Young Brother-in-law Is Now My Husband

Chapter 53: It's Too Late Now...

Next Morning...At The Ming Mansion....

A white luxury car arrived at the gate of Ming Mansion, and a man in his early fifties walked out of the vehicle. The man was wearing a grey suit paired with black shoes, a spectacle with a black frame settled at his nose.

He was not too tall but had a right height with a muscular build and considered as a good-looking man considering his age. He looked impressive with his half grey hair combed back in a perfect hairstyle as he walked inside the mansion with no expressions on his face where a female servant welcomed him.

"Welcome, Master Zhang." the servant greeted as she bowed to him.

"Where is everyone?" He asked in his heavy voice.

"Everyone just finished their breakfast and went to their respective rooms," the servant replied.

"Is my sister in her room?" Asked the man while looking in the direction of the stairs.

"Yes! Madam is in her room, and the master is in the study," the servant replied.

"Hmm!"

The man walked upstairs and knocked on the door of one of the rooms.

"Come in."

Hearing the woman's voice from the inside of the room, the man entered it as he greeted, "Good morning, elder sister."

Zhang Jie was sitting in the chair in her room with her eyes closed while thinking deeply about something. Recognizing the voice, she opened her eyes, "Good Morning! Zhang Wei."

Zhang Wei was Zhang Jie's younger brother and her only sibling. He was one of the famous businessmen in the capital and held great power in his hands. He had an excellent political connection, too, which made him powerful among elites in the capital.

Zhang Wei sat on the couch in the room beside the chair on which his sister was sitting.

"How's everyone?"

"Good! As usual."

Zhang Jie replied with the same serious expressions without looking at him. She was staring at the tree outside of her window and was busy in her thoughts.

Zhang Wei noticed her severe behavior and asked, "Are you like this because of the matter between Mings and the Lu family?"

"You know it better." She said it and gave out a deep sigh.

"I know! Yesterday, That bastard Lu Jinhai celebrated his parent's wedding anniversary grandly. Every newspaper is filled with the news of that event. You, too, must have received the invitation just like me." He asked with bitter expressions on his face.

"Hmm!"

She felt tired after thinking about the events in the past and the present, and didn't have the will talk to anyone or to do anything.

Zhang Jei's silence encouraged her brother, and he exclaimed, "That Lu Jinhai! How dare he send it to us even after sinning our families. Is he trying to show us how happy he is or want to make us forget everything by coming close to us?"

"You don't have the right to get upset with him. You didn't lose anything." Zhang Jei said it calmly and closed her eyes.

Her words angered the brother Zhang Wei as he spoke in high pitch, "I didn't lose anything? Really? How can you say it, sister? You know how much I loved Ming Fangsu. Even after her death, I still love her and didn't even think about getting married. I am living my life with her memories alone."

"Lower your voice first. It's not something to brag about. You are paying for your own sins," the sister warned, but her voice was calm without getting affected by his angry voice.

"My sin? What did I do wrong? Loving her was not the mistake I made. I know I was wrong at that time, but the main reason for everything was that bastard Lu Jinhai. Everything happened just because of him." He said and clutched the handrest of the couch.

"I guess, I don't need to tell you who is responsible for everything." Zhang Jie countered.

"I don't care what you think, elder sister. For me, the only reason for everything was Lu Jinhai, and that's the truth. He took away the person I loved and left me to suffer from the pain for a lifetime. I will make him suffer from the same. He has to go through the pain of losing someone precious." He declared, getting angrier when he saw that his sister was not blaming Lu Jinhai.

After listening to his last line, Zhang Jie opened her eyes and looked at him furiously. "Don't you dare to do anything outrageous otherwise, I don't know if I'll be able to keep silent anymore."

The brother turned furious too. "I don't care about anything. I lost her, and now I don't have anything more to lose. Money and power-I don't need it, and I don't care if I lose it all. I lived with only one goal all these years, and that's to destroy the Lu family, and I'll do it whatever it takes. I just need my revenge."

Declaring, Zhang Wei got up from the couch to leave the room.

"You...! I am warning you for the last time. Don't dare to touch that family," Zhang Jei warned with as much strength as she could gather to raise her voice to stop her brother.

Zhang Wei stopped in his track facing the door but didn't look back at his sister. "Sorry, sister! I can't listen to you." Opened the door and left the room in haste.

Zhang Jie could say nothing further as he left the room before she could stop him. Tears rolled down from her eyes as she mumbled.

"I made a mistake. It's too late now."

Leaning back in the chair with her eyes closed, she could not hold back her tears and continued crying.

Both Zhang Jie and Zhang Wei were unaware that someone heard their conversation while standing outside the room's door.

Without meeting other Ming family members, Zhang Wei got out of the mansion, anger evident on his face. He sat inside his car, and his driver moved the vehicle away from the Ming mansion.

His sight followed the newspaper in his car and tore the page that had Lu Family's photograph. Gritting his teeth and crunching the newspaper in his hands, he mumbled.

"Lu Jinhai! Last time you were lucky to survive the accident, but I'll give you the most painful wound in your life. Just wait and watch."
