“Don’t move.”

With her arms hanging around Jin Siming’s neck, Yao Jin stood on tippy toes as she stepped closer and whispered in her ear with a low and hoarse voice.

When Jin Siming heard her words, her body instinctively wanted to obey and stop moving.

Then she realized that her reaction wasn’t quite right and her face flushed red as she grabbed Yao Jin’s hand that was still on her waist. She said anxiously, “H-Haven’t you’ve had enough!”

“Let me hug you a little longer.”

The originally soft and quiet voice became attractive and magnetic when it turned low and hoarse. It was as if Yao Jin was acting like a spoiled girlfriend asking her partner to hold her a little longer. Jin Siming’s ears softened at the sound of her voice, and she forcibly pushed Yao Jin away from her.

Her entire body trembled nervously, her back facing Yao Jin, as she said in surprise, “What d-did you say just now?”

Yao Jin’s breathing slowly evened out as the full meaning of her words caught up to her. Her face slowly began to heat up as well.

After becoming a teenager, she had seldomly blushed or acted like a child. That sentence just now however…..she really didn’t know why she blurted that out just now.

Thankfully, Jin Siming couldn’t see her face right now.

And that meant she couldn’t see her blushing. Yao Jin tried to slow down her breathing and calm down. Her ruby red lips parted slightly as she took two slow and deep breaths to quickly calm herself.

“Were you acting cute with me just now?”

At this moment, Jin Siming’s brain finally started functioning normally again. With her lips hooked up, she seized this opportunity to make fun of Yao Jin.

But is Yao Jin someone who will let herself be made fun of so easily? She looked neither embarrassed nor anxious as she replied back with a smile, “If classmate Jin wants to hear some more cute words, I can say a few more lines just for you?”

“Hiss…..” Jin Siming took a deep breath. For a moment there, she really did want to hear Yao Jin say a few more cute words like a spoiled child…

But then in the next second, she shook aside that ridiculous thought that had flashed through her brain. She straightened up, “I-I don’t want to hear any words! If you don’t let go soon, this evening’s self-study period will be over soon.”

Yao Jin faintly sighed, “Don’t you think I also want to let go too?”

The sky has grown dark and the lights in the dorms next to them have turned on already. She also wanted to quickly leave this place before anyone finds them here, but an Alpha’s pheromones have too much influence over an Omega. Not to mention, for particular reasons, Jin Siming’s pheromones were particularly attractive and tempting to her. She may have recovered her senses, but there was an instinctive reaction to cling to Jin Sming’s body and she couldn’t use her own strength to stand up by herself right now.

“Is it because of that pheromone dependency thing again?” Jin Siming raised her eyebrows, “You can’t blame me for that. It was you who jumped on me and then bit me.”

“Oh? So you’re finally willing to talk about what happened in the infirmary that day?”

Jin Siming cursed herself for the slipup and then bit her tongue to stop herself from speaking again.

A chin nuzzled into a comfortable place on her shoulder and Yao Jin continued, “I’m sorry for biting you, but….how did I come to bite you in the first place?”

“That’s irrelevant!” Jin Siming gritted her teeth while trying to maintain her dignity, “I’m not obliged to give you free hugs or any other sort of comfort. Now if you beg me with a humble voice, I might-”

Before she could finish her harsh words, she heard Yao Jin say something softly in her ear.

“Pretty please~”

Her legs shook, barely supporting the combined weight of the two of them. Jin Siming furiously rubbed her burning, itchy ears, “Yao Jin….do you still have any dignity?! Are you not ashamed?”

Yao Jin’s voice put on an aggrieved tone, “Weren’t you the one who asked me to beg you?”

Jin Siming: “…”

The two stood there quietly for a while before Yao Jin finally said in a soft and soothing tone, “Alright, just give me a little more time and I should be okay. As for what you did today….thank you.”

Hearing Yao Jin’s sincerely thanking her, Jin Siming’s quarrelsomeness flared up again, “Don’t think too much about it. It was Li Yong who insisted on dragging over in the name of support.”

“No matter why you did it, I should still thank you and…” Yao Jin said with half-closed eyes, a restrained smile on her lips, “I may have brought you some trouble, but you don’t have to worry. I’ll solve it as soon as possible so it won’t cause you any big trouble.”

Jin Siming sneered, “The troubles you have brought me have never stopped, alright? But, that Qin Ziqing and Tao Jing just now, just what kind of characters did you provoke…”

She thought of that sinister smile on Tao Jing’s face when she ripped off her suppressant sticker just now. It felt a lot like she was being stared down by a poisonous snake. Even now goosebumps rose up on her arms in disgust.

In school, those who tear off their suppressants without authorization and release their pheromones in order to fight are dealt with harshly and seriously. If the circumstances are especially serious, not only will they be expelled from school, but they’ll even have this black mark be permanently recorded on their file. To be recorded down as a potential threat to society, a mark that will have a great impact on your future.

That was probably the reason why Tao Jing tore off her suppressant sticker just now in the woods. She probably wanted to frame her in front of the teachers and then have them charge her with the crime of releasing her pheromones without authorization during a fight. Since she is also a high-ranked Alpha, if she really was charged with such a crime then the consequences would definitely be severe.

Fortunately, Yao Jin was able to pull her way before the teacher came. Otherwise, even if everyone else testified for her, things would have become rather troublesome if she was caught.

This Tao Jing really is a vicious and hateful person.

Jin Siming tightly clenched her fists as she frowned.

She has never had any contact with such a person before. Her social circles have always been simple and small. After finding a companion she can get along with on a regular basis, she doesn’t bother making friends with other people and at most she’ll make a few nodding acquaintances.

So after Tao Jing tore off her suppressant, her first emotion was confusion in her foggy-minded state. Even when she heard the teacher approaching, she wasn’t thinking of retaliating or any other bad ideas.

Jin Siming pursed her lower lip, “Can you really solve this all by yourself? From the way you looked just now, it seems you can’t do anything to them.”

Yao Jin had finally regained some of her strength by now. She slowly let go of Jin Siming as she tried standing up by herself, “Are you concerned for me? Then why don’t you join me…and help me?”

Feeling Yao Jin finally let go behind her, Jin Siming didn’t feel relief. Instead, her heart sank as a strange feeling came over her, but she didn’t think much about it as she took a step forward to put some distance between herself and Yao Jin.

With a half a meter between them, she folded her arms and turned around to look down at Yao Jin, “If you can’t solve your problems, then the one who gets caught up in them will be me. In the end, won’t I still have to step up and solve it myself anyway? I guess I might as well help a noob like you along the way?”

At this moment, the last corner of the blue sky has disappeared into the darkness. The night was dark enough that she couldn’t see the expression on Yao Jin’s face clearly. She could only see that pair of beautiful eyes, still brightly shining and paired with a soft smile, as a spineless-sounding sentence was whispered into her ear, “Then I’ll have to beg classmate Jin to help a poor noob like me.”

Jin Siming was speechless. A sudden breeze blew up behind Yao Jin, one of the white sheets hanging on the clotheslines blew up. She looked around and finally realized that they were surrounded on all sides by bedsheets and blankets. Their surroundings were quiet, the sky was dark, and the sudden gusts of wind only added to the scary atmosphere.

She looked down at her watch and realized that the first evening self-study period was about half over. She immediately felt uneasy again, “Since you’ve regained your strength, let’s head back to the classroom.”

Jin Siming moved forward and then she turned back to see Yao Jin wasn’t following. She looked back in worry, saying a little anxiously as she saw how slowly Yao Jin was following behind her, “Hurry up!”

Yao Jin pouted in an aggrieved manner, “I can’t move very fast. If you’re in such a hurry, then you can go back first.”

Jin Siming gritted her teeth and took a deep breath. Finally she decided to ignore Yao Jin and left on her own.

However, she still kept an eye on Yao Jin on the way back and in the end she basically arrived at the same time as her.

The back door of the classroom was wide open, and Jin Siming stood at the door before peeking inside.

Little Princess* was sitting near the podium up front, her head buried in her work. No one was talking, and the entire classroom was quiet. The only sound that could be heard was the sound of the pages of paper flipping back and forth. It seems the Little Princess has decided to use the two consecutive self-study periods to make them do practice exams again. (*T/N: First mentioned in chapter 17, Little Princess is the nickname for their young English teacher who is small and cute like a princess)

Fortunately her seat wasn’t far from the back door. She held her breath as she tiptoed back to her seat. After sitting down, she finally let herself breathe a sigh of relief.

As soon as she sat down, Su Xiaohang pulled on her sleeve excitedly, “Ming-bao! You’re back! I thought…”

That you and Yao Jin would skip tonight’s self-study period together.

Of course she didn’t dare to say this in front of Jin Siming.

After Li Yong had returned to class, Su Xiaohang had dragged him to the side and asked him what happened. When he got to the part where Beauty Yao and Ming-bao ran away hand in hand, she was no longer worried. And now not only did she know what happened, but the whole class knew about it too.

The class’s group chat naturally exploded again, but it didn’t take long before the excitement was suppressed by the practice exam papers the Little Princess brought.

Although she is one of Jin Siming’s closest friends, she wasn’t influenced by the other party’s negative opinions of Yao Jin and wasn’t as disgusted by Yao Jin as Jin Siming was. On the contrary, she thought Yao Jin was a pretty good person. However, she could understand Jin Siming’s opinion and so she naturally also followed along with her friend most of the time.

But, ever since she started paying attention to the news in the group chat in real time, it was like a door to a whole new world opened for her. Now every time she saw the two of them together, the corners of her mouth would unconsciously twitch upwards.

Besides, she was now close to the both of them and could observe them and….ah, this damn first-person POV! Although she knows everything is fake, she can only say ‘Sorry, Ming-bao!’ These outlandish stories were really just too exciting and eye-catching! She is just an ordinary female high school student. She can’t resist the allure of appearances, and can’t help but want to join in on the fun.

However, Ming-bao, don’t worry! Even if I will join in on the fun, I will only silently do so and ensure that it stays within bounds! And I won’t go against you, my butt and I will always only lean towards your side!

After creating many vivid and detailed pictures in her mind, Su Xiaohang seemed to have come to a conclusion and made some sort of oath as she stared at Jin Siming with burning, determined eyes.

Jin Siming was frightened by her fiery stare and pulled back her sleeve as she asked, “Why are you looking at me like that? Don’t worry, I will finish the practice exam before the end of this class, and you can copy it during the next class.”

She was whispering to Su Xiaohang in a quiet voice, when suddenly the sound of a chair dragging on the floor sounded in the back row. When she looked up, she saw it was Yao Jin who had just returned to class.

Jin Siming raised an eyebrow. She thought to herself, is Yao Jin planning to stay here permanently? Or is she just planning to temporarily take refuge here in order to avoid the attention of the Little Princess?

She lowered her head and started working on the practice exam when someone knocked on her desk, and then they knocked on Yao Jin’s desk twice.

Little Princess walked towards the door in her stiletto heels, the heels making the ‘clack-clack’ sound on the tile floor: “You two, come outside with me.”
