During the basketball match on Tuesday evening, the sports hall of A University was full of students from this university and the one opposite them. Standing in the center of the sports hall, you would see a sea of people above.

Chu Chuan had ended up being the focus of the entire match. He did a layup and won them the point at match point, making the entire hall erupt into cheers.

After the referee blew the whistle, the brave girls sitting on both sides shouted out the number on his shirt and confessed, but Chu Chuan wasn’t moved, not even sparing a glance at them.

A pretty cheerleader wearing an umbrella skirt and revealing her stomach passed him a towel and water. Her smile was innocent yet her curved eyes seemed to speak for themselves. Chu Chuan stopped, pausing on the girl’s beautiful eyes for just one second before politely declining and walking over to Zhong Yu.

    “Where are their seats?”

“You Chu Jia Ri’s and Jiang Yi’s?” Zhong Yu responded half a beat late, “They didn’t come.”

    “What?”

    “Who didn’t come?”

    “Both of them.”

    “……”

He could understand why Chu Jia Ri didn’t— he threatened him just last week after all. But why didn’t Jiang Yi come? Chu Chuan didn’t understand. He had made sure to use the gentlest tone he could muster when he was talking to him that day so why isn’t he here?

Chu Chuan was never someone that looked for trouble, but he grabbed the shirt lying on the bench and said, “I have something to do so I’ll go first.”

“Don’t go! We’re still debating where to go and celebrate.”

Chu Chuan didn’t look back, “Text me the address.”

Sitting by the flowerbed[1] in front of the sports hall, Jiang Yi bid farewell to the excited fangirls walking out, his gaze never moving away from the entrance of the hall.

However, even until everything returned to its peaceful state, the person he was waiting for still hadn’t appeared.

It was his fault, to be honest. He shouldn’t have let the bullshit Chu Jia Ri said get into his head, making him forget about the basketball match. Jiang Yi still remembered that Chu Chuan had won this game beautifully last time.

After waking up and returning to 18, his father had gotten younger, but he was still his father. So why wasn’t this Chu Chuan the same Chu Chuan?

19 year old Chu Chuan liked spice, baked milk[2], games and basketball. When he wasn’t going out, he’d wear a tank top and large pants. When he was going out, he’d wear a large t-shirt and jeans, together with sports shoes— in a straight man’s fashion. He tricked numerous girls from the school into confessing because of this.

If this wasn’t the Chu Chuan he liked then who could it be?

Two worlds couldn’t exist, the things Chu Jia Ri said were never true in the first place. 19 year old Chu Chuan and 30 year old Chu Chuan just existed in a different time.

It was like the problem about connecting 9 dots[3]. If one couldn’t jump out of the box the 9 dots had confined them in, they would never be able to solve it. Throwing away the preconditions set for Chu Jia Ri’s words, it’s all basically bullshit.

So was his brain broken or something? He followed Chu Jia Ri’s thought process and was stuck in this odd loop of “two worlds”, thinking for a whole two days and ended up missing Chu Chuan’s basketball match.

Jiang Yi has never noticed more clearly than now that after he had returned to being his 19 year old self, he was slowly assimilating with this youthful shell, assimilating with the equally youthful circle of friends he has, believing that he was really just a 19 year old university student.

As his thoughts scrambled, Jiang Yi stood up from the flowerbed and took out his phone, wanting to contact Chu Chuan. He suddenly felt a weight on his back, feeling someone’s hand on his neck and another one covering his eyes. They whispered, “Guess who I am?”

Jiang Yi’s mind had instantly conjured up the person he wanted to see. But even if the other tried their best to change their voice, he could still differentiate that it wasn’t Chu Chuan. Besides, 19 year old Chu Chuan wouldn’t do something so boring.

Jiang Yi answered, uninterested, “Zhong Yu.”

The boy moved his hand away in shock, tapping his chin in contemplation, “I never knew you were this skilled, Jiang Yi. We’ve only known each other for a week and you already remember my voice?”

I’ve clearly known you for multiple years already, okay.

After his inner monologue, he asked, “You guys won, right? Where’s Chu Chuan? Didn’t he come out with you?”

Zhong Yu’s lazy voice sounded, “Chu Chuan? He left already.”
