Chapter 13 – The Road of Cultivation

Translator: BipBop

“The seeds of cultivation have been planted. The next step is to observe how each race evolves and develops. What fruit shall they bear?”

Sitting on his supreme throne, Mu Yuan retracted his gaze from the Yuan World’s continent. With a swing of his arm, an immense World Tree rocketed towards him and then halted in front of him.

“It appears the World Tree possesses the ability to locate the spatial coordinates of other worlds. Once I find a suitable world, I will be able to directly invade that world and plunder its Origin Energy.”

Although the races of the Yuan World developed at a rapid pace during the thousand years, the races didn’t heavily influence the growth of the actual Yuan World. Currently, the absorption of void essence was the only thing that promoted the growth of the Yuan World.

The Yuan World was only a Minor World. The next level, the Early Multiervse, was far away. If the Yuan World wanted to advance to an Early Multiverse, it would take hundreds of millions of years. At this rate, the Yuan World had a better chance of returning to the void, perishing, before it could advance to an Early Multiverse.

The Yuan World entered the Era of Cultivation because Mu Yuan hoped the development of the living beings in the Yuan World would eventually lead to the world itself to grow.

The higher the cultivation of the living beings in the Yuan World was, the stronger their souls would be, which meant they could absorb more void essence from the void. Then, more energy would be fed into the Yuan World after their death.

In addition, all of the living beings in the Yuan World comprehended the road of cultivation differently, helping the world grow. Countless beings banded together could shorten the time it took for the Yuan World to become an Early Multiverse.

There was also a more efficient way to speed up the development of the Yuan World. Plundering other worlds!

Plundering worlds was far faster than developing autonomously. With such a fast method in front of him, Mu Yuan would obviously do it. After all, it was survival of the fittest.

He was going to become the strongest Heavenly Dao…

While Mu Yuan controlled the World Tree to scour for other worlds, the races of the world worked hard, treading the road of cultivation.

10 innate spirit roots, hundred of outer spirit roots, and countless plain spirit roots took root and grew throughout the Yuan World. The world stabilized, the crystal sphere thickened, and the concentration of spirit qi rose.

Under the abundance of spirit qi, the various races absorbed the spirit qi, their bodies getting stronger, their blood and vitality getting more robust. They felt the change.

A year after the descent of spirit qi, the rise in spirit qi stopped. The spirit roots could now only maintain the concentration of spirit qi, reaching their limit. They also needed to use the excess energy to grow themselves.

Currently, the bodies of the living beings in the Yuan World were so strong that passively absorbing spirit qi couldn’t improve their strength. They now needed to consume vicious beast meat and heavenly herbs to become stronger.

However, the races needed a long-term plan to become stronger. Thus, they sought out techniques that could manually absorb spirit qi. They would then control the acquired spirit qi to temper the body and strengthen their qi and blood. This was far more efficient than passively absorbing the spirit qi.

At the same time, vicious beasts, who only had their animal instincts left and resided in wild treacherous places with numerous treasures, increased their strength at a far faster rate than the other races. The existence of vicious beasts seriously threatened the homes of all the other races.

Therefore, in order to defend against beasts and obtain food more efficiently, all the races never stopped exploring different techniques that tempered their body and qi.

After generations upon generations of exploring and experimenting, the races eventually found numerous techniques that absorbed spirit qi. They also found other martial techniques that strengthened the body.

One by one, heroes tread the road of cultivation, paving the way forward for the new generation. All on the journey of cultivation, the races exchanged information about their experiences, experiments, and results, gradually discovering two realms.

Absorb the spirit qi, tighten one’s muscles, smelt one’s body, and harden one’s skin. This was the first realm, the flesh realm, the body forging realm!

Absorb the spirit qi, integrate it with one’s blood, refine one’s blood and qi. This was the second realm, the blood realm, the twisting blood realm! In this realm, techniques (martial arts) could twist one’s own blood and release, exploding with tremendous power.

The flesh realm and the blood realm were divided into three stages. Several times stronger than an ordinary person, a warrior at the first stage of the flesh realm possessed a strength of at least 500 kilograms.

At the second stage, the strength of the warrior increased to 1,000 kilograms. At the third stage, the warrior’s strength reached 1,500 kilograms. It was a linear progression.

Of course, this only showed the change in strength when breaking through. All the attributes, like speed, defense, and soul (this one increased by very little), strengthened once a warrior broke through. Their body’s overall quality improved.

However, now with these two realms, the road of cultivation had come to a halt!

After all, the races’ fleshy bodies could only hold so much spirit qi. They had reached their limit and forcibly absorbing more spirit qi would only result in them exploding, dying. For a time, the races were lost on the road of cultivation.

For twenty years since the beginning of the descent of spirit qi, the feathered race’s youth Feng Yu combined the experiences of his countless predecessors and his own insights to coagulate his own blood. He condensed dozens of drops to form a drop of essence blood, creating mercury-like blood. It was a new realm!

TL Note: Feng Yu (风羽) literally means Wind Feather

In this realm, the qi and blood thundered like drums, condensing into drops of blood-red gems. Each drop exuded thick qi and a bloody aura. Its strength was a dozen times stronger than the blood realm. It was called the condensation realm.

The news spread and the various races were delighted at this discovery. It continued the road of cultivation. The name of the genius Feng Yu from the feathered race shook the continent.

This accomplishment reignited the hearts of countless excited warriors. They began to pursue the coagulation realm, condensing their blood.

A mighty warrior could easily hunt down vicious beasts and protect a city by themselves. The stronger a warrior, the higher their social status. Almost all mighty warriors were nobles.

Common folk yearned to become powerful warriors, leaping over the dragon’s gate and becoming a noble.

All the races identified cultivation as the foundation of their strength. Cultivation began to flourish. In just five years, beings in the coagulation realm began to pop out from all the races.

Strength brewed competitiveness. As the number of beings in the coagulation realm increased, more and more beings refused to accept Feng Yu as the strongest being under the heavens and constantly challenged him in an attempt to take his throne of being number one in the world. They had all tried in vain.

Feng Yu, the first to reach the coagulation realm, was a first-class genius from the feathered clan. Over the years, his strength and vitality constantly advanced, leaving the other warriors in the dust.

Those who came to challenge him were all defeated and killed by him. His name resounded across the Yuan World! He was strongest under the heavens.

Even Mu Yuan, who was still trying to find other worlds, was surprised. In a single thought, he knew all that had transpired. He lightly smiled.

“As Feng Yu created a new realm, he has made a contribution to the world. He will obtain a thread of merit. His strength will far exceed his peers.

The heroes shall obtain merit from the heavens. The sinners shall obtain karma. The world shall maintain order.”

Mu Yuan was satisfied with Feng Yu. After all, if the Yuan World wanted to develop faster, the world naturally needed more people like Feng Yu. But, it was only satisfaction. Since his automated heavenly brain gave Feng Yu a reward, Mu Yuan no longer paid attention to Feng Yu.
