When Wen Fan woke up, he found himself lying on a carved wooden window. The bedroom’s interior decoration was romantic and comfortable, it was also filled with a modern twist. It was completely different from his room that was like a dog house.

Wen Fan stared blankly at the room that he was sleeping in for a long while. However, he still could not figure out where he was.

He got off the bed, wore the shoes beside the bed and opened the door to a spacious living room.

Spacious is definitely the correct description for it. Wen Fan compared the living room to his own house. It was at least five hundred square feet. The only disadvantage was…

He lifted his head to gaze toward the roof and then ——

His gaze met with a pair of eyes staring coldly at him.

Wen Fan, “…”

It was as if the Director of Teaching was sticking his head from the window to look into the classroom.

Lou Wei tried to force a smile, “Do you like the new house?”

It was a pity that for a man who was used to putting on a cold face, this expression was indeed very challenging for him. The muscles on Lou Wei’s face were twitching and he looked as if he was a boss of a gangster concealing his fury.

Social anxiety patient – Wen Fan, was scared out of his wits., “!”

“…I like it”

Fortunately, Lou Wei realized that he was not good with this expressed. He quickly withdrew his smile but looked more approachable instead.

He still remembered that Wen Fan was a real human. He was careful with his choice of words so that Wen Fan could feel the respect, “Penguin and Fireman 360 took you inside the house. “Humanoid’ can customize their roof. You had set it to enclosed mode so we cannot see you from the outside.”

Wen Fan looked above his head at the ‘roof’ that was completely empty. He tried chanting ‘enclosed mode’ in his heart. Sure enough, the roof that was not there started to appear. It was like an ordinary roof, covering the entire room.

It instantly blocked the view path of Wei Lou looking from the outside.

Wen Fan was speechless.

Did he just become a mobile phone software or did he enter a fairy tale world…

Wen Lan strolled in the house for a long while. “The Sims” game deserved to be known as the game that was closest to the actual life of a human. All of one’s needs were inside the house. He could even play games.

Wen Fan checked on every room before he went outside. Outside the door was the mobile phone screen that he was familiar with. The moment he closed the villa’s door, it automatically shrunk into the APP that was on the top-most of the screen.

The QQ Penguin beside him saw him coming out. It walked over with the scarf around his neck and hugged Wen Fan’s lower leg, rubbing against it crazily with red hearts emitting from his eyes.

The little red dot on its head was gone. It seemed like Lou Wei had already read the message it received.

Wen Fan lifted his head and stared at the time on the screen and noticed that it was already one o’clock in the afternoon. He had been sleeping for about four hours.

He stared at Lou Wei who was outside the screen. He had just finished with the last document and he turned to the side and met with Wei Fan’s gaze.

They didn’t talk and they were suddenly awkward.

Eventually, Wei Lou started the conversation, “Wen Fan, I can help you to inform your parents about your condition now” (so that they won’t be too worried).

But before Wei Lou could finish his words, Wen Fan shook his head, “There’s no need for that. My parents are not around anymore.”

“…,” The words that Wei Lou wanted to say got stuck in his throat immediately.

“Sorry.”

Wen Fan waved his arm, “It’s okay.”

His parents passed away in a road accident many years ago. He was already past a young age; although recalling it would still make him unease, he wouldn’t be too sad about it.

The conversation just started but it was once again back to silence.

The atmosphere was getting rigid.

Wen Fan saw a crow with six black dots floating across the top of his head.

“……”

How can it be so vivid!

Luckily, someone suddenly knocked on Wei Lou’s office door, breaking the awkward atmosphere between the two of them.

“Come in.” Wei Lou said.

The next second, Wen Fan saw a youth about Lou Wei’s age with gold hair, coming through the door.

He raised the file in his hands and said, “Wei-ge! Later at thirty…One.., One! Thirty! The meeting can start.”

The youth stood a distance. He could not see Wen Fan who was inside the mobile phone. Wen Fan saw Lou Wei picked up the mobile phone that he was staying in. He quickly sent a speech bubble to Lou Wei, “Is it appropriate for me to be in your company’s internal meeting?”

The lofty man immediately said without any hesitation, “It’s okay. I don’t feel at ease for leaving behind.”

Wen Fan didn’t say anything at once.

Lou Wei’s voice was deep and cold. It was not as gentle as other people’s and it was even a little cold and rigid. But to Wen Fan, it was heart-warming than anyone’s words> he opened his mouth for a long time but was unable to say anything. It at been a long time since someone said ‘I don’t feel at ease’ to him.

The person who came in reminding Lou Wei for the meeting was Zhao Mengke. Just as he spun around to get to the conference room, he vaguely heard Lou Wei said something.

He turned his head around to find Lou Wei lowered his head gazing on the phone, “Wei-ge, did you say something just now?”

Lou Wei lifted his eyes and stared at him emotionlessly, not saying anything.

That pair of tiger eyes could send a chill down one spine without any expression.

Zhao Mengke quickly waved his hands, “Okay, don’t say it.”

Why is it that those highly eligible bachelors on the magazines all looked decent? Their President Lou looked nothing like someone who designed games but rather looked like a boxer instead.

Wen Fan never bore with Lou Wei’s cold glance before so he could not comprehend Zhao Mengke’s nervousness. He had not got over Lou Wei’s remarks, his heart was still beating madly. He clung on to the phone screen and saw himself being placed inside Lou Wei’s pocket and followed him into the conference room.

The conference room was already filled with staff. There were even some with nowhere to sit but just stood at the door. Lou Wei took out Wen Fan from the pocket and placed him on the table.

Lou Wei sat at the front of the long table in the conference room. No One was able to see Wen Fan inside his mobile phone. After all the meeting participants arrived, the meeting commenced. Wen Fan listened to their discussion regarding Lou Wei’s LouV gaming studio’s recent gaming planning schedule and the few games that were still under research.

As he was listening, he realized that the mobile phone was actually placed flat on the desk. However, he could see the condition of the entire conference room. It turned out to be that he was connected to the room’s surveillance camera via the internet. So he was able to see the image of the entire conference room through the surveillance camera.

…This is an unbelievably good life.

The image from the surveillance camera was shown in front of his eyes. But Lou Wei who was outside the screen could not see it. QQ Penguin could see the image of the surveillance camera that was shown in front of Wei Fan. It slowly walked beside his leg and stretch forward to see. The kangaroo from Deliveroo also hopped forward, peeping onto the screen as it chewed on a burger,

But Wen Fan was a standard programmer, aside from designing software, he was not concerned about the meeting’s agenda. He looked at the conference room. A dozen of employees took turns to talk about the progress of the game development in standard technical terms. They even showed all sorts of data charts and financial graphs.

Wen Fan felt her eyes went numb. He totally did not understand a single thing.

He simply shifted the image to one side and pulled a small tv from Wei Lou’s desktop APP. He carried the TV to the main screen and started watching.

A pastel ‘bilibili’ logo flashed across the small TV and it started to broadcast all kinds of videos, animes and movies.

QQ Penguin dragged a brown sofa behind him. A human, a penguin and a kangaroo sat on the sofa watching the small TV in front of them. They waved their hands to choose the channels using their consciousness. This was the image that Lou Wei saw when he lowered his head.

A human, two animals, sitting on the sofa with their back facing him with a TV playing ‘bilibili’ in front of them. The scene was harmonious indeed.

Lou Wei’s brows that were tightly locked when he heard the finance department providing the update of the company’s finance loosen slightly. He didn’t realize that the expression on his face had already become gentle.

Zhao Mengke who was sitting on the right, a meter apart from him could not see his mobile phone screen. But he could see Lou Wei lowered his gaze to the mobile screen with a gentle look. He had never seen that gentle look on his eyes before!

Zhao Mengke looked at Lou Wei’s assistance Lin Xiao who was sitting across him. Both of them felt something was not quite right.

Zhao Mengke gave an eye signal to Lin Xiao, Is Wei-ge in love?

Lin Xiao was also puzzled, I don’t think so. I didn’t notice it two days ago.

Lou Wei held a special family background. He had been building his business since First Year of University, making money madly. He was simply a workaholic who wished he could split a day into two.

But this was the first time he saw Lou Wei not paying attention in a meeting. Usually, this was impossible.

However, when Zhao Mengke was still guessing what Lou Wei was staring at, he saw Lou Wei frowning and his face darkened. Because Wen Fan turned off the TV.

It just took Wen Fan two seconds to realize a very critical issue- the TV was muted!

The sound of the mobile phone came from the speaker outside the screen. But Lou Wei’s mobile phone was set to silent mode. Even if they were watching TV, it’s going to be a silent movie.

The feeling of watching a silent movie was exactly the same as eating rice without putting soy sauce on it. Bland and tasteless but pity to discard. Wen Fan gritted his teeth as he turned off the tv. The QQ Penguin and Kangaroo beside him also sighed, exhaling two small bubbles that were like two pieces of mushroom clouds.

Lou Wei who had been looking at Wen Fan’s action from behind saw him turning off the TV and he immediately figured out the issue. But before Lou Wei managed to say anything, the three other directors in the meeting talked about the issues on the new games that they were doing research on.

Wen Fan also heard the stern voice appearing suddenly from outside the mobile phone. He quickly hugged the Penguin and turned around to look at the image. On the monitor, the few people looked like youths in their thirties.

They were frowning as they looked at the proposal in their hand, “Chairman, you ever raised a question on the capital investment on the new RPG mobile game. If we are to go according to our plan on collaborating ‘Heaven’s Dream’ with the surrounding tourism industries next year, preparing for this end of year ‘Heaven’s Dream’ online conference and the budget allocation for New Year Eve party. If we are to top up additional funds into developing new games, our reserved cash will decrease. But if the new games are not making a profit, it is very likely to impact the capital turnover for other games.”

Wen Fan recalled the figure for last year’s revenue  that he saw on the internet for ‘Heaven’s Dream’. It was over tens of billions of dollars. Are they still having concern over capital turnover?

But Wen Fan didn’t understand all this anyway.

He could only saw Lou Wei’s face which was already cold getting tighter.

“MOBA online games have been popular for ten years. Within ten years, RPG online games will also become popular. It is different from A-RPG role playing games and TPS action games. The players can get rid of the plot line and solely rely on leveling up and developing the main character to experience the game. It is more suitable to the concept of fast consumption, short entertainment and the spiritual demands of young people toward 2D characters or 2.5D characters.”

“The ultimate goal of ‘Heaven’s Dream’ is to become the world’s first online game that can operate with hologram. But it is still a long way to go to develop a hologram online game. So we’re going to develop another 2D or other dimensional character that others would love. It can be in a game of developing the persona of their mobile phone companion which is just nice to fill in the gap of their recent game release.”

Wen Fan also agreed to Lou Wei’s words. But there were still many others in the conference room that were still considering the issue of investment capitals.

After Lou Wei finished speaking, a lot of people started to whisper their discussion on the budget expenses for the new RPG game that Lou Wei had proposed. They couldn’t come to a conclusion.

Wen Lan also saw the game proposal on Lou Wei’s computer. When he saw Lou Wei’s design in detail, he felt it was very interesting indeed. To be honest, RPG persona development game was available many years ago. But it has not been popular.

It’s nothing more than an additional voice chatting system with a face in the mobile phone. Aside from basic language communication and changing of 2D outfit, there is nothing new about it.

There was even a gaming company who designed an upgraded version that enabled the game’s persona to interact with the desktop’s alarm clock and linked the persona to the calendar so that it had the ability to inform the user on their schedule.

But it was merely leveling up on details, there were not much changes to the basic functions. But the persona development game that Lou Wei designed was taken from various mangas, animes, movies and even purchased copyright from real celebrities to design a compatible persona for mobile phone platforms.

The affection level for both parties could be upgraded through continuous communication and entertainment with the persona. Thus opened up different game’s ending. It’s simply like bringing your beloved Prince Charming home.

If they bought the copyright of anime goddesses and certain male celebrities, and put them into the mobile phone. Wen Fan had no doubt that those boys who are fond of 2D goddesses and girls who are chasing over stardom would go crazy from excitement.

However, besides the speech design is a little challenging for this sort of game, there is no need for a grand story-line design and there’s also no need for lots of background design. The game was actually a good additional investment to cater for supplementary profit.

But Lou Wei’s estimated capital was clearly written on the computer. Because they still needed to buy the copyright for the image of the 2D persona and real person, the estimated cost was not low. It was a whole ninety million; nearly a hundred million dollars.

Wen Fan felt that this estimated price was still a minimum price range. Afterall, there were some famous celebrities whose image copyright was more than ten million per person.

The few directors discussed it and as expected, they did not agree on it. From another perspective, this game is highly dependent on market perception.  If the celebrity or 2D character was not as influential as predicted, it would not be able to attract fans and the target audiences of the game would be greatly reduced.

Wen Fan saw Lou Wei frowned deeply. He closed his eyes and thought for a while. Suddenly, he had an idea. Lou Wei who was beside him muttered in deep thoughts.

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to take in others’ advice. On the contrary, he had to consider more aspects. Since a lot of people do not agree on the game’s proposal, he started to think of a new feasible approach to make the proposal work.

Just at this moment, a message suddenly popped out from Lou Wei’s phone.

[Z Nation Lottery: Congratulations on your successful purchase of today’s lottery ticket. Your purchase number was 11 14 07 25 03 12. Please log on to Z Nation Lottery’s website to check on the winning information. Thank you for your participation and support. – Z National Lottery Headquarter.]

Lou Wei was startled because he never bought lottery tickets before. After he closed the short message page, he saw Wen Fan who waved his hands frantically at him on the screen. The QQ Penguin beside Wen Fan even held a red alert signboard, signalling him to look at Wen Fan. Lou Wei immediately understood what was going on.

He recalled what the system told him when he was updating the Quick Ball system – his Humanoid Quick Ball System can help him do anything on the internet.

A human and a system gazed at each other through the mobile phone screen. Lou Wei felt touched and he linked his phone to his computer and switched on the projector.

Everyone in the conference room saw that the projector that was connected to Lou Wei’s computer suddenly switched on. President Lou who was just discussing the new gaming proposal had actually opened the website for the lottery ticket in front of them.

Zhao Mengke’s eyes twitched. What is Lou Wei trying to do?

Before he managed to question Lou Wei, he saw a line of numbers in the middle of the lottery webpage, showing this month’s winning numbers.

“11 14 07 25 03 12”

Before everyone in the conference room could react, they saw Lou Wei open the message on his phone, projected on the projector through his computer.

It was exactly the same line of numbers. Everyone opened their eyes wide. Lou Wei used his phone to register his phone number and identity card number on the lottery website. The projector on the screen immediately displayed the message from the website.

[Congratulations. You have won the first prize with a cash prize of 99.99 million dollars. Please kindly bring along your identity card to Z Nation Lottery Headquarter within seven working days to claim your prize. Claim will be voided upon expiry.]

The director’s assistant Ling Xiao stared with his eyes wide open.

Zhao Mengke who sat across him was shocked, “What…the f*ck?!”

Z Nation Lottery was different from others’ lottery. Tickets were sold online and are issued randomly. The buyer could not choose their own numbers. In the middle of each month, the website would announce the winning number on the website. As long as the numbers announced matched the numbers on the ticket purchased, that is considered as winning.

But because it was controlled by a machine and tickets were sold online, almost no one had ever won the first prize.

Zhao Mengke had bought lottery tickets before, but he always had an impression that it was a scam. The lottery ticket company would not let the numbers purchased off the internet to match the winning numbers.

But now, Lou Wei who was in a business discussion with the company’s board of directors regarding capital investment issues a second ago was announcing to them that he had won the lottery the next second.

And moreover, it was the first prize of 99.99 million. What dog-sh*t luck is this?

The old man from the phone screen’s ‘contact’ raised a thumb to Wen Fan. The octopus from  ‘Zui You’ (T/N: popular lifestyle apps in china) floated from the second page of the desktop and leaned on the penguin’s head clapping at Wen Fan.

Even the QQ Penguin also pulled out a soana from it’s *ss and started playing it silently.

Lou Wei saw everyone on the phone desktop in a joyous atmosphere, he couldn’t help but relax his brows.

He lifted his head and once again glanced at everyone who participated in the meeting.

“Alright, the capital for investment is settled. We shall start to discuss the manpower allocation for the new game.”

Everyone, “…” Can we have a share of the prize?
