Chapter – 2 The World of Knight of the Giant

What would you do if you came to the world of your dreams?

If you’re a Japanese boy, you’ve probably played a game at least once that made you wish you could go to that world.

At least it was for me.

That is the world of Knight of the Giant.

So what would happen if that happened?

The answer is.

“Then….?”

I can’t keep my mouth shut.

All I can do is stare out the window for a while.

I still can’t believe it’s real, and I repeatedly pinch my cheeks to see if it’s a dream, but all I feel is pain.

“Seriously? No way, eh? Really?”

A complete dive? Impact? Hypnosis?

He tries to deny the sight with all possibilities.

However.

“It’s real, isn’t it?”

The eyes, nose, and ears.

Every sense taps into the fact that this is real.

The last message I recall is.

‘NEW route released, are you up for the challenge?’

If I really believe what this message means.

In other words, this is that world.

The world of the game where he spent his entire youth.

Kenya then looks once more at the envelope on his desk.

Inside are his student card and certificate of enrollment.

“Enrolment is on 1 April, and this is the school where a lot of events took place, right?”

Inside the envelope was a pamphlet about the school.

The more you look at it, the more you see it is the school where the protagonist was enrolled in the KOG world.

The official name is the Asgar Empire No. 13 Military Training School.

It’s a school for training so-called military personnel.

Moreover, it is not just a military school, but a training school for pilots who can fly a KOG.

“I should have read all the settings if this is the case, but there’s no way I could have predicted this.”

I guess I’ve been transported to the world of KOGs after all? I don’t know what’s going on, but it’s confusing.

I don’t know what’s going on, but I can’t afford to stay confused.

I don’t know much about this world.

Is it anxiety or anticipation?

My heart is beating, so much so that I think I can even hear the sound of my heart in my ears.

Kenya was excited.

“By the way, what time is it? Or rather, what day is it?”

He suddenly touched his phone, which should have been in his pocket.

But it was not there.

Instead, there is a similar device on the desk.

“Is that one of those? The one like the smartphones the protagonists had?”

Kenya touches it and turns it on.

Then a screen is projected and today’s date is displayed.

“Let’s see, 320 years of imperial history, 1 April!”

1 April, 8.00 am.

The entrance ceremony starts at 8.30, so I guess we’ll have to hurry.

I don’t know why, but I still have to attend the admission ceremony.

I don’t even know what this world is, but I don’t want to be late and stand out on the first day.

“I don’t really know what’s going on, but I’ll go anyway. Maybe, I’ll find out something.”

Kenya is a shut-in, but it’s not that he can’t leave the house.

In fact, he even goes shopping normally.

He simply doesn’t enjoy school, and the biggest factor is that there are people he doesn’t like… or rather, who don’t like him.

I suddenly ask myself, am I me in this world?

Kenya stands in front of the mirror, and I wondered if I had been reborn as someone else.

But that was a groundless fear.

There, before my birth? No, the Kenya of the original world is standing there, because he is not dead.

He was fresh from his first year of high school, and wearing an unfamiliar military-like uniform.

“I can’t believe they even provided me with a uniform..”

That uniform is the same uniform that the students at the pilot training school came in.

He gathered everything on his desk, stuffed it into his bag, and opened the door.

Only the sun shines on Kenya unchanged.

The dazzling morning sun shines down on him, and he struggles to move his head, which he still can’t fully believe, to his destination.

It seems that Kenya was in the school’s dormitory.

Here and there, people who seem to have entered the school come out of the same building.

It is a world with robots, but it is not a near-future building.

It was just a normal Western-style residential area.

Looking around, I ran in a short run to the school, which was a little further away, looking at the map.

Even so, the atmosphere is a little different from that of Japan…

The scenery, the people’s clothes.

Everything is from the world of KOG, which makes me feel uncomfortable.

Here we are…

The building was the same as the military base, I had just seen from the window.

I opened the device – let’s call it the KOG device, from now on – and checked the time: 8:15.

There still seemed to be some time to spare, and a few students like myself passed through the gate here and there.

Just then, a student surrounded by several cronies enters.

“Mr Rod! Here is your schedule for today.”

“Mnn…”
“Rod-sama! I’m so proud of you for choosing me to welcome you to the school.”
“…..!!”
“Rod-sama!” “Lord-Rod”

A blonde-haired, handsome but small boy is lifted by his cronies.

“Is that a… Rod!”

Surrounded by Asgar citizens.

The second prince of the Asgar Empire.

He is supposed to be one of the main characters in the game.

A strategist, an ever-winning military strategist in the KOG world setting, as I recall.

And I think he was such a realist, looking at merit rather than race.

I vaguely remember, but I’m not a KOG pilot, so I don’t remember that much.

Kenya stood there, stunned, looking at him.

“Hey! You!”

He was then approached by one of his cronies, who had noticed his appearance.

He points at himself and looks at Kenya with a look that asks, ‘Is that me?’

“Yeah, you! You’re an inferior dog!”

“Me?”

Kenya points to himself.

The people around him start to murmur, but when he looks over, some students are kneeling and looking down.

“You there, black hair! You’re in the second grade! Why aren’t you kneeling!”

What are you talking about?

Kenya nods his head.

“Fine, inferior dogs. So you say you’re going to defy me.”

The crony suddenly draws the sword at his waist.

“I don’t mind…”

“Your Highness, please don’t stop me. They need to know their place.”

“Oh, really?”

“You inferior dogs of a defeated country! Bow your head and Kneal in front of the royal family!”

Seriously?

“I’m sorry!”

“Uwahhh!”

Just before, the crony raises his sword.

Kenya was drop-kicked from behind.

Rolling, Kenya’s head is grabbed and grinded to the ground.

“I’m sorry! He’s a bit of a dunce! I’ll teach him a lesson. I’ll teach him a lesson.”

“Hey!”

“Shut up! Shut up! Apologise now.”

“I’m sorry.”

Kenya apologizes, feeling that he should obey for the time being due to excessive swordplay.

“Hmph! It’s all right if you understand. From now on, you will become a limb of our empire and let your wasted lives be scattered.”

The cronies then leave.

“Are you an idiot? In front of the imperial family, we must bow down, or we will be cut to death for disrespect!”

The girl is angry at Kenya when he raises his head.

The girl with cat like eyes that are sharp and strong to the core.

Her breasts are… well, not there, but instead her well-trained limbs are toned.

Dressed in a military-like outfit, like a high school uniform, she crosses her arms in front of Kenya.

Let’s be honest, she’s cute.

I have seen her many times, even in my dreams.

But the reality was different.

The girl I see with my two eyes is nothing compared to the virtual image.

She is several times prettier.

She has a rough temperament as it is, and yet she is really a kind girl.

One of the heroines of this game.

Kurokami Kaguya, was standing there.

Kenya slowly approaches.

He reaches out his hand in disbelief.

Tears of emotion welled up in his eyes.

Then.

“Kaguyaaaa!!!”

I hugged her.

“Kyaaaah! What are you doing! Pervert!”

I was slapped and flew through the air.

After that, I was kicked and trampled like crazy.

But that’s a reward for me.

I have hugged her a few times in the game.

Maybe that’s why my body moved on its own. I’m not a pervert by any means.

“I didn’t think you were also a pervert, not just an idiot. I shouldn’t have helped you.”

Kaguya folds his arms in front of Kenya, who sits upright, and looks down at him with harsh eyes.

She is as tsundere as ever.

I’ve only seen tsun.

“Oh, sorry. I just… But thank you for saving me. I’m Kenya Goken. Nice to meet you.”

Kaguya looks at the hand that was held out to her with eyes like she’s looking at filth.

Don’t look at me like that, it gives me the creeps.

“Well… okay, you’re one of the few Japanese. Besides, I know how you feel.”

What? You know how I feel? Kaguya too, wanted a hug?

Kaguya grasped my outstretched hand and shook it.

The eyes looked a little sad.

‘I know you don’t want to bow down. I’m pissed off, too. And I do admire your guts, but no. You can’t be like that.”

Oh, that’s way…

And with Kaguya’s words, Kenya remembers.

The state of this world, the state of this country.

“Ah, I remember…”

The meaning of the letters written on the entrance certificate, ‘2nd Class, Asgar Imperial Citizen’.

This world.

No, this country.

I look up at the flag flying over the school.

But instead of the familiar Japanese flag, there is a completely different flag.

The shield and sword emblem.

In other words, this country, formerly Japan.

“Is occupied by the Asgar Empire.”
