Unspoken Feelings
Chapter 34
Feeling the discomfort in Henry's eyes, Cheska threw in a Fetho stone and a concealing formation was activated. She went out and pulled Helen and Francis inside.
"What is happening" Helen asked.
Francis was looking so amazed with the barrier. The formation resembled the stealth technology back in planet hilan. It was like a glass but it has a lot of unique ability. The technology has a selective permeability from animate, inanimate object, different molecules, or anything that it was program to.
"Francis, are you ok?" Cheska asked.
"Uhm, it's this." he said while pointing out on the barrier.
"It's a concealing formation." Cheska said. "It prevents people from eves dropping or even finding us."
"It's looks like a technology from our world."
He was referring to Stealth technology which is a semi permeable glass. It's was widely used in their planet because of its multi-function.
Helen understood his sentiment. She misses her android, AI, her shinny floor tile and the sound of her heels against it. There were a lot of things that she misses from her previous world, but she must accept her current situation.
[Sigh]
Francis sat down and immediately noticed the serious expression in their faces. Henry explained that they needed to be more cautious and raise their cultivation faster.
Cheska gave a solemn look. An average cultivator takes years to advance. Each skill also needs years of honing. But, Henry was asking them to do it like it was a walk in the park.
Everyone was quiet. Francis [what the hell does that mean?], Helen [ shoot I was just thinking of destroying my current cultivation], Cheska [I'm too busy in running the household to focus on my cultivation], Madel [don't look at me]
Henry looked at their expression. It was like dropping a bomb on them. But they don't have any choice. The only problem was, how much time did they have.
"about that, Henry." Helen hesitated.
"yes"
"I was hoping to cultivate the same manual as Francis."
Henry paused and thought about things.
"You plan on destroying your current cultivation?" Cheska asked with a solem tone.
Madel also looked at Helen. Francis was at a loss trying to make sense of the situation from the little things that he knows. [what the hell are they talking about]
There was a silence for a long time.
"The path for spiritual cultivation Helen is narrow, there are obstacles everywhere and you will be tempted to deviate."
"I, understand." Helen bowed her head
"I don't think that this is the right time for you to be distracted about such thoughts." Henry paused. "have you talked about this to your clan?"
"No, I was thinking of asking your opinion first." Helen said,
Henry pursed his lips and closed his eyes. There was an ocean of silence.
"Learning another cultivation manual would prevent you from focusing on your previous cultivation. With your attention divided it would be a lot harder to advance." He said.
"Helen, the cultivation manual may not be suitable for you, you have to confirm this with the elders first." Cheska said.
"Your previous cultivation would not be ruined by learning this manual, but it will delay you." Henry sighed and shook his head. He looked at Madel wishing that she would take the initiative to at least try and cultivate. Just like the swords recognition maybe, just maybe she could utilize her spirit.
"But, I feel some sort of familiarity with the manual Henry." She said.
It was not the best time to cultivate her spirit, but if she did not start now she may not have the chance to do it. There is a big chance that they will die sooner because of the shadows so she thought about taking a leap.
"How about you Cheska.... Madel?"
"I think, we should not involve other people in our misfortune." Cheska got Henry's deepest thoughts again. Realizing it, she agreed. "We have to rely on ourselves…. To each other… involving other people would just cause too many unnecessary casualties."
Francis was finally having a grasp of the situation. They are being targeted by a powerful organization. It seems like that organization wanted revenge because they killed two of their members. Henry was asking them to raise their cultivation so that they could at least survive for who knows until when. Based from their conflicted expression it seems like they will die anyway no matter what they do. Even if other experts are involved they would still die. Just how strong are those shadows?
[I don't think they are that strong, We managed to kill them effortlessly last time. This people are over reacting] he thought.
