Young Brother-in-law Is Now My Husband

Chapter 49: Relaxing Under The Starry Sky

"How was the kiss?" Jiang Yang asked.

Jiang Yuyan's eyes widened as she looked at him and sat up from her resting position.

"What? I mean… how do you know, brother?" She hadn't expected anyone, let alone her brother to know of such a private matter.

"Don't panic. Lean back on the chair, and we will continue to talk about it." Jiang Yang comforted without looking at her, and his eyes still admiring the stary sky.

She did as he said but continued to stare at him until he grew conscious of her stare and reprimanded her for it.

"Stop staring at me, Yuyan."

When finally she moved her shocked gaze from him to look at the sky, he explained.

"When you didn't return after a long time, I felt worried and came to the lawn to check on you. When I exited the hall, a beautiful girl in a blue dress ran past me as she was crying. Ignoring her, when I came away from the hall, I saw you and your man in the gazebo in an intimate position, so I guess the girl cried because of the live performance by you two. Am I right?"

"Yes, you're right, but he is not man, and why didn't you come to me when you saw someone kissing your sister?" she retorted, looking back at the sky.

"I would have, but the kiss didn't seem to be forced upon you. Instead, you were..." Jiang Yang was cut off by her urgency.

"Got it! Got it!"

The two continued to stare at the starry night sky with pleasant expressions on their faces. It was about one in the morning, and the two enjoyed the calmness of the ambiance. Their eyes were fixed on the alluring sky as they conversed in low voices.

"How was it?" Jiang Yang asked casually.

She broke into a little smile, having figured out instantly what her older brother meant.

"You must be the only brother on the planet who asks his sister about her kiss instead of scolding her."

"Don't you like the way your brother is?" he asked, not minding to her words.

"I do like it. I consider myself fortunate," she replied softly.

"Then answer my question," he demanded.

"Urm…" she contemplated and replied. "It was good."

"Just good?" he teased. "I must have overestimated Lu Qiang's ability."

"No!" she protested out of the blue. "He—he was… very… good."

Hesitation was evident in her tone.

"So you liked it," he deadpanned.

"Yes!" She blushed scarlet, and her face revealed a small smile.

She was glad that her brother wasn't looking at her at that moment, or she would have had a hard time saying these things if he was looking at her.

"How was your first kiss?" She asked. It was her first time asking something so private.

It wasn't that she couldn't ask him, but it was that the opportunity never came up. The sky was rendered the referee in their conversation, and the calmness of it gave her the freedom to open up to her brother.

It was the same for Jiang Yang; he, too, was nothing like his usual self- adamant on annoying her.

"It was good," he replied. "But the second, third, and each one after that only got better."

Jiang Yuyan smiled politely, but her brother continued to talk.

"The first kiss was normal. But after that, it was always the French style. Ahhh, I miss my days in America." He let out a deep sigh.

"I only asked for a summary, but you wrote a full-length essay?" she commented.

"I always received full marks for my essays. Summaries were never my thing." Jiang Yang pretended not to hear her jibe.

"Was with Crystal your first kiss?" she asked hesitantly.

"Yes!" came the firm reply.

"Do you still miss her?" She peeked at his expression.

"Can't say."

"I'm sorry, brother," she murmured.

"For what?" he asked, surprised.

"You broke up with her because of me."

"Hey, don't blame yourself for what happened. I believe that people who truly love each other always find their way together in the end." He seemed to have a peaceful expression on his face.

"Then… will you go back?" she trailed off.

"She has someone in her life now."

"Oh!" This surprised her.

"Don't feel sorry for me. There are loads of girls who go crazy over your handsome brother. I'll never suffer from a lack of kisses." He smiled as he looked at the sky. Sensing his sister's confusion, he began speaking again. "That day, you asked me if it was necessary to have a boyfriend or girlfriend to kiss."

"Yes."

"I say it's not necessary at all." Jiang Yang proclaimed proudly.

"Are you a playboy, brother?" Jiang Yuyan asked, almost outraged.

"No!" he countered. "I am not a person who will refuse if my favorite dessert is in front of me." He paused for a bit before beginning again. "Life is short, dear sister. Live it the way you want. The little time on your hands will pass rapidly, and if you let chances go, you will only be left with regret. Just live a carefree life without thinking about what others have to say. Follow your heart and don't stop at anything to attain your happiness," He said, and she continued to listen.

"Will you say the same if I had sex with someone?" Jiang Yuyan asked.

"I don't see a problem with that. I am a doctor, and I consider it one of our body's necessities. Just like our body needs oxygen, food, and water, it needs sex too," came the practical reply from the brother.

"Hmm!" Jiang Yuyan nodded as is she agreed.

Her brother continued, "Just remember not to do anything that you will regret and don't regret if you end up doing something. Having regrets is the worst part of the carefree Life."

"Have you?" she trailed off, not wanting to spell it out, embarrassment getting the better of her.

"Yes, just once with Crystal," Jiang Yang said lightly.

"And what about the other girls you were close to?"

"I never felt the need to take the final step." He shrugged.

"Why?" Jiang Yuyan questioned.

"I don't know. I just didn't feel it from my heart."
