Chapter 13 - Turned the Male Lead Green (13)

Subtitle: You're jealous I'm bigger than you?

Chu Nan used to learn martial arts when he was young. The kids at the class were young and impetuous, and between trading punches and kicks, no one would understand the difference in status.

Because of this, Chu Nan didn’t even flinch when he was hit. His eyes held a few hints of amber, and though his expression was peaceful, a fierce, ruthless and tyrannical light seemed to be hidden within his gaze, making people unable to stare straight at him.

Chu Nan reached out his left hand and steadily placed it against the wall. Just by looking at it, it seemed like he was circling Ruan Yan in his embrace.

Voice low and with a hint of wildness at the end of his sentence, Chu Nan asked, “Little Psycho, hitting is liking, scolding is love. Do you like me this much?”

Ruan Yan gave a cold laugh in his heart. No wonder he was the male lead of a Mary Sue campus novel, saying so many perverted words.

He punched out with a “dong” again, not holding back a bit of his strength. His voice so soft that you could squeeze out water, “My like is this heavy, do you like it?”

…Chu Nan felt like his shoulder was breaking and could even hear the sound of his bone coming loose.

He’d discovered before that Yan Yan was so obedient and fragile, how could she have so much strength?

The last time, he was almost pushed over.

Ze, a warrior barbie was a bit difficult to eat.

Ruan Yan blinked his pretty peach blossom eyes, full of emotion, “Chu Nan, what happened to you? Does it hurt?”

That pair of beautiful black eyes stared at Chu Nan. No matter how painful it was, there was no way that Chu Nan could say it. He put on an uncaring expression and lowly said, “It doesn’t hurt as long as you’re the one who hit it.”

“Really?” Ruan Yan smiled gently, appearing particularly innocent, purposefully saying, “Chu Nan, I was still thinking that I would help you blow on it if it hurt~ But since it doesn’t hurt, then I’m going fist la~”

Finished, he shook off Chu Nan’s hand and took his bag and left.

Chu Nan: …Regret, now I really regret.

The emotions in his eyes changed again and again as he clenched and unclenched his fists before calming down.

When school ended that afternoon, Chu Nan, Ju Ping, and the rest of their gang left together. When the other students saw them, they either kept far far away from them, or secretly shot glances at Chu Nan’s face.

Ju Ping said, “It’s still early. Brother Chu, are we going to go play basketball? Or find a place to drink?”

“Not going.” Chu Nan shot a glance at him, “It’s almost the monthly exam, have you already finished all your homework?”

“There’s still homework?” Ju Ping scratched his head. Brother Chu still knew that there was homework?

“The university examination is after the monthly exam. If you guys don’t try to deal with it, think about how you’re going to tell your parents.” Previously, Chu Nan had looked down upon those idiots who bothered to seriously study, but now, for Ran Yan, he had to learn hard. However, he was afraid that his brothers (1) would laugh at him, so he spoke like this.

Neither did he care about Ju Ping and the other’s reactions, waving his hand as he said, “I’m leaving now, don’t make a big mess.”

Chu Nan’s parents were usually very rarely at home, and there was only him and his grandma. When he’d brought up the matter of hiring a private tutor, his grandma had been overjoyed.

“Nan-zi (2) ah, you’re finally willing to put in effort to study. If your mum and dad knew, then they wouldn’t be so strict with you. Grandma will go and find a tutor for you right now.” His grandma smilingly went to make a call, without forgetting to mysteriously give Chu Nan a card.

“You’re still growing right now. Your mum and dad only give you $15 every day, how could that be enough? Now that you’ve understood things, take this card. Don’t tell your parents.”

Chu Nan refused to take the card, “I have enough to spend. Keep your money for yourself, I’m going first.”

However much Chu Nan was a tyrant – an evil gangster in the teacher’s eyes – he still wouldn’t secretly accept his elders’ money.

He quickly went up the stairs. On the other side, Ruan Yan called his former teacher and said that he wanted to find a part time job in order to train his temperament.

Ruan Yan’s teacher could still be ranked within the entire city (3), and he just happened to know that Chu Nan’s family came from a political background, meaning that they had a say in the educational department.

Under this kind of operation, Ruan Yan was successfully introduced to become Chu Nan’s private tutor, having classes on Saturday and Sunday.

Tomorrow was Saturday, Ruan Yan’s first time going to work.

He recalled that in the plot, near the end, Chu Nan earnestly began to study for the female lead, painfully slapping the face of the arrogant male side character.

But according to Chu Nan’s current grades as the last place in the year, if he didn’t tutor him, then it was really too difficult for him to slap his face.

8am on Saturday, the sun rose. Golden sunlight sprinkled over the boundless earth without an ounce of scorching heat, merely light.

Ruan Yan knocked on the gates of Chu Nan’s mansion, his handsome and polite manner earning Grandma Chu’s appreciation.

Grandma Chu directly allowed him to go to the third floor, the last room on the left being Chu Nan’s room.

After thanking her, Ruan Yan walked up the stairs and rang the doorbell after finding that the door was tightly shut.

No one came to open the door but seeing as there was light radiating out from under the door, there was definitely someone inside.

Could it be that Chu Nan knew that the person tutoring him was himself so he purposely didn’t open the door?

Ruan Yan didn’t like to waste time and he no longer hesitated. After testing that the door knob could be twisted, he opened the door wide and justifiably walked in.

“Ruan Yan, why are you here?” Chu Nan just happened to come out of the shower and only had a towel wrapped around his waist. The muscle lines on his upper body were very obvious, and there were still tiny beads of water stuck to him.

Ruan Yan’s face darkened when he looked at Chu Nan’s appearance and couldn’t help wanting to punch him.

Without a hint of fear, he coldly said, “So it’s you, Chu Nan? I’m the new tutor that you invited.”

“Heh. Heh.” Chu Nan’s eyes resembled a vicious tigers’ as they locked onto Ruan Yan, scanning over his body.

This little white face (4) was born with a good sack of skin, clear and cold, but sometimes appearing to have the charm of a rose.

Simply put, he was sissy, Chu Nan disdainfully thought.

“You’re here to be a tutor?” Chu Nan smirked, his eyes cold, “What, did your families lock company go bankrupt?”

He was referring to their first meeting, when Ruan Yan spitefully said that his family owned a lock company, and he could match as many keys and locks as he wanted.

Ruan Yan remained unruffled and replied without a hint of weakness, “Of course I don’t dare to go bankrupt.”

“There’s still something you don’t dare to do?” Chu Nan mocked.

“En, I’m afraid to go bankrupt.” A faint, shallow hint of a smile flashed through Ruan Yan’s peach blossom eyes, “I’m afraid that you can’t afford to raise me.”

If he really went bankrupt, then wouldn’t Chu Nan wholeheartedly raise him?

Ze (5), although… Ruan Yan had thought that Chu Nan’s family had simply had a simple political background before and didn’t have much money, but today, after seeing Chu Nan’s house, he recalled that Chu Nan’s mum worked in business, and quite obviously, there was no need to talk about how generous their background was.

With such an affluent background, yet calculating how much the breakfast he brought him every morning was worth – it was no more than 8 Yuan (6).

And Chu Nan still had the face to say he loved him. Heh. Men.

As expected, Ran Yan was just a side character. The one Chu Nan really loved was the female lead after her, Su Xue.

Afraid that you can’t afford to raise me… Ruan Yan’s words rung in his ear and Chu Nan’s face darkened, “Are you dreaming? Why the f**k would I raise you?”

Didn’t you yourself say that you would raise me? Ruan Yan’s face turned cold and he finally stopped teasing Chu Nan, “By my labor. I’m going to teach you. The price Grandma Chu gave me was 500 yuan for one subject, the time beginning from when I set foot inside the Chu Manor. If you keep on wasting time, then I’m afraid that you might be making a loss.”

Chu Nan didn’t want to listen to his sweet talk and pointed at the door, “Leave, I don’t need you to teach me.”

It wasn’t like Ruan Yan was the only one left in the world who could boast big. Change it to someone else and it would still be teaching.

Ruan Yan had long foreseen that he wouldn’t cooperate, and clearly enunciated, “Then that’s too bad. I’d even told Ran Yan that I would come to be your tutor. She was very happy and even wanted to hear about your performance from me.”

“Looking at your performance now, only getting up when the sun is high in the sky, and being rude to your tutor who came from afar to teach you…”

He examined Chu Nan’s expression as he talked.

Chu Nan was dumbfounded at first, before a gloomy look rose up in his eyes. He jerked his mouth up into a smile with a hint of killing intent as he said, “You can tell her. Yan Yan will definitely trust me and not you.”

“En. I’ve only just transferred schools and your relationship with her is closer than mine.” Ruan Yan didn’t try to refute his words. With his lips curved up into a smile, it was just like the icy crescent moon had finally revealed its own glory.

He pretended to touch his trouser pocket, “Luckily, I have a habit of recording things.”

A recording again!

Was this guy a bat demon (7)? Would he die if he didn’t record?

Chu Nan’s expression could no longer simply be described as ugly as he reached out his hand, “Give me your phone.”

“If you’re cooperative enough with today’s tutoring session, then… Wu!”

Ruan Yan had yet to finish when Chu Nan uncompromisingly reached out a hand and pulled him in, wanting to steal his phone.

Ruan Yan’s face turned white from anger. Wanting to have one’s way through violence again?

He wasn’t that easy to bully either. He sent his elbow into Chu Nan’s stomach before using his foot to kick Chu Nan.

In Chu Nan’s entire life, besides when he was young, he’d only been hit by that Little Psycho who was at the lip of his heart.

That was when he was wholeheartedly willing to be hit. How could it be possible for other people to hit him?

His face turned heavy as he dodged without releasing his grip on Ruan Yan. Because of his strong fitness, the foot Ruan Yan kicked out went off track and by the time it landed on the ground, it slid, and he fell backwards.

Behind him was – the bed.

Chu Nan needed to find the phone on Ruan Yan’s body and also fell down, pressing down on Ruan Yan’s body.

His face darkened, did Ruan Yan put his phone in his right pocket or his left pocket?

Fine, just feel for it on both sides. This guy’s skin was so smooth that it didn’t seem like a man’s anymore, he could feel it even through the pants.

Chu Nan kept on looking for the phone, moving his hands over his body without stopping. Ruan Yan was being pressed down and couldn’t move, the humiliation in his heart already overflowing. His eyes were red as he spat out word by word, “Get off.”

Chu Nan turned a deaf ear to him and Ruan Yan turned anxious, “You, get up. You’re prodding me.”

What prod him?

Oh. It was because this was the morning, and added on to that fact that Ruan Yan’s skin was so smooth, after feeling around here and there, this was a normal reaction.

Chu Nan understood it and curved his lips up into a cold smile, “What? Do you not have it? Or are you jealous that mine is bigger than yours?”

Translator’s Notes:

(1) Referring to his friends, but because they have a close relationship, he addresses them as his brothers (e.g. Ju Ping)

(2) Term of endearment. Adding a “zi” behind a persons name usually shows that they have a close relationship, e.g. parents and child

(3) Meaning that he’s a very good teacher who’s very reputable and can be ranked in the top amongst all the teachers in the city (there’s a lot – consider the population of Beijing or Shanghai)

(4) Directly translated from Baidu: Usually used to describe males, particularly in a marriage, where the male party does not work or look after home affairs; not doing anything in the end, and only relies on their girlfriend or wife to provide a living to support them. Otherwise used to scornfully describe the party who does not produce anything in a male x male relationship. (there’s more, but I think this is enough for people to understand)

(5) A sound made when someone clicks their tongue, or like a zezeze laugh kinda… when you’re laughing at someone’s misfortune

(6) Chinese money is calculated in Yuan (元), just like how $ can be USD or AUD, etc

(7) I’m not too sure as to what connotations this has, but I searched up what a bat is representative of and in the southern part of China, apparently they’re a symbol of what’s sleek and sinister (yes, I did take the adjectives off google translate, but they’re a good fit)
