop around Wen Fan.

A silent gust of wind howled wildly across the screen. The APPs on the desktop hugged each other to keep warm. The red scarf of the penguin who moved to the home page with Wen Fan flapped wildly in the wind, slapping its chubby face. It struggled to shift its body to hold onto the APP shelf above its head to stabilize its body.

Lou Wei raised his hand to adjust the position of the clock that was almost turned over by the violent gust of wind. He put down the chopping knife in his hand gently.

He said gently, “What’s the matter?”

Wen Fan wanted to say that he’s okay. But when he saw the rain pouring wildly around him, the words that he intended to said were stuck in his throat. He had no choice but to honestly said, “I…I missed my parents.”

Previously, when Lou Wei filled out the hospitalization paperwork on behalf of Wen Fan’s family, he already learned about what happened to Wen Fan’s parents. Now, when he heard Wen Fan’s words, he could immediately understand his feeling. He thought for a while, “What sort of food do your parents usually cook?”

Wen Fan’s nose was still sour, even his eyes were moist. He looked at Lou Wei with tears welling in his eyes, “Pickled vegetable fish.”

“Okay.” After Lou Wei finished frying the vegetables. He turned on the stove again and took out a few slices of fish from the refrigerator.

Wen Fan watched his actions, “You want to make pickled vegetable fish?”

He didn’t wait for Lou Wei’s reply and said quickly, “Thank you, but you don’t have to. Because even if you do…I can’t taste it.” He’s just a bunch of data in the cell phone now. Even if Lou Wei cooked pickled vegetable fish, he won’t be able to eat it. It’s a waste of Lou Wei’s effort.

Although…Although he really wants to eat it.

However, the man outside the phone didn’t give him a chance to quibble. Lou Wei said directly, “In that case, let’s treat it as a practice. You can guide me. Once you are able to eat, perhaps, the taste that I cooked might suit your taste.”

Wen Fan blinked and didn’t know what to say for a while. No one had ever said anything like this to him. Wen Fan calmed down before nodding. The complex decorative design on his satin shirt moved with his movements, reflecting the lights around it.

He stared at Lou Wei’s hands and said after a long while, “Then… don’t forget to add in the kimchi.”

Lou Wei listened to him and twitched his mouth. He said in a low voice, “Okay.”
