Ch38 - Doesn’t know how to mark

Jiang Yunshu arrived at the Imperial Capital Hospital in only ten minutes.

He couldn’t wait any longer for the elevator, so he dashed up the steps. Only when he heard the da-da-da sound underneath him did he realise he was still wearing slippers. The noise was quite irritating.

Bai Tang’s isolation chamber was quite easy to locate. As soon as he reached the corner, he noticed a crowd gathered around.  Lin Baizhou was the first to spot him. “Come quickly! Get a strong suppressant first!”

Jiang Yunshu quickly removed his jacket and pulled up the sleeves of his pyjamas, which he had no time to change. The needle pierced his flesh. He talked straight to the point, “What do I do?”

“Release pacifying pheromones to the patient first.” Lin Baizhou instantly replaced Jiang Yunshu’s pheromone blocker with a stronger one as he spoke. “After that, make a temporary mark and gradually inject pheromones.”

Zheng Ruyun had also been tormented for the last ten minutes. He was scared Jiang Yunsu would be unreasonable and refuse to come to the hospital to save Bai Tang, and he was also afraid Bai Tang’s health would deteriorate as a result of his own blunder.

Fortunately, he eventually spotted the alpha who had been abusing Bai Tang, but he did not recognize him at first look. Both his appearance and demeanour have changed drastically since he first went to school three years ago.

Zheng Ruyun threatened aggressively, “You’d better just make a temporary mark.”

Over time, the two appeared to have cooled down, and they were now physically apart.

Lin Baizhou jibed, “Relax. The isolation chamber has a pheromone detector. If either party’s pheromone concentration becomes too high, it will send out a warning. Our hospital is not as inept as you assume that even the patients’ safety cannot be guaranteed.”

Zheng Ruyun was about to spark off again. “Screw you.”

Dr. Guo hurriedly poked the side of Lin Baizhou’s waist and said in a low voice, “Enough is enough, Dr. Lin! Just pay attention to what you’re saying right now! Wanna get a complaint again?”

Teacher Wang also quickly separated the two, helpless. “It looks like he’s still agitated.”

The rich omega pheromone assaulted Jiang Yunshu as soon as he entered. The sweet aroma was like a savage beast with long, protruding fangs; it surrounded the alpha bit by bit, capturing the prey that entered into its territory, leaving no space to breathe.

Jiang Yunshu had difficulty breathing. It was like falling into a giant jar of sticky, dense toffee, and all five of his senses were shut off. He rubbed the patch against his nape and tried to calm his thoughts and uncontrollable physiological reactions. Then he discovered the bare and huddled Bai Tang under the hospital bed.

Jiang Yunshu squatted, carefully extended out his palm, and hesitantly released a small amount of pheromone. “Bai Tang, can you hear me?”

“Hnn…!”Omega, in his inebriated state, had responded with a whimper, resembling a small animal. His teary eyes peered over in the direction of the scent to crawl over, but his frail body could only squirm helplessly on the floor.

Jiang Yunshu removed his coarse woollen coat, leaving just his comfortable pyjamas. He kept releasing pheromones to soothe him. His palm then met a feverish body, he used one of his arms to draw the omega out, before allowing Bai Tang to sit on his lap, his back against his chest.

Jiang Yunshu pacified, “It’s okay.”

Bai Tang frantically wormed his way into the alpha’s arms, his fingers grabbing the hem of Jiang Yunshu’s garments tightly. He let forth an agonised grunt.

Jiang Yunshu did his best to tune out the overly intimate contact by keeping his gaze fixed on the ground. He reached out his hand to grasp Bai Tang’s thin throat, his palm pressing on the small Adam’s apple. He used a light amount of pressure to press down on his nape, but Bai Tang suddenly struggled and jerked his head around. He wanted to drill a hole in Jiang Yunshu’s stomach pit with his shaking body, feeling exceedingly insecure.

The alpha’s pheromone gradually surpassed the omega’s pheromone in the restricted environment. Jiang Yunshu understood. He loosened the bindings, hoisted Bai Tang’s body, and changed his position, allowing the two to sit face to face.

Bai Tang’s eyes were glazed over, and his pupils were dilated. Instinct pushed him to cling like a koala to the alpha’s neck, choking Jiang Yunshu until he couldn’t breathe. Shortly thereafter, he lifted his head and bumped forward anxiously. He absorbed the pheromones in his saliva, and his Adam’s apple was sliding up and down as he swallowed.

The first kiss Dr. Jiang had been saving for 29 years was snatched away from him without warning.

He froze dumbly for two seconds. The contact on the tip of his tongue caused him to tremble, and he was somewhat unresponsive. Eventually, though, he gave in, opened his lips so that Bai Tang’s tongue could slip inside, and tried to hypnotise himself inwardly, “This is CPR, saving lives is the most important thing.”

However, a few minutes later, Jiang Yunshu was compelled to use force to subdue him. He couldn’t take it any longer and pressed the back of Bai Tang’s head into his shoulders. “Stop, stop, stop! Okay, don’t move, I’ll check your glands.”

When his eyes touched Bai Tang’s nape, he paused. Oh no, where exactly are the glands! With difficulty, he used two fingers to touch the deep and harsh scars inch by inch. As a last ditch attempt, he rubbed his fingers back and forth on Bai Tang’s nape and was able to pinpoint the position of the gland by listening to Bai Tang’s varied groaning tones.

Jiang Yunshu’s gaze glanced over the room before settling on the iodophor on the table. He hurriedly moistened the cotton and cleaned the area around the glands before lifting Bai Tang’s sweaty rear hair. He attempted to recollect the stance demonstrated in the brief junior high school sex education film he had watched. He opened his lips and positioned his canines 36 degrees against the pulsing glands.

Bai Tang had practically become a puddle of water. He used his wet lips and nose to probe Jiang Yunshu’s pheromone blocker, nipping it with his teeth and pressing his waist towards him.

Jiang Yunshu squeezed his upper jaw down and closed his eyes.

When he didn’t feel the expected piercing into the flesh, he opened his eyes, perplexed.

It didn’t bite through!

A drop of sweat fell from his brow. He bit down again, pressing his jaws against the deepest scar on Bai Tang’s nape.

“Ugh!” Bai Tang sobbed in agony, feebly kicking his calf.

Still not it. Jiang Yunshu was driven nuts. He knew that he really tried. Was the method and angle not right? If it dragged on like this, the situation would only get worse. He decisively kissed Bai Tang’s lips sideways, and after giving some pheromones, he bit down hard for the third time.

He tasted blood.

Blood with a high concentration of pheromones rushed down his throat. Jiang Yunshu’s pheromone levels skyrocketed. At some point during the extended duration of biting Bai Tang’s nape, he had to acknowledge that instinct had taken over his sanity for a moment. He was completely gone and could only recall recognising the taste of Bai Tang’s pheromones in a trance.

It wasn’t a sickeningly sweet flavour, nor was it the cloyingly sweet taste of cake, but rather the taste of condensed milk that he had often consumed as a kid.

 ——

The sound of scratching chalk could be heard in the classroom as the lecturer scrawled historical notes on the blackboard. A plane flew past outside the window. Bai Tang pretended to eat it in one mouthful by opening his mouth.

Perhaps the most challenging aspect of his heat had been conquered with the help of the prior four inhibitors he’d taken. He’d heard a doctor say, “You bit too deeply, the bleeding won’t stop,” while he was lying in a stupor in the hospital bed.

Another doctor’s voice said, “How can there be an alpha that doesn’t know how to mark… What’s the point if he can’t do it…”

But he couldn’t recall the specifics. All he knew was that Jiang Yunsu had temporarily marked him. In the enclosed environment full of omega pheromones, he only made a temporary mark.

Bai Tang felt he could no longer ignore the alpha’s changes or convince himself that it was none of his business.

What exactly happened to the alpha after the car accident?

“When it comes to Daoism, I need to give you some intriguing anecdotes to pique your curiosity. You guys often read in cultivation novels about body possessions being mentioned. As early as the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period in China, certain souls continued to exist after death by inhabiting the bodies of other people. For example, it is recorded in [Tsochuan: Zhou Gong's Seven Years ] that Zi Chan says: ‘it’s possible.‘ When a person’s life begins to dissipate, this is referred to as po. When the po emerges, the residual yang essence is referred to as hun. The more essence consumed, the greater the soul's strength. Hence.…”

The smooth-moving nib came to a halt, and the black ink on the white paper smeared the character “夺” eventually rendering it unreadable. Bai Tang cautiously raised his head and fixed his gaze on the history teacher.

“The borrowing of someone else’s body to return to life was said to be a Daoist concept, while another said it was a type of Indian yoga technique. They also claimed that it was founded by Tibetan Esoteric Buddhism. In layman’s terms, body possession occurs when one person’s soul flees into the body of another after death. Despite the fact that Daoism is a branch of theism, a huge number of Daoists and historical figures were atheists…”

Bai Tang didn’t manage to listen to the rest of the lecture.

When the dismissal bell rang, Bai Tang’s consciousness was roused back to his body. Looking down, a page on the notebook was filled with the word “soul”.

(Not part of the main story)

Jiang Yunshu, who didn’t manage to bite the third time, decisively pressed the intercom on the wall.

“How’s it going!” it was Doctor Guo’s voice.

Jiang Yunshu said, “I don’t know how to mark him!”

Zheng Ruyun and Teacher Wang outside the door were at a loss.

The only alpha present, Dr. Lin, took over the intercom and said irritably, “How the fuck am I supposed to teach you this?! Just aim at the gland and bite it! Bite really hard!!”

ps: The flaw I mentioned in the previous chapter was that at the last moment, Dr. Lin shouted “Jiang Yunshu” in a hurry.
