Getting out of the translucent fluid in the game pod, Wen Zhi didn’t feel any physical discomfort but she felt a little tired.

It was the first time she had ever played a virtual reality game and it felt like she had travelled to another world and led another life. The Desolate Forest of Demons was the pioneer game to ever use a new data transfer concept to have such realistic physical gameplay. It was no wonder why so many people were eyeing the beta testing account, it looks like it won’t be difficult for the game to be a great hit.

More players meant more opportunities to make money. If she could keep levelling with Gu Xian and the others, she would be able to collect materials and hone her skills even faster. She might even become the number one merchant in the entire server just like what she did in the Heavenly Dream.

She sighed slightly as she thought of Gu Xian. She was quite conflicted about facing him as she wanted to be frank with him but at the same time, she didn’t want him to know who she was.

When he was playing the Heavenly Dream, he had treated her like a sworn brother and gone through all the thick and thin.

How could she ruin such a pure brotherhood?

However, he didn’t even know who she really was, not even her gender……

She didn’t want to have any online relationships and refused to have such things happening that why she had chosen to be a male character in the game.

The number one player in the entire server of Heavenly Dream, the lone and arrogant player who was held as a god, so many people tend to look up to him while female players dreamt of him.

It was inevitable that someone so high and mighty was so nice to ‘him’ which made her heart flutter.

However, online relationships and dating were very dangerous. Moreover, she was a male character in the game so that’s why he was so nice to her. If he knew that she was a woman, everything might change.

What if she had fallen for him and he didn’t feel the same about her, that’s going to be the worst heart-breaking outcome.

It was the fear of uncontrollable consequences that made her want to keep her distance from Gu Xian.

Yet with the current situation, if she wasn’t in the same team as him, she would definitely lose out on a lot of money-makings deal.

“Wen Zi, why are you dozing off?”

Wen Zhi was given this nickname by her friends because her name resonated with Wen Zi, which meant mosquito, and her roommates liked to call her that too.

“It was okay.”

“What a shame.” Her roommate said regretfully: “The player profile is locked to real identity so there’s no way to borrow an account to try it out. Otherwise, I’d really like to get in there and try it out myself.”

“Soon there will be open server testing, so you won’t have to wait too long.” Wen Zhi reassured her.

“Ya, I can only wait for now.” Her roommate’s line of thoughts suddenly jumped and asked: “By the way, I have to go for an interview tomorrow, are you going with me?”

“You got the interview notice so fast?” Wen Zhi quickly opened her message inbox in the communicator and checked it but there were no new messages in it.

She glanced depressingly at her roommate.

The two of them had submitted their CVs together, and the fact that her roommate had gotten an interview whereas she hadn’t meant that she didn’t stand a chance.

Although the game was played in a game pod, the communicator could transmit messages directly to the game through the transparent fluid. This means that one could contact the outside world even while playing in the game and if there was an urgent matter, they could go offline immediately.

Even if they were in the dungeon, they could still communicate with the outside world to arrange the time when they went offline so it was a very user-friendly design.

She hadn’t received any incoming calls or other messages while she was in the game for this whole week so it was very obvious that she had failed the starting round of the interview.

Seeing that Wen Zhi was slightly depressing, her roommate questioned: “You didn’t get the interview notice?”
