Your Distance

Chapter 88

Bai Changyi walked to the roof of the snow-covered building, only to see the cactus on the fence a distance away, footprints leading from the door to the fence, but there seemed to be no one else around.

He took two steps forward before something suddenly tightened around his waist. Someone hugged him from behind, as warm breaths and a kiss fell upon his neck. He turned around to see Ting Shuang covered with snow from head to toe, the tip of his nose red due to the cold, but his eyes were bright.

In that brightness, there was both tenderness and determination, like the winter breeze at dawn.

The two of them stood close, looking at each other, their reunion making the time they’d spent apart feel less like a loss, and more like something they’d gained. They had gained yearning, gained the accumulation of those thoughts and yearning, and there were suddenly so many more things that they shared between them. After being such a vast distance apart, now that they could see each other again, it felt like they’d already been together for many years.

Ting Shuang took the coffee from Bai Changyi’s hands and joked, “Sneaking out to go on a date during working hours can’t be good, right, Professor?”

Bai Changyi laughed, “It is my duty to spend my working time on students.”

After saying so, he lowered his head and kissed the tip of Ting Shuang’s nose, then moved further down to kiss his lips.

It had been months since they’d last kissed, and when his lips were suddenly pried open, Ting Shuang felt like it was a bit unfamiliar and was even a little nervous. He held onto Bai Changyi’s coat, his whole body trembling as a result of that possessive kiss, as if it was his first kiss.

The bitter cold air made the scent of hormones that Bai Changyi always brought with him even more compelling.

When Bai Changyi’s lips left his, he gasped, his eyes teary and his voice low and hoarse, “Babe, you better not fulfil this duty of yours with anyone else.”

If it was possible, Bai Changyi would have liked to only fulfil his duties to Ting Shuang throughout the day, but it was a working day.

Ting Shuang also knew that. He was very familiar with Bai Changyi’s schedule for this semester, and Bai Changyi had a seminar this morning. If he had passed the Robotik course last semester, then he originally could have been able to select this advanced seminar talk with a capacity of 20 people this semester.

“I’m jealous of your students.” He glanced at his watch and said to Bai Changyi, “They’ll see you in ten minutes.”

Bai Changyi also glanced at his watch, “It’s actually in twenty minutes.”

“Doesn’t class start at 8:15?” Ting Shuang looked at Bai Changyi’s watch. The time on it was the same as the time on his. “It’s already five past eight.”

Bai Changyi said, “I decided to be ten minutes late. Let them wait.”

“Tsk tsk(1), our great Professor Bai also knows how to be late?” Ting Shuang put his arms around Bai Changyi’s neck.

Bai Changyi looked down at Ting Shuang, smiling, “It can’t be helped, since the heavy snow resulted in a traffic jam.”

“Then…” Ting Shuang nipped Bai Changyi’s jaw, “What are we going to do with these twenty minutes?”

Before Bai Changyi could answer, he couldn’t hold back from saying, “Oh my God… I really missed you, can I tail behind you all day today? Can you tell your students that I’m a new personal robot boyfriend that has just been developed through research?”

Bai Changyi wanted to laugh, but Ting Shuang looked so pitiful that his heart melted painfully. He caressed Ting Shuang’s hair, “Ting, I think they’re all your classmates.”

Ting Shuang buried his head in the crook of Bai Changyi’s neck, “…I know.”

Bai Changyi said, “And my net worth isn’t so low that I’d need a robot boyfriend.”

Ting Shuang laughed, “I know.”

“Then, where do I wait for you during your lessons?” he asked Bai Changyi.

Bai Changyi thought for a moment, “I’ll ask Marie to go to the laboratory and get me a copy of some data.”

Ting Shuang’s eyes lit up, “Then you’ll smuggle me into your office?”

One behind the other, the two of them made their way downstairs. Bai Changyi distracted the secretary while Ting Shuang slipped into Bai Changyi’s office. After entering his office, he closed the door and pushed Bai Changyi onto the chair, then sat straddling his thigh.

The wanton kiss quickly got him hard, but it was not long before the office door was knocked on.

“Professor?” Marie‘s voice sounded from outside.

Ting Shuang immediately hid under the desk.

Bai Changyi smoothed down his collar and said, “Please enter.”

As Marie walked in, Ting Shuang pulled down the zipper of Bai Changyi’s trousers.

Marie put a USB flash drive on Bai Changyi’s desk, “Aren’t you going to class?”

Bai Changyi sat still, “I’m about to— Mmph.”

Marie said, “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing.” Bai Changyi pinched Ting Shuang’s jaw under the table, preventing him from biting again, “I think one of my students will cause some trouble.”

After Marie exited, Bai Changyi dragged Ting Shuang out from under the table. Ting Shuang licked his lips, tempting him, “Am I causing trouble? Professor, are you going to punish me?”

“That’s right.” Bai Changyi gave Ting Shuang a kiss, and then pointed to the USB flash drive that Marie had passed to him just now. “Process the experiment data in it before I come back from class. If there’s anything you don’t know how to do, search it up yourself. “

Ting Shuang: ?

Forget it, work was work. He was doing it for his husband anyway.

After finishing his task, Bai Changyi still hadn’t come back. Ting Shuang was bored and walked around the office but found nothing interesting. Suddenly, the devil sent an evil thought into his head.

I wonder what Bai Changyi usually does on the Internet when he’s alone in the office…

Ting Shuang sneakily opened the browser and clicked to open his browsing history.

This kind of browsing history was just too normal…

Ting Shuang did not give up, and continued to scroll down the history organised in chronological order.

Oh, materials needed to apply for research funding… It turned out that big-shots like Bai Laoban also needed to apply for research funding… After all, all professors had to apply for research funding, not to mention that Bai Laoban was in charge of the entire institute. He probably required a lot of money…

He didn’t have to eat dinner with any of the donors for their scientific research, right?

Then wouldn’t it be better if Bai Laoban ate with him in the future? He could donate the shares and assets that Ting Yun gave him to Bai Laoban to fund his research…

After making the decision, Ting Shuang closed that page and continued looking through the history.

But the browsing history on Bai Changyi’s office computer really was normal. He skimmed through many pages, but didn’t see anything unrelated to work.

He was about to close the browser history when he got a shock from the words that appeared on the screen.

After staring at the browsing history for a while, he went to look at the records from a few months ago.
