Young Brother-in-law Is Now My Husband

Lu Qiang stood frozen in his place while looking at Jiang Yuyan, disappearing from his sight. The guilt filled his heart that he couldn't dare to stop her or follow her. 

Once he had left alone, feeling helpless, Lu Qiang sat on the sofa, leaning forward as his elbows rested on his knees, his face buried in his palm. Not knowing what to do, he continued sitting there quietly. 

He was regretful towards his actions as he never thought it could affect Jiang Yuyan severely. He sat there for a long time as his mind was in a mess. Running his fingers through his hair, he leaned back on the sofa while giving out a deep sigh.

For a moment, Lu Qiang thought to call Jiang Yuyan, but he was busy with the surgery. Moreover, what could he had said that when Jiang Yang left his sister with him, trusting him, he just broke his trust. 

Looking in the direction of the stairs, Lu Qiang stood up from the sofa to go upstairs as he felt worried about Jiang Yuyan and stood in front of her room. 

He raised his hand to knock on the door, but stopped and instead placed his palm on it as if he were feeling her presence inside the room.

Standing there with his eyes closed, Lu Qiang felt pain as if someone pierced his heart with numerous needless. He couldn't gather the courage to go inside to console or apologize to her. 

For him, all this was his fault. The way she covered herself with her hands circling her chest flashed in front of his eyes again and again, and he couldn't help but hate himself for crossing the line.

'I asked her for a kiss, she trusted me and stayed back, but what did I do?.... I took advantage of her trust and crossed the line… Was it that difficult to control?.... Why did I do that?..... Why didn't I stop?… Now I can't even face her?'

Just then, Lu Qiang heard a sound from inside of the room. It was the sound of a door. He understood Jiang Yuyan must have come out of the bathroom. 

He concentrated on knowing what she was doing. He heard the sound of a drawer opened and closed loudly, the sound of water poured into a glass, and then the sound of a glass put on the table with the loud noise 

'Thud!!'

After a few moments, Lu Qiang heard the sound of her climbing into the bed and thought she will sleep now, but he didn't move from there. Instead, Lu Qiang sat outside, resting his back at the wall beside the room's door, trying to listen to any movement inside, just to know what she was doing. 

Slowly time passed by, but there was no sound, closing his eyes, he rested his head on the wall and eventually fell asleep.

Jiang Yuyan continued sitting on the floor while crying. She was crying not because of the memories of her past, but because she disappointed him and herself too. 

For the first time in her life, Jiang Yuyan liked to be with someone and get closer to him. She tried her best, but never she thought her past would flash in front of her eyes at such a beautiful moment. More than herself, she felt bad for Lu Qiang.

'He made me feel those beautiful feelings that I could never even thought about and always kept myself away from it, but in return, what did I do to him?..... I made him feel guilty for letting me experience it….It was the first time when I said his name after so many years, but for what?.... Just to apologize to him.'

Jiang Yuyan remembered Lu Qiang's reaction when she covered herself with her arms around her chest. Though she didn't look at him at that moment, she saw him took a few steps back in shock. 

She knew he must be thinking, all this was his fault and must be feeling guilty, although he had nothing to do with it.

When she remembered his apologetic words, her heart sank. It was her fault to make him feel guilty. He didn't force her for anything, but still, he ended up being a culprit just because of her.

She continued crying as so many thoughts rushed in her mind.

'No! I can't hurt him…. I am no good for him... I should stay away from him….. I can't let him walk with me on the painful path of my life.'

Sitting on the floor silently for some time, she calmed herself down and got up to go to the bathroom. Cleaning her face, she came out and went to the bedside table. 

She opened the top drawer forcefully, picked up a medicine pack, took out two tablets, put that pack back inside, and closed it forcefully again.

After taking medicines, she went to the door of the room and thought about going out to see how Lu Qiang was and what he was doing, but she dropped the idea as she decided to stay away from him. 

She stepped back towards the bed and slept on it, covering herself with a quilt, not knowing Lu Qiang was standing outside the door, trying to understand what she was doing. 

If she had opened the door or if he had knocked on the door, both would have faced each other and might have talked it out.

In the morning, around 6 o'clock, the door of the apartment unlocked and Jiang Yang entered. Not making any noise, he removed his shoes and wore the in-house slippers. 

He went to the kitchen and drank some water. Feeling the silence around, he thought, these two must be sleeping and went upstairs to go to his room.

When he reached upstairs, a surprising thing welcomed him. He saw Lu Qiang was sleeping outside of his sister's room with the support of the wall. He smiled looking at him but didn't wake him up and went to his room.
