Chapter 59: Identify Woman by Her Scent

Xiang Kun returned to the kitchen and checked the camera he had placed in the kitchen and recorded for 24 hours.

The camera was initially bought to take recordings of the rabbits after they were injected with his blood and saliva. However, it seemed that the rabbits had not undergone any changes. Initially, the two rabbit cages were placed on the kitchen bench. When Xiang Kun cooked, he moved the two cages away but did not turn off his camera.

He looked at the angle and the camera seemed to be able to capture most of the area where Xiang Kun did his preparation work.

Therefore, he went back to his room, took out his laptop, and opened the video after saving it in a file.

Although the quality of the video was not very good and the angle was awkward, it was not meant to capture Xiang Kun initially. Moreover, the process of his cooking could roughly be seen.

From the video, Xiang Kun saw that after he started playing music and began to cut the rabbit meat, he initially moved his body along with the tempo, shook his shoulders and head, and tapped his feet.

However, as time passed, when the second song played, he began to release himself and looked as though he was on the dance floor. He began to move the pot in his left hand and the turner in his right hand along with the tempo too. He did not even realize when the ingredients in the pot spilled out. He even began to do Michael Jackson’s moonwalk. Of course, he did it relatively well.

The video looked extremely weird since it had no audio.

Xiang Kun could not help but cringe.

If this happened occasionally before his transformation, Xiang Kun would not think it was weird, because he did not lose his consciousness and knew what he was doing.

It was normal for him to immerse himself in a certain emotion and forget about what was going on around him.

When he was younger and addicted to online games or comics, dramas, and novels, that would happen.

However, when this happened after the transformation, he became extremely cautious.

That was because he knew that there was a close and inseparable relationship between his body and his mind. The changes in his body would affect his mind and vice versa.

In the past month, Xiang Kun’s body had undergone rapid changes. He even wondered if he was still a human.

This change definitely affected his mind too.

However, compared to his body, it was difficult to sense the changes in his mind.

Xiang Kun listened to the music he had listened to earlier on and confirmed that it was not the music or the process of cooking that made him so immersed that he could not hear what was happening around him.

The reason for that should be because of his own “desire” to do so. Therefore, his body cooperated.

He thought about the changes in his emotions from the start of the transformation to now.

Be it the anxiousness he felt at the start towards his condition and possible death, or the curiosity and excitement with the improvements in his body, or the emotional roller coaster after discovering the gigantic owl, he had dealt with those emotions by suppressing them and controlling them, trying to think about the issue, and dealing with them with a clear mind.

He had gone through all of that without telling anyone.

Although he did not like to engage in social activities in the past, he had to go to work and communicate with people.

However, after the transformation, he had to intentionally isolate himself. He had become extremely alert to other impulses and would intentionally suppress them.

Perhaps he had suppressed himself so much that his body and mind had to let it go?

He recalled that in the past month, the most memorable experience and the moment when he felt the best were the fights with the gigantic owl.

The feeling of fighting to the death did not scare him, but made him excited.

This excitement worried him as well, and he intentionally suppressed it because he was worried that he would become a creature that craved for violence and blood.

However, it seemed that suppressing his emotions was not working. He should find a way to let it go. Or else he might really get out of control unknowingly…

Over the next two days, Xiang Kun would head to a store like a cafe or KFC to sit down and conduct his training based on his new plans.

Initially, he could not control his curiosity and would “observe” every single target in too much detail. After finding out their job, he would use other information to find out more.

However, after intentionally controlling himself and changing his target once he confirmed their jobs, or giving up after failing to do so in ten seconds, his condition improved tremendously.

Now, after walking into a shop, he could deduce a maximum of ten people’s jobs within two minutes as he observed the shop at the same time.

Although his success rate was only about 50 percent, which meant that he could only conclude about five out of ten people’s jobs, it was a huge improvement.

Once his speed and success rate improved, he would continue to train on gathering and analyzing information from various targets simultaneously, training the ability for his brain to process “multiple” pieces of information.

When night fell, Xiang Kun would head to the remote mountain where he had found the dead rat.

He found a temporary method to vent his emotions.

After taking off his shoes, he sprinted from the foot of the mountain to the peak.

There were no paths for him to walk. If he wanted to head to the top of the mountain, he would have to use his night vision and climb using all his limbs.

Although he had a lot of strength and was in prime physical condition, after climbing to the top of the mountain, he would still be extremely tired and badly injured. He suffered many injuries from the grass, tree branches, and other plants.

At the peak of the mountain, he did not stop to rest. Instead, he took another path and went down the mountain at full speed.

It was much more dangerous and difficult to climb down the mountain.

Xiang Kun had to focus and check his balance. He had to make use of his night vision and his reaction speed to dodge the tree branches, rocks, and other obstacles along the way.

If he was not careful, he would roll down the mountain or hit a tree.

When he first dashed down the mountain, he tripped over something after a few steps and rolled on the ground. Thankfully, with his strong body, he was able to get up after grabbing onto a nearby tree trunk.

The second time was worse. About halfway down the mountain, travelling at his fastest speed, he was unable to dodge and hit a tree trunk.

He felt as though he was crippled and almost fainted. He only got up after lying down for about 20 minutes and when all his injuries recovered.

If it were an ordinary person, he would have been sent to the hospital in an emergency ambulance.

For these two nights, he had to do that three times before he returned home.

This method allowed Xiang Kun to re-discover the feeling he felt when he fought with the gigantic owl.

Of course, this method was dangerous for Xiang Kun. If he did not dodge and hit some sharp broken tree branches when he rushed down, he might die if the tree branches went through his head.

After all, he was not sure if his brain could heal itself in time before he died if it suffered fatal injuries.

However, because of that, he was able to enter a full attentive mode where he used all his attention, strength, and vision.

On the morning of the 22nd, Xiang Kun received a WeChat message from Tang Baona. She asked Xiang Kun if he was free that night to play card games at her house.

Since he had agreed a long time ago, Xiang Kun agreed and reached Tang Baona’s house at 7 PM.

When he realized that there might be something wrong with his mental condition, Xiang Kun realized that it might be good if he interacted with other people.

The area where Tang Baona and Yang Zhen Er lived was clearly different from the area where Xiang Kun lived.

Apart from the geographical location, the entire area’s environment and facilities were far superior.

When he passed by a real estate agent store, he saw that the prices of the houses in this area were about 100,000 per unit area. Moreover, most of these houses were huge mansions of 140 square meters. Each apartment cost about 10 to 20 million.

If Xiang Kun saw this in the past, he would exclaim and get motivated. He would think of working hard, and once he earned big money, he would be able to buy a mansion like that.

However, now, his thoughts were:

“This place is too populated, there are too many surveillance cameras…”

When he reached Tang Baona’s house, Yang Zhen Er opened the door for him. However, he was stunned when he changed out of his shoes.

He saw a pair of basketball shoes near the shoe rock. They were the new LEBRON17s that he had seen a few days ago.

There was nothing strange with the shoes, as it was available everywhere.

However, Xiang Kun smelled a familiar scent from the shoes. He also sensed the smell from the room. He was certain that it was the same scent as the beautiful lady 5 in ponytail he had encountered two days ago in the cafe.

“Hmm? Saitama-sensei? Are you interested in these shoes? You like LBJ too?” Yang Zhen Er asked when she saw Xiang Kun’s reaction.

“Oh, my friend likes him. It is Ms. Tang’s sister’s classmate’s boyfriend,” said Xiang Kun.

“F*ck! How complicated, I almost couldn’t react! You are talking about Sister Han’s boyfriend, right?” said Yang Zhen Er as she welcomed Xiang Kun into the house.

“Yes.” Xiang Kun nodded and walked in after changing to slippers. He walked into the big living room and saw the beautiful lady sitting beside Tang Baona. She was none other than “lady 5”, whom he had met two days ago at the cafe.
