When Qiu Jiu heard Gu Lang’s words, a momentary change appeared on his face, then cautiously peered at Gu Lang’s face whose emotion could not be seen. He hesitated for a moment yet still said, “Gongzi, did something happen today?”

Gu Lang didn’t reply to his words, simply gave him a sidelong glance, which was emotionless, however it made people’s hair stand on end.

Qiu Jiu shivered, immediately came back to his senses and remembered that he hadn’t answered Gu Lang’s words, hurriedly recalled it back. He then frowned and said: “Today there are a few local ruffians who came to pester us, wanting to blackmail some money from the stalls, but in the end we drove them, and didn’t let them take any advantage.”

Hearing Qiu Jiu’s words, Gu Lang understood as he nodded his head. It seems that the killing intent he saw in Boss Qiao’s eyes today was not fake. That woman simply did not have the intention to let him out alive.
