Liu Zhen felt momentarily disappointed when she heard that Jin Yang would not be travelling north.

She thought that Xiang Yingzhuo was too naive and impulsive. She had lived in the apocalypse for three years so after her rebirth, she felt uncomfortable being around these kinds of people again.

She originally wanted to follow Xiang Yingzhuo because his team would shine and become a famous team later in the apocalypse, but now that there was another big boss, Xiang Yingzhuo was not necessarily her first choice anymore.

She couldn’t understand why a strong man like Jin Yang didn’t plan on going to City B. Did he not know that the capital would be the safest and most stable place to be in the future?

Liu Zhen needed to go to City B. But first, she wanted to talk to Jin Yang. She should make him understand City B’s importance, or rather, her importance.

All the evolved people who were planning to leave the city gathered in the hall. Except for those who were following the military northward, everyone else received the information they wanted.

Besides Jin Yang, there were three other groups who did not plan to go to City B.

One group was a family of three: a young couple with a two-year-old baby; they were extremely cautious and refused to get close to anyone.

The strengths of the husband and wife complemented each other. The woman had an animal-type mutation. She was very strong and was usually in charge of hunting with the other evolved people. Her husband, on the other hand, had a sensory-type mutation, which made the two of them well coordinated.

They planned to go to an established survivor base nearby. The capital was too far for them, as having such a young child on the road was dangerous.

The second group was led by three evolved people, and they had several minions. They refused to go north because they did not want to be constrained by the military. They wanted to make their own power instead1.

The third group was a little different. It was formed by two groups of people.

One group consisted of a man and two women. Only the man was an evolved person. His ability was the common bodily evolution. His muscles could expand to the size of Hercules’s, and his body could extend upwards to nearly two metres.

When Yin Yiliu first saw him, she thought she had seen Popeye who would transform after eating spinach.

The two women he brought along with him were his girlfriend and sister.

He partnered with a man and a woman who were siblings, the both of them being evolved people.

The sister’s ability was very special. The hair on her entire body could grow to be extremely long and hard like sharp thorns, making it difficult for enemies to approach her. However, if her hair grew to be too long, her body would emit an unpleasant odour.

The younger brother was the lizard man that Yin Yiliu had previously seen clinging to the wall in the dark. When the siblings and their parents fled for their lives during the beginning of the apocalypse, except for the sister whose hair had mutated, the rest of her family had been eaten by a big poisonous mutated lizard. The sister was devastated, but the lizard unexpectedly began to roll in pain, gradually transforming into her brother. Since then, the siblings had relied on one another.

They were all planning to go to City Z, so they teamed up.

Now that they knew that Jin Yang’s destination was also City Z, the leading man and woman waited for Jin Yang after the crowd dispersed.

“Hello, my name is Zhao Sihui.” The woman was bright and beautiful; the way she conducted herself was natural and unrestrained, leaving a very good impression. The man next to her scratched his head and reached his hand out to Jin Yang.

“I’m Lei Hongyi. My ability is an increase in strength. We are all heading to City Z. Do you want to join us?”

Yin Yiliu stuck her little head out from Jin Yang’s arms and looked at the two evolved people in front of her. They appeared to be in their early twenties. Her first impression of them was particularly favorable, especially Zhao Sihui.

After all, who doesn’t like beautiful and cool big sisters?

Yin Yiliu, from the bottom of her heart, wished for Jin Yang to get along with others. In the apocalypse, people could only go further as a team. No matter how powerful a person was, they would be at a disadvantage when facing a group of people alone.

She really wanted Jin Yang to have his own team, which could soften his cold and unfeeling heart. She didn’t want to see him end up as lonely and isolated as he was in the novel.

She stepped on Jin Yang’s sturdy arms and jumped straight onto Zhao Sihui’s lap. By twisting her body around in the warm and soft arms of the beautiful big sister, she used her actions to tell Jin Yang that she was very satisfied with her.

Zhao Sihui hurriedly caught Yin Yiliu with her arms. She stroked the long, white ears of the little rabbit with her fingertips. No girl could resist the power of the furry, especially when this rabbit was deliberately selling meng2. It was so adorable, its soft and pink little hind paws dangling, that her heart melted.

Zhao Sihui’s heart trembled, and her eyes were glued to Yin Yiliu’s hind paws. The little feet-feet were pink and squishy. She wondered how wonderful the sensation would be if she could squeeze them.

But she didn’t want to risk it. This mutated animal appeared tiny and cute, but the sight of it fighting against several evolved people was still vivid in her memory.

She only held Yin Yiliu’s soft little butt and looked up at Jin Yang with an even more sincere smile than before. “Your little rabbit is really cute!”

Jin Yang’s face fell when Yin Yiliu jumped out of his arms and rolled around selling meng towards Zhao Sihui. There was a kind of sour feeling in his heart, as if his treasure had been stolen away by someone else. He just wanted to snatch his little rabbit back right away.

He could see that Yin Yiliu liked the woman in front of him, but he didn’t understand why. He didn’t get Yin Yiliu’s good intentions at all. When he looked at Zhao Sihui, he even felt that she was an eyesore.

Fortunately, the woman knew how to speak well. When he heard ‘your little rabbit’, the low air pressure around Jin Yang gradually dissipated. When he returned his gaze to Yin Yiliu, she seemed to avoid his gaze guiltily. After rubbing herself in Zhao Sihui’s arms a few more times, she jumped back to Jin Yang.

Jin Yang pinched the rabbit’s round tail as punishment. When he raised his head and looked at the two again, his expression had already returned to its usual coldness.

He understood what the little rabbit meant. It wanted him to go to City Z with these people.

His first thought was that it was impossible. He disliked being around other people and refused to trust others. He did not need any teammates.

But this little thing shouldn’t live a lonely life like him. It obviously liked Zhao Sihui a lot, so he would simply comply with its wishes.

If these people showed any signs of ill-intent, he would take them out himself.

Jin Yang did not touch Zhao Sihui’s hand. He shook hands with Lei Hongyi and said, “I hope we can have a good cooperation.”

Yin Yiliu heard the answer she wanted and bounced excitedly on Jin Yang’s lap. Finally, Jin Yang would not be alone anymore. It would be nice to have these people on the road looking out for one another.

When the two returned to their own place, Lei Hongyi saw his younger sister was being bothered by Hong Ming, the playful good-for-nothing son from a wealthy family. His expression darkened.

“Little Duo, come here.”

His younger sister’s name was Lei Ruduo. She was only eighteen, a flower-like age, and was a little spoiled.

Lei Ruduo didn’t particularly like Hong Ming, but he was a smooth talker who always made her laugh. When she saw her brother was angry, she pursed her lips and suppressed her smile as she walked towards her brother.

A handsome face flashed in her mind, Lei Ruduo’s eyes lit up. “Brother, did he agree?” she asked, grabbing Lei Hongyi’s arm.

“Yeah. Bro Jin Yang will go with us.”

Lei Ruduo’s heart skipped a beat. When she first saw Jin Yang, she wondered how there could be such a handsome man. He was especially handsome when he coldly threatened others. He was so cool!

She would have cheered loudly at that time if it hadn’t been for her brother covering her mouth.

When she thought about such a handsome man joining them and that they would be in close contact for the entire journey, she felt as if she was dreaming.

Hong Ming’s face stiffened when he heard the name ‘Jin Yang’. He looked at Lei Ruduo’s ecstatic expression. How could an experienced playboy like him fail to recognise the smitten expression on a girl’s face.

If it was before, at the hook of a finger of the young master of the Hong family, countless beautiful women would have flocked to him. However, in the apocalypse, money became waste paper. If he hadn’t had his eye mutation ability, he would have been the same as the people at the lowest rung of the ladder.

Lei Ruduo’s brother had evolved in strength, so Hong Ming dared not use force. But he was irritated when the woman who was about to fall onto his hands just flew away. He turned around and returned to his own place.

Zhao Sihui’s younger brother was Zhao Qiyang, who was sixteen years old and a first-year high school student before the apocalypse.

Before he was swallowed and hybridised with the lizard, he didn’t have much fear for the apocalypse. Aside from feeling sad when his parents died, he thought that the whole apocalypse thing was really cool. The boy had  Middle Schooler Syndrome3 and thought that the evolved people and their mutated abilities were awesome.

He shed his rough, bumpy skin, and his short claws transformed back into human hands again. With a lollipop in his mouth, he squatted on the ground and asked his sister, “I know who Jin Yang is. I’d seen him on TV before. Is he powerful?”

Zhao Sihui rubbed her brother’s head, her heart trembling at the thought of the man’s deep eyes. “Don’t mess with that man,” she warned.

“I know I know! But he’s really cool, and he’s got a gun! This is the first time I’ve ever seen a real gun! Oh my gosh it’s so cool! And his rabbit, I couldn’t even see where it came out from…”

Zhao Qiyang kept prattling nonstop with an excited expression on his face. Lei Ruduo, who was seated beside him, was getting impatient. She always thought that this brat was too naive, but he was an evolved person, whereas she was just an ordinary person.

Lei Ruduo scratched at her slightly chipped acrylic nails, knitted her brows, and complained, “Why hasn’t Lin Jia brought the food yet?”

Evolved people needed to consume a large amount of food, so the military prepared supper especially for them.

Lei Hongyi only knew by then that Lin Jia wasn’t around because Lei Ruduo had ordered her around again. He was a little angry. He looked at his arrogant little sister and asked in a low voice, “She is your sister-in-law, your family, can you have some respect for her?”

It was getting late. Even though soldiers and evolved people patrolled the night, it was still dangerous for an ordinary woman to go out alone. How could Lei Hongyi possibly be at ease?

“She is not my family!” His little sister’s voice was a bit shrill, and her resentful tone gave him a headache.

Lin Jia was his lover, but when she and his mother were chased by a mutated dog, it was his mother who pushed her away and was bitten to death by the dog.

From then on, Lei Ruduo hated Lin Jia, believing that Lin Jia was responsible for her mother’s death.

Lei Hongyi was sad as well, but he knew that it was his mother’s intention for them to survive. So he had been attempting to console his lover. He didn’t want her to bear such a heavy pressure, but his sister continued to treat her horribly.

Lin Jia returned with a plateful of food. She heard Lei Ruduo’s screaming, and her face turned pale. She pursed her lips and took two deep breaths. Lei Hongyi noticed her and stepped forward to help. “I thought I told you not to go out,” he said softly.

She motioned with her hand that she was fine. When she raised her head again, she had controlled her emotions and forced a smile onto her face.

Lei Ruduo sneered at her and said, “Fake.”

Regarding the Lei family’s affairs, the Zhao siblings had no right to intervene. They silently finished their supper and prepared to sleep. They had to recharge their energy because they would depart early the next morning.

While in the forest, not far from the SUV, there was a man and a woman whose faces were obscured by the darkness.

The man sat on a wheelchair, holding a wriggling ball of living fluff in his arms.

Yin Yiliu felt that she must have transmigrated into the wrong book. Otherwise, why was the female lead Liu Zhen not with Xiang Yingzhuo, but instead asking her Big Golden Thigh out in the middle of the night to talk??

She listened to Liu Zhen’s analysis of ‘Major Events in the World’ in a daze. When she heard Liu Zhen recommend herself and offer to team up with Jin Yang, her pea-shaped eyes widened.

Is Liu Zhen attempting to steal her people in her presence?

Yin Yiliu couldn’t sit still any longer. She couldn’t let the female lead steal away her Big Golden Thigh! No matter how bad Xiang Yingzhuo was, he still had the main lead’s halo4. The male and female leads were made for each other.

Did someone cast black magic on Liu Zhen?

The author has something to say: The little pals that will be joining our leads on the road will not have any romantic conflict with our leads. Don’t worry ww

I saw some cuties who think that Xiang Yingzhuo is kinda bad, unlike a male lead. Lemme explain, the elders in Xiang & Li family harmed Jin Yang. Jin Yang retaliated by destroying the two families. They are already enemies, oh.

In the early stages of the apocalypse, the original main leads had not gone through hardships yet, so they seemed a little fickle. I did not intentionally dumbed them down. Their encounters in City B in the later stages will be tenser.

But by the looks of (this) scum author’s writing speed, it might be a long time later hhhh
