Chapter 20

Falling back to sleep, Wen Zhi was not awakened until the sound of chattering around her.

“Wen Zi, quick take a look at this dress, how is it?” The delicate female voice was very close to her ears.

Wen Zhi slowly inclined her sleepy eyes to look out of the window.

A light mist filled the sky and the rising sun shone brightly through the clouds.

The room was brightly lit by the rising sun and a breeze blows through the window with fresh morning fragrance that smoothed the senses.

Wen Zhi opened her communicator and checked the time. A translucent time was displayed at the top of her field of vision and there were also the room temperature, weather forecast, and simple body data.

After calculating the time, she had slept for nearly ten hours which was roughly enough for her.

She half-crawled toward the head of the bed and leaned on it gently. She lazily glanced at the person in front of her and replied breathlessly: “Chen Ling, you’re going for a job interview so it’s better to dress more plainly.”

Chen Ling stared at Wen Zhi and was mesmerized.

Wen Zhi was leaning on the bed with her loose pajamas that were slightly sliding off and half of her shoulder was exposed. Her small fair hands smoothly gathered strands of hair and hooked them behind her ear while looking at Chen Ling in a coquettish and unaware manner.

Looking at such a pretty image of beauty, Chen Ling said with fake anger: “Wake up, don’t look at me with such gazes.”

“What’s wrong with my gazes?” Wen Zhi rubbed her eyes and sit up straight while asking with an innocent look.

Chen Ling hummed lightly: “Do you know how seductive this face of yours is when paired with such an expression?” She continued: “A woman could be bent by you.”

Wen Zhi smiled: “So, are you bent yet?”

She rolled out of bed and lifted Chen Ling’s chin as she joked: “I wouldn’t dare to be your roommate again if you’re bent. Who knows if you’ll go bestial and eat me in the middle of the night?”

Looking at Wen Zhi’s excessively pretty face up close, Chen Ling blushed and smacked away her teasing hand, and commented: “Hurry up and pack up, I don’t want to be late for my interview.”

Wen Zhi stretched her back and sincerely suggested: “Although *RESET Technologies is a maverick new company without too many restrictions on its employees, it is still better to wear something formal for the interview. You might as well change out of this outfit.”

Chen Ling looked at Wen Zhi and then glanced at her tight hip dress on her body and asked: “Didn’t Chu Ning wear this to the job interview before and she still got the job?”

“How is that comparable? She applied for a bar singer whereas you applied for a company receptionist.” Wen Zhi explained as she walked toward the bathroom: “Wear whatever you want, it’s your interview anyway. Don’t blame me if you failed it.”

When Wen Zhi finished cleaning up and came out of the bathroom, Chen Ling had changed into a simple white dress.

At 9 o’clock, the two of them headed off to RESET Technologies.

Wen Zhi was actually quite curious about this company because Desolate Forest of Demons was developed by RESET Technologies and a company that could design such a frontier game was certainly unordinary.

It was a pity that reality differed from imagination as RESET Technologies was not much different from an ordinary company.

The office building was rented and was on the twelfth floor. The environment was simple and clean while the main tone was white. The furnishings were meticulous and there was absolutely no hint of the rumoured maverick look.

She accompanied Chen Ling to the lounge area to wait for her interview but the onlookers glances made her a little uncomfortable and she had to press her cap down further.

“I should have brought you a mask.” Chen Ling spoke as she saw some men who were quietly peeking in their direction.

Wen Zhi gave a low mumble in acknowledgment. It’s mostly men in the tech company, how could she have forgotten about that?!

Her looks were very flamboyant with deep features and exceptionally fair skin. Her light brown hair made others easily mistake her for a mixed-race.

The fact that she was born with too many good qualities had caused her a lot of problems since she was a child. She didn’t get the interview this time and probably like before, from looking at her CV, all others thought she was just a pretty vase.

Moreover, with her scumbag looks, it was easy to think that she was a woman with a messy private life and companies generally didn’t like to have such employees.

At the same time because of her sexy-looking face, she had a lot of bad luck with men and all good men didn’t even dare to approach her. As a result, she had never been in a serious relationship.
