Chu Jia Ri, who was carrying Chu Chuan’s bag and trailing behind, started gnashing his teeth

He suppressed his emotions and was about to turn around when he felt his collar getting pulled. He turned back and found Chu Chuan, “Follow me.”

Chu Jia Ri didn’t move. Though an uneasy feeling, however, rose.

Chu Chuan waited for him a few hundred meters away from the others. Chu Jia Ri lowered his head and dragged his feet over, before he could say anything, Chu Chuan got straight to the point, “Is this game of love fun, Chu Jia Ri?”

Chu Jia Ri froze, biting his lips and refusing to speak.

“I gave you an answer when you confessed. But you weren’t satisfied and wanted to try, I also agreed to that. Now we have proof that trying won’t always change things. Chu Jia Ri,” His voice hardened, “Raise your head and tell me. Has there been any changes to our relationship in the past 2 months?”

Chu Jia Ri stubbornly refused to raise his head, wanting to refute him yet nothing came out of his mouth.

“Not everyone will spoil you like your family. Let’s end this 2 months of torture, I hope you can control your emotions in front of me next time. Or, you could also choose to not look for me until you learn to control it.”

Chu Jia Ri snapped, “Aren’t you just saying this because of Jiang Yi?! Didn’t you say you didn’t like him?”

“I’m not obligated to answer your question,” Chu Chuan frowned, his eyes lowering almost coldly.

“I don’t know what agreement you have with Jiang Yi but you stuck a love letter for me from your classmate on the announcement board back in high school. If Jiang Yi didn’t have blackmail on you, you definitely wouldn’t let him pursue me.”

As if silently affirming his words, Chu Jia Ri didn’t speak for a long time. When he opened his mouth again, he couldn’t stop his lips from trembling, “Is my status as a childhood friend below someone you’ve just met a month ago?”

As if desperate, he stared into Chu Chuan’s eyes and asked, “We’ve known each other for so long, can’t you just choose me this once?”

Chu Chuan looked at him with an odd expression, “My choice comes from my heart.”

    Chu Jia Ri’s eyes brightened.

    “I choose Jiang Yi.”

After saying that, even Chu Chuan himself had been shocked, a flash of confusion flitting past his eyes. As if the answer from the last second was from the bottom of his desires, without a second thought.

Chu Jia Ri’s face cracked. The blood left his face as if the sky was about to fall.

When the two of them returned, Chu Jia Ri used his hand to block the light and mumbled something about being dehydrated and wanting to go back to the bus first.

Chang Xi asked him a few questions out of concern and Chu Jia Ri answered them as usual. He looked for Jiang Yi in the end, “I have something to tell you.”

Jiang Yi stood up and followed him to the shade away from the others, then crossed his arms and leaned against the tree, “What is it this time? Don’t go near Chu Chuan after you leave?”

Surprisingly, Chu Jia Ri didn’t refute him, only putting down the hand he had been using to block the sun.

Noticing the dull eyes of the other, Jiang Yi straightened up in surprise, retracting the joking expression on his face.

Chu Jia Ri’s pupils trembled, asking him in an odd voice, “Why must you chase another Chu Chuan?”

He didn’t understand what ‘another Chu Chuan’ meant, Chu Chuan was Chu Chuan. In this world, there will only be one Chu Chuan. But he could hear very clearly that Chu Jia Ri wasn’t joking this time.

And he didn’t seem to want his answers either.

“You should know how much Chuan ge likes you! But why is it that after you came here, you could forget about Chu Chuan as easily as eating lunch and continue to chase another Chu Chuan as if nothing was wrong? Have you never thought what would happen to the other Chu Chuan after you left?! Have you never thought that your actions here would be considered as betraying and cheating on that Chu Chuan?”

“Why?! Is it because you’re too cold blooded? Or do you just not dare to think about it?!” Chu Jia Ri scoffed, “Two Chu Chuans. One has memories of loving you while the other doesn’t. Did you really think the Chu Chuan with no memories would be the same as the Chu Chuan you love?”

Jiang Yi stood stunned, but he quickly controlled his emotions and smiled, “Chu Jia Ri, I have no obligation to answer your questions. After all, you’ll always be a brother in Chu Chuan’s eyes.”

Chu Jia Ri left soon after.

But Jiang Yi still stood in the same spot. He closed his eyes and took off his hat, revealing a pale face and pupils that widened in struggle and unease.

Is he cold-blooded? Of course not.

Is the 19 year old Chu Chuan the Chu Chuan he loved? He hesitated.

The secret he had buried for years was revealed coldly under the light, his stomach doing flips. No matter how much of the other’s words were lies, there was one thing he got right. Jiang Yi would rather be a turtle hiding in its shell, drawing warmth from the 19 year old Chu Chuan than to face the truth.

He refused to imagine what Chu Chuan’s life would be like after he left.

Wind suddenly blew on the mountain, causing the leaves above him to make a shua, shua sounds, strands of light sneaking in from the gaps. Jiang Yi stood under the intersecting light, yet he didn’t feel any warmth.
