Chapter 30 – Jian Songyi Wants To Do Something

Bai Huai was stunned upon receiving the hug.

This is not the first time Jian Songyi hugged him.

The first ones were when they were still children. Jian Songyi is not that sensible yet and he always stuck himself with him every day. And then when they encountered Jian Songyi’s differentiation and heat, he also hugged and clung to him.

But they all felt different from this time. At that time, they were soft, unconscious, and a little naughty.

Although the hug was stiff, it was sober and active, with some awkward comfort.

Bai Huai never thought that Jian Songyi would really hug him.

He was just a little annoyed about the “brother” and wanted to tease him, but he suddenly gave him such a big surprise.

Bai Huai, who has always been calm and easy, went so far as to be at a loss for a moment. He stood stiffly in the same place, being held by the same stiff Jian Songyi.

Originally, in Bai Huai’s head, he would be able to smoothly play it out. He will hug Jian Songyi back and tease him about it. But now that it is being unfolded before them, he could only feel the sweat on the palm of his hands out of nervousness.

Bai Huai could not help but laugh at himself. He is really useless.

On the other hand, Jian Songyi promised himself that he would quickly let go after the hug, but somehow he couldn’t let himself do so. In fact, he stayed within the embrace for too long that he noticed a glimpse of Bai Huai’s scar on the back of his neck.

It is very light and not embossed, but the patch of skin is still lightly dimmer in complexion compared to his whitish skin tone. If one won’t look closely, it won’t be noticed at all.

“Do you have a scar?” Jian Songyi questioned.

Bai Huai smiles gently: “You still don’t want to let go that you’re observing me so carefully?”

Jian Songyi suddenly realized that they were still tangled together. With that, he quickly withdrew himself and rubbed his pants twice awkwardly in disgust. “What do you mean? I can’t bear it. It’s hard and awkward to hold you. No wonder everyone likes to hold an Omega. They’re soft and lovely.”

Bai Huai narrowed his eyes at Jian Songyi once again since he is good at grasping the main point. Have you ever held an Omega?”

Did he ever? Jian Songyi only heard it from Lu Qi Feng.

But Jian Songyi would not let himself lose face, so he hardened his gut before replying. “Don’t you think it’s abnormal for an Alpha like me to not hug anyone before?”

Mrs. Tang is an Omega. He also hugged Zhuo Luo when he was 11 years. These barely counted, but he didn’t lie.

Jian Songyi looked at Bai Huai with his head held high, but his eyes couldn’t help but glance away from him guiltily.

Instead of correcting his misuse of words or debunking his guilt, Bai Huai nodded approvingly: “I can see that our Brother Song is quite the flirtatious. No wonder he is so enthusiastic even after becoming an Omega. He is still young, but he has that vital force of a normal teenager.”

“…..”

With a little emphasis on the word ‘vital force’, Jian Songyi suddenly remembered the morning when he reacted to Bai Huai on the training ground.

All of a sudden, he could not stop himself from blushing.

As if on cue, a taxi came just in time. He directly opened the door to the passenger’s seat and sat there. He holds his school bag against him as he leaned on the car window. He pretended to fall asleep by closing his eyes.

Meanwhile, Bai Huai sat in the back seat. He looked through the mirror and noticed Jian Songyi’s flushed cheeks. He continued to watch him while tapping his fingers lightly.

Bitterness.

They have had closer contact with each other several times already these past few days, and on those occasions, Jian Songyi was the one who initiated those. Jian Songyi would even react to him, indicating that he is not rejecting his intimate behavior.

It’s just that Jian Songyi is so dense…

It’s just as they say, no one is perfect.

Bai Huai believes that Jian Songyi could not tell whether he is an Alpha or an Omega anymore. He could also not identify anymore if he likes an Omega, an Alpha, or an ordinary Beta girl.

If Jian Songyi could not see it clearly then how can Bai Huai be sure that he could see his intentions clearly as well? He can’t expect Jian Songyi to be just like himself. That he could love like him regardless of gender. Such a chance is too small for him to dream about.

It’s just that Bai Huai could not abruptly tell Jian Songyi directly and abruptly what was on his mind. He is afraid that if he is not careful enough, he would end up provoking Jian Songyi and he’d eventually lose his temper. He is afraid that he won’t accept it at all and that they will eventually drift further apart from each other.

Bai Huai could not bear to lose Jian Songyi, so he could only try to tempt him and provoke him carefully, hoping that would do the trick to give Jian Songyi hints about what he really feels and make Jian Songyi think about how he really feels about him himself.

And that’s the end of it. Bai Huai does not dare take another step further before getting a clear response from Jian Songyi.

A hug, a scolding, and a little care from Jian Songyi are enough to make his heart go dancing. Those simple things can fill a thick needle of joy in his heart. He would carefully hide it underneath it and wait until he would feel bitter. Bai Huai would then secretly take it out to taste the bliss of sweetness again, but the aftertaste is just as bitter.

Even so, he repeatedly does this, indulging in every phase.

He wants to have him, but Bai Huai is also afraid of losing him. He wants him to be his life. If only it wasn’t for his cowardice.

Bai Huai leaned his head against the car’s window. He slowly closed his eyes in despair and listened to the sycamore leaves of autumn in Nancheng fall on the window.

He imagined the feeling of Jian Songyi’s arms back and wrapped around his torso again. He imagined the way it was encircled on him, feeling his warmth all over him.

There’s still a sweet sensation lingering.

This simple hug is flattering enough for him. Bai Huai can like Jian Songyi for a long time even if he is such a fool at times.

Bai Huai continued trailing on his thoughts that he didn’t realize that the taxi had already parked in front of two European-style buildings. After he did, he got out of the car and went back to his own house. He didn’t even bother to say goodbye.

On the other hand, as soon as Jian Songyi opened the door, he saw a woman in a suit waiting on his couch.

She is wearing a well-tailored hauteur couture suit with her meticulous combed hair. She looks elegant and upright with her sitting posture as well.

From beginning to end, it reveals the general rational self-support of the Bai family, which is in sharp contrast to the delicate and naive Mrs. Tang next to her.

But she happens to be Mrs. Jian Tang’s bestfriend.

Jian Songyi left the door open. “Aunt Yun, when did you get back? Do you want me to get Bai Huai?”

Bai Yun smiles softly at him. “No. Come and sit down. Aunt Yun wants to talk to you.” She said.

Jian Songyi sat down slowly as she said.

Bai Yun is a female Alpha and is still unmarried. Thus when they were still children and their grandfathers can’t even control them, disciplining him and Bai Huai severely fell to Bai Yun. Jian Songyi’s parents support free-range parenting while Bai Huai’s father was too busy at work to be home.

Because of that, both Jian Songyi and Bai Huai respect her very much.

She is an Alpha that can hold up half of the sky in Nancheng’s business world. She must not be underestimated at all. She is gentle but strong, elegant but stubborn, and no one can shake what she believes in so easily. Small Bai Huai grows up around her. She greatly influenced him that even if he calls her aunt, he thinks of her somewhat like his mother as well.

Jian Songyi is almost certain that what they are going to talk about has something to do with Bai Huai.

Sure enough, Bai Yun reached out and gently set up Jian Songyi’s forehead hair, which became messy because he slept against the car window. “Did you just return with Little Huai?”
