Ning Jin met Wen Ruo who was working part-time at the bar. He threatened her jokingly because he recognized her as a celebrity in the school at a glance and kept three unknown requests from Wen Ruo.  Later on, after some trivial matters, Ning Jin fell in love with Wen Ruo. Even after Wen Ruo had established a relationship with Feng Yangao, she once used those three promises to ask him to be with her. Compared with the silent guard of the male second, Qi Yan, Ning Jin is more like the wind that obstructs the ship in the sea, taking the initiative to attack, but was unpopular.

Qi Yan didn’t want to pay any attention to Ning Jin because he didn’t want to involve Ning Jin.

Early the next morning, when Qi Yan was still in bed, Ning Jin slipped back quietly. Not to mention the smell of alcohol all over his body, he looked like he was not getting enough sleep. However, he did not break his promise and brought back Chen Ji’s famous sweet buns and freshly ground soy milk for Qi Yan.

Qi Yan was awakened when he entered the door. Seeing him lying exhausted on his bed, he couldn’t help but say out loud: “You always get so tired and yet still staying up late. Don’t you have class today?”

Qi Yan’s voice in the early morning was a little hoarse. After he finished speaking, he got out of bed and went to the bathroom to wash. When he came out, Ning Jin was staring at the ceiling with no intention to sleep.

“Aren’t you going to sleep?”

Ning Jin was silent for a while before saying in a daze: “I saw Wen Ruo in the bar last night.”

Qi Yan who was opening the food bag was taken aback: the plot has already begun!

“You say, a good little girl like her, why would she go to work in that kind of place?” Ning Jin seemed puzzled and said regretfully.

Qi Yan naturally picked up the sweet bun, took a bite, chewed and swallowed, then looked at him faintly and said, “Then what about you? A good student, why do you always go to that kind of place?”

“… am I not looking for my own freedom?” Ning Jin was choked hard and began to use the so-called liberalism to put off the issue again.

“I don’t understand you.” Qi Yan finished eating a sweet bun and took another one: “But the medical record was forged well. After taking a look, the dormitory manager looked at me in shock and said, ‘That kid finally got his retribution.’…”

“Pfftt–!” Ning Jin sputtered: “Then why does Uncle always so fixated on me?”

“Who told you to always play wolves? This time Uncle thought it was true, so he was a little happy.”

“…what a different time.” Ning Jin hummed before turning around to face the wall, “I’m sleeping, lock the door from the outside when you leave.”

Qi Yan let out a sigh and continued to eat breakfast.

For people with a light taste like Qi Yan, sweet buns were a bit greasy, but as to not be hungry at work, Qi Yan still had to eat them.

RongTeng’s working hours were notoriously rigorous, from nine to five without delay. Occasionally when individual departments needed to rush to work, they would apply for overtime. However, a formal reason was required to apply for overtime, otherwise it would not be passed!

The dorm was a bit far from RongTeng and it took two hours to arrive by bus. Qi Yan usually went out at 6:30 in case there was any accidents in the way, and there was still time to save.

When he arrived at the planning department, almost everyone was there. A senior went to buy coffee and brought one for Qi Yan.

“This is a reward for everyone’s hard work last night! A cup of coffee! Don’t dislike it!” The head of the planning department raised his glass symbolically and the group of rough men also raised a cup of hot coffee back before drinking it.

After taking a sip of coffee, everyone returned to their posts to do their things. However, the department head stayed for a while and beckoned when he met Qi Yan’s gaze.

“Qi Yan, come here for a while.”
