Jin Siming felt something was wrong just looking at this woman and quickly looked away as she said with hesitation, “Sorry, I just think your….pheromones are a little unique.”

“…Ai, other people always feel troubled when it’s discovered.”

Jin Siming raised her head curiously at the faint sigh coming near her ear. The woman who was smiling brightly a second ago now had her head lowered and her face shrouded in dark shadows, painting a pretty depressed picture.

“You must’ve smelled the Omega pheromones on me, right?”

“Uh….” Jin Siming rubbed the tip of her nose in embarrassment.

“Actually, I have a bit of a gender disorder.”

Jin Siming’s mouth dropped half-open in surprise and stared dumbfoundedly at Ji Lingfei’s half-drooped beautiful eyes. She watched as the other party continued, “I’ve always wanted to become an Alpha, but as you can see, I have differentiated into an Omega instead. Such a fate is unacceptable to me.”

The other party covered her face, as if she was in pain. Jin Siming bit her lower lip, feeling very empathetic towards this woman. After all, she also couldn’t accept her reality when she first differentiated into an Alpha.

“So, out of habit, I subconsciously went into the Alphas-only bathroom. I’m really sorry for causing you any trouble, I’ll be leaving now.”

Covering her face with one hand, Ji Lingfei raised her foot to leave. She didn’t seem to notice that there was a step-down from the sink and was about to fall over the edge, so Jin Siming quickly reached forward to support her.

“Watch out!”

Jin Lingfei tilted her body to the side, and was pulled back in time by Jin Siming. Her shoulder brushed Jin Siming’s chest.

For a short moment, apart from the red wine smell, Jin Siming could also smell a trace of another scent from this person. She raised a doubtful eyebrow and before she could figure out the scent, she was pushed away with a force and then a “Pa!” the sound rang out. She was suddenly slapped in the face.

“Pervert!”

Ji Lingfei playful scolded her and with a twist of her waist, escaped her arms and left without a second glance.

?????

Jin Siming reached up to cover the red half of her face. She was a little stunned by the sudden slap and it took her a while to come back to her senses. Byt the time she walked out the bathroom, the other party had already disappeared.

The corners of Jin Siming’s mouth twitched, feeling extremely wronged.

She didn’t expect that a day would come where she would be slapped and labeled a pervert. She had clearly only extended her arms just now to help with good intentions, so she didn’t do anything wrong, right?

But, on another note, perhaps her rut really is coming soon, otherwise why would she react so wildly to the Omega pheromones just now? When that woman was pulled close to her, her pheromones did cause her heart to fluctuate a little and…when her shoulder touched her chest her heart wasn’t beating normally.

However, it seems that her abnormal heartbeat was caused by another unexplainable reason.

Jin Siming inhaled deeply and washed her hands in front of the sink. She patted her face lighty with some leftover water.

Fortunately for her, that woman didn’t really use much force. The right side of her face was only slightly redder than usual, but she had to erase any marks otherwise she wouldn’t know how to explain to her friends why she got slapped when she returned.

Ji Lingfei returned to her private room and sat down. Qin Chuxuan immediately moved away from her again when she sat down.

She sat across from her on the other side of the table. With a slight frown, she asked, “Why were you gone for so long? And why is that scent still so strong on you? Next time you’re having dinner with me you better not spray that stuff on you.”

Ji Lingfei picked up a piece of beef from the hot pot in front of her without a change in her expression: “I was going to wash it off, but guess who I met in the bathroom?”

Qin Chuxuan didn’t reply and Ji Lingfei didn’t seem to mind her silence. She raised her lips and said unhurriedly, “I bumped into Jin Siming.”

Qin Chuxuan’s originally calm and indifferent gaze lit up instantly, “Really? Did she also come to eat hot pot today?”

As she spoke, she stood up and walked out of their private room.

Seeing how anxious she was to create a “chance encounter” with Jin Siming, Ji Lingfei clicked her tongue: “Are you sure you want to meet her right now? She was slapped by me in the bathroom just now so she might not be in a good mood.”

“What?” Qin Chuxuan exclaimed, “You hit her? Why would you do that?”

Ji Lingfei picked up the beef fat that was turning white from being soaked in water for so long and placed it into her mouth, “She took advantage of me and felt me up, so of course I hit her.”

Qin Chuxuan rolled her eyes: “You are also an Alpha so how can she take advantage of you?”

“I lied to her and said that I’m an Omega. She believed me and then took advantage of me when I tripped.”

Hearing the serious tone of her words, Qin Chuxuan could only speechlessly purse her lips and sit back down at the table.

Her eyes were full of disgust as she watched Jin Lingfei rinse a piece of meat in the hot pot several times before placing it in her mouth.

If she can’t eat spicy food then why put it in the spicy half of the pot in the first place? How awfully indecisive of her.

“You must have provoked her first then? Otherwise with her meek personality, why would she take advantage of a stranger like you? And….”

Last time, when she had accidentally fallen into Jin Siming’s arms, she had pushed her away quite coldly.

But Qin Chuxuan didn’t say that part out loud.

Ji Lingfei raised an eyebrow and joked, “Oh, it seems you’re actually interested in her? You really like her, huh? Do you need help from yours truly to create a ‘chance encounter’ between you two?”

Qin Chuxuan lowered her head to pick at her food, “You don’t need to worry about it. Anyhow, we’ll be in the same class when third year rolls around.”

“And it seems that you and Yao Jin haven’t been in touch for a while now.”

Qin Chuxuan’s hand that was lifting the vegetables froze.

Because of Qin Ziqing, she and Yao Jin have known each other since childhood. In fact, she was not even that close with Qin Ziqing until she discovered her cousin was really obsessed with Yao Jin and was always circling around her. She was quite disappointed in her cousin and alienated her love-brained cousin. Meanwhile, Ji Lingfei just had to add fuel to the fire from the side.

Ji Lingfei shook her head with a helpless look: “I remember last year you were still giving gifts to each other for your birthdays. You Omegas are too hard to understand.”

Qin Chuxuan felt speechless at those words, “Come on, you’re more of an Omega than me, both physically and psychologically. It sounds really strange when you say things like that.”

Ji Lingfei propped a hand under her chin, blinking her long eyelashes, “Then does Miss Qin like Alphas like me?”

Qin Chuxuan leaned back and made a very exaggerated expression of disgust.

She lowered her head to continue her meal so she didn’t notice when Ji Lingfei quietly sighed.

Jin Siming stayed in the bathroom for a long time before she finally left.

As she approached their table, she walked in to see Yao Jin taking her truth penalty. Coincidentally, she was given the same question and there was quite a disturbance as everyone noisy clamored for the answer. Jin Siming also slowed down and pricked up her ears to listen carefully.

Yao Jin lowered her eyes, mulling over the question, before she said slowly, “My ideal type is…someone who can give me a sense of security.”

Chen Mianmian, “Whaaa, a sense of security! What do you mean by that, can you give us an example?”

The corners of Yao Jin’s mouth raised upwards, “Something like protecting me from perverts on the train.” (T/N: Fun fact, the “pervert” used here is 咸猪手 which directly translates to something like salty pig hands and is a slang to describe perverts who like to grope women in public)

Li Yong immediately raised a hand, “I can do that, I can!”

Fang Yuan quickly pressed his arm down and raised his own, “I can too!”

Gao Mei rolled her eyes, “You two aren’t that much different from the perverts.”

“…..”

Jin Siming stood behind a wooden partition in front of their table, covering her wildly beating heart: No, no, nope! Stop beating! I must be thinking too much, right?

She continued to go about in that trance-like state for the rest of the meal, when their group split up, and even until she entered the door of her house.

As soon as she entered, her brother, Jin Tong, greeted her.

“Heya, your entire body smells like hot pot. Did you go out to eat for dinner?” Jin Tong pinched his nose in an exaggerated manner.

Jin Siming weakly stepped into her slippers and walked in, “Yes….”

“Wow, that’s rare. Sis, have you finally made friends in your class?”

Jin Tong chattered endlessly behind her causing Jin Simign to glare at him with an annoyed look, “Are you so free as to ask about me?”

Jin Tong’s eyes studied her from head to toe, “Tomorrow is the weekend, so of course I’m free. I just felt that you’ve been acting a little strange recently. You didn’t ask the driver to pick you up last night, and then sent me home first. So what did you do last night?”

Jin Siming’s heart anxiously skipped a beat. She didn’t expect this brat to remember such minute details. She quickly walked towards her room and said a few perfunctory words, “Why do you care so much? Ah, this hot pot scent is way too strong, I’m going to take a shower first.”

With that, she walked quickly through the living room only to see her mother entertaining an unfamiliar guest.

When Mother Jin saw her walk in, she quickly stood up and called her over, “Ming-ming, come lere, let me introduce you to each other. This is your mother’s old friend, Auntie Qiong Ran.”

Jin Siming walked over and obediently said hello.

Qiong Ran looked her over and smiled gently, “Ming-Ming looks to be around the same age as my Jin-Jin~”

Jin Siming’s heart twitched, but after thinking about it, she brushed it off as a coincidence. These two characters are quite common and it is also common for people to have the same names. She was able to sooth her heart with such logic.

Qiong Ran continued, “Ming-Ming should be in high school now, right? Which grade are you in?”

Mother Jin answered, “Second year in high school.”

Qiong Ran: “Ah, so is our Jin-Jin. Which school does Ming-Ming go to?”

When Mother Jin told her the name of her school Qiong Ran clapped her hands, “What a coincidence, our Jin-Jin also goes there!” After speaking, she turned to face Jin Siming, “Ming-Ming, do you know a girl named Yao Jin?”

Jin Siming: “….”

Jin Siming returned in a daze to her bedroom, collapsing on her soft bed. Her brain seemed to have shut down, leaving her entire body paralyzed.

This Auntie Qiong looks quite young, at least younger than her mother. And judging from her tone, she should have a very close relationship with Yao Jin. Could she be Yao Jin’s mother?

But that shouldn’t be possible. If Yao Jin is the daughter of her mother’s friend and has been going to the same school as her, her mother should have told her about it a long time ago.

Perhaps she isn’t actually an old friend of her mom’s and her mom called her that just to be polite?

But that’s besides the point. The important part is that her mother actually knows and is friends with a relative close to Yao Jin. That means her family now has some sort of connection with Yao Jin’s family. This thought made Jin Siming feel a little strange since it made her feel as if another string has been tied between her and Yao Jin and now she has become even more involved with her.

She irritably turned in her bed, only to find that her phone, that had been tossed to the side, lit up.

She picked it up and looked at the screen. There was a notification displayed on her lock screen from the WeChat group chat they had created when they were eating hot pot and giving out red envelopes. It showed that Xu Ruzhou had pinged her, asking her to agree to a friend request.

Jin Siming bit her lip in thought and after much thinking she opened her WeChat app. She clicked on her friends list and sure enough there were several notifications reminding her to add her new friends. She clicked on them and took a quick glance at each request when she noticed that the first one was from Yao Jin.

She stared at the two words, Yao Jin. Her hands trembled and she almost dropped the phone on her face.

….Should she accept the request?
