Chapter 33.1 - Distribution of the Mutated Cat (1/4)

When Yin Yiliu returned to the room that night, Jin Yang was still asleep. His always cold eyes were closed, and he looked slightly fragile as the bright moonlight shone on his side profile.

The little rabbit glanced at the man on the bed before jumping into her nest quietly, rubbing her head against the soft cushion and falling asleep.

But in her dreams, there was a wisp of smoke that kept hovering around her ears. She scrunched her pink nose and waved her arms, but her arms were too short to reach anything. She seemed to hear a very light sigh before she turned over and continued her sweet dreams.

The next morning, the Zhao siblings got up early and cooked the corn cobs, that hadn’t been cooked last night, for breakfast.

Yin Yiliu awoke to find herself lying on the bed. She was covered with a small blanket, sprawled out on her back with her fat little legs in the air, exposing her soft tummy. She jolted up to discover that there was no one next to her. Jin Yang had already gotten up and left.

After she put the blankets and quilts that had been used only once into her space once more, she jumped down from the bed and yawned. She then went outside and saw the Zhao siblings busying about in the yard.

Where had her Big Golden Thigh gone?

She was about to look around for him when a hand gently lifted her and placed her into his arms. She turned her head and met Jin Yang’s eyes.

""

The man’s eyes were stunning. Yin Yiliu felt a little guilty about what she did last night, so she pressed his arm with her paws ingratiatingly.

Jin Yang was holding the little bunny up by her buttocks, but after some thinking, he frowned and pulled her up, allowing the little fella to step on his arm instead.

Before Yin Yiliu could figure out why Jin Yang had suddenly changed his usual posture, she noticed that the man had placed a basin of water on the table. He washed his hands with soap and took a handful of water to her mouth.

She turned her head to the side. What is the meaning of this? Big Golden Thigh wants her to drink raw water?!

Jin Yang saw that the little fella was unwilling, so he did not insist. It seemed that the little fella was still unfamiliar with human practices and didn’t know how to brush her teeth or gargle. Although he wouldn’t force the little rabbit to tell him the truth, he could still guide her in learning human habits.

After wetting a small towel, he wiped the rabbit’s little face and paws carefully. Yin Yiliu was confused. What happened to Jin Yang? Why was he acting so strange today?

After wiping the little fella’s face, Jin Yang took her to the yard. Zhao Qiyang had already started to eat. He looked at the little rabbit, whose fur around her mouth was still wet, unable to understand why Big Bro Jin would baby a pet so much.

He wanted to tease Jin Yang, but when he bit on the corn cob too hard, he accidentally broke it in half. He lowered his head and saw a hole at the end of the cob. The corn inside was rotten and black, exuding a foul stench.

The grossest thing was that there was even a fat worm in the hole. Its skin had already been cooked and reddened, but it still wiggled its body with tenacity. Zhao Qiyang only took one look at its sharp mouthparts and disgusting body before throwing the corn in his hands far away and retching.

“F*ck! Why is it so disgusting!”

The teenager seldom cursed. At this time, he was gargling with an aggravated expression on his face. Even though the remaining corn had been broken into smaller pieces by his sister, his stomach still turned when he looked at it.

Zhao Sihui didn’t have the slightest sympathy for him. She couldn’t help but smile when she saw her brother’s miserable appearance, “Everything has evolved now. That one just now must have been high in protein.”

“Go ahead and eat it if you want!”

Having learned from Zhao Qiyang’s misfortune, Jin Yang checked each corn kernel before feeding it to the little fella in his arms.

After they finished eating the corn, they packed their belongings and prepared to leave the farmhouse, while Yin Yiliu put the daily necessities back into her space.

The black wolf pup got up with its tail wagging lazily, ready to leave the house, when it heard Jin Yang asking nonchalantly, “Did any one of you hear anything last night?”

The pup was stunned for a moment, and went, “Awoo awoo,” saying there was absolutely nothing, but unfortunately, no one understood it except Yin Yiliu. It had sensitive senses. If someone had climbed the wall or leaped through the door, it would have been the first to notice.

The Zhao siblings shook their heads hesitantly, thinking about what Jin Yang was asking them.

“Big Bro Jin, what did you hear yesterday?”

Jin Yang let out a light laugh, which was like a stray bullet blasting into Yin Yiliu’s heart. She shuddered and felt chills run down her back as she tried to recall the situation from last night.

Jin Yang was still in ‘deep sleep’ when she returned. Did he really hear anything?

No way, no way!

If she had been in a human form, she might have panicked and appeared flustered at the moment, but she just pretended to be calm and forced herself to look at Jin Yang with her small innocent eyes, firmly expressing that she, too, hadn’t heard anything. Only that her soft little paws were unconsciously pinching the corner of Jin Yang’s clothes.

Jin Yang raised an eyebrow and said, “Maybe I heard it wrong and it was just a little mouse that drilled a hole,” as he looked at the little fella with her slightly trembling three-petaled lips. 1

Zhao Qiyang scratched his head. He felt that Jin Yang was acting weird today, but he couldn’t tell what exactly was weird about him. He seemed to be in a pretty good mood.
