The Sacred City of Ruin

3.1

The color of dawn spreads through the room as if dyed by ink.

In that coldness which would even freeze the air itself, the towns of the sacred city of Ruin were so silent as if the whole city itself was fast asleep.

In that time of dreadful silence —-

The 7th floor of the building, in one of those rooms…….

“Hey Head Manager, I have decided to form a team with Fei.”

“Oh, That is most welcome. Please aim for the complete victory over the ‘Play of Gods’.”

“Thus, I will be immediately heading off to the “Playground of Gods” right now then~”

“No can do ~”

“Why the heck!?”

The former God-girl screams at the top of her voice.

The hair as if burning brightly in red looked lovely with that well-organized cute face.

“If its me and Fei, we will win regardless you know?”

“Yes Yes~, as long as Reche-sama and Fei-kun pairs up, without a doubt you two will be the best pair in our whole branch.”

“That is why, then we will be immediately participating in the next “Play of G—”

“Nope, denied ~”

“WHY ARE YOU DENYING IT!?”

And she screams again…

While the conversation between Reche and The Head Manager goes on. The said important person, Fei, was slurping down the herbal tea served onto him, working his mouth to chew those candies and cookies as along with it.

“Fei-kun~, its alright to have your way with those sweets… but what about the left-out explanation to Reche-sama?”

“Last night I spent my whole time explaining you know~, that it is impossible if its just the two of us”

The team of Fei and Reche.

Even if they were the ace in the whole, they can’t participate in the ‘Play of Gods’ all on their own.

“Even if they won during the ‘God-Pretend’, they played with God Titan. The ‘Play of Gods’ consists of a rule that allows it to be played, that is Gods versus a number of Humans.”

“With only the two of us, it is possible that the minimum participant number required to play the ‘Play of Gods’ cannot be met. Isn’t that right, Reche?.”

“Then how many people are required?”

“— Is what Reche is trying to ask. So, the approximate number required for participating in the ‘Play of Gods’ is better known by Head Manager Miranda, or so I remember. Also, there must be some statistical data showing the information with regard to this.”

And then this morning~

Being dragged by the intense motivation of Reche, I had to drop by the office room in the morning.

“Understood, as you said, if the apostles want to find the proof, then as one of the fellow office managers, I have to show them the numbers right~.”

Beyond those thin lenses of the spectacles, a pair of eyes rested, angered, even though they appeared smiling.

“However, look at the clothes I am wearing ~, are there any thoughts you would want to say aloud?”

“It’s a Gown right.”

“~Yep, a nightwear ~.”

A deep burgundy color. Indeed, She was wearing a really beautiful gown.

Although the eyes of the person asking, had her eyes incredibly drowsy, sleepy.

“I thought I would at last go to bed after this night shift. I had the thought that in just a few moments of time, I will be at last in my bedroom.”

“Sleep deprivation is a natural enemy of the skin of all the women out there you know.”

“I… I’m sorry……”

“The subordinates who committed the same mistake in the past had the punishment granted unto them of cleaning the courtyard of the building continuously for about a month.”

“It was like, even if a leaf would have fallen onto the ground, they would have had to re-clean the whole courtyard all over again.”

“It’s way too much!?”

“Because the sin of ruining a maiden’s sleep is very heavy to pay back. Be careful next time.”

With a serious sigh, the Head Manager in her gown poured some coffee in a cup and drank it all in one go.

“Well then Reche-sama, let’s talk about our present situation at hand; We, the Mystic Court, do not yet approve of your two-person team. The reason is as pointed out by Fei-kun, but if told more so about it, then it is because of the difference in winning percentage.”

“Muuu……”

“I guess even Reche-sama does also understand us somehow. Yes, the game battles with the Gods is basically a fight testing the extent of wisdom. The best move that a human should take would be: ‘Let the numbers do the talking’.”

The challenge against God is fixed to be one at a time.

On the other hand, in the case of the human side, no matter how many participate; For a God, the more the number of people challenging, the more the game would be merry, lively and fun to play.

So, from that we recommend.

“Each team in the Mystic Court should (must) be having ‘more than 10 people in it’. From the statistics calculated from more than 30 years, the victory percentage of people less than 9 in a team is even less than 4% in total, and when it is more than 10%, it suddenly rockets up to more than 10%. For more than 20 people, it was 11%. Thus, the conclusion. The more the number of participants participating together, the more is the chance of victory.”

“…………”

“To steal the victory from a being as big as a God, It is good to use the advantage of numbers.”

Reche remained silent with her cheeks inflated, *pouting.

While stealing a glance of that cute side face, Fei was smiling softly.

…… Even if she isn’t fully satisfied, her face shows that she cannot argue that logic.

…… From assessing the personality of Reche, if she is dissatisfied, she would always say it out aloud.

If you put forth a distorted reason in front of Reche, she would without doubt use all her power to rectify that false distorted reasoning.

But that did not happen.

From the point of view of Fei too, the words of Head Manager Miranda are very convincing.

“Then, how many people should I at least have? I, Fei, and how many more?”

It seems like a habit that developed due to continuous thinking.

While wrapping her flame-like hair continuously around her index fingers, the words escaped from the lips of the girl.

“I don’t care about how many numbers I would have to put in my team. But if I have to put people who have no love for the game, then its better to just pair with Fei alone.”

“Or is that feeling also mistaken?”

“Absolutely yes”

The Head Manager softly nods her head in agreement.

“Earlier, I did mention the number of people to be at least 10 in number; But if you can get along with at least three new apostle recruits little by little in time, I will give it a go sign.”

“Till then, you have to form an alliance with the teams who are also insufficient in numbers. Right~ Fei-Kun.”

“Yes?”

Hearing his name called out all of a sudden, he blinked his eyes in astonishment.

“Is ….. something the matter… with me…?”

“I entrust you to find a good apostle for Reshe then ~.”

“Is That My Job!? Isn’t that kind of thing a job for the associa……”

“In short, even you have to look for it. The work of the association office is only recruiting the amateur apostles to groups. I don’t know any apostles other than those who give excellent and objective end reports.”

In other words, those who give a critique point of view.

It is not uncommon for commentators, analysts, and actual professional players to be very divided in their evaluation of players in professional sports.

“Even Reche-sama is actually better than any apostle recommended by the Mystic court. The humans found by Fei-kun are more reliable and trustworthy right?”

[TL note: umm, wasn’t Reche found by the Mystic court excavations? Hideous Miranda :x]

“Un”

“If you answer so readily, I feel a bit lonely out here…” “Well, if you say so.”

Just as the conversations aka negotiations were coming to an end, Head Manager Miranda makes a long yawn.

“Now then, I will be going off to sleep. All that is left is Reche-sama and Fei-kun’s teammate hunt. It would be good if you were able to find good members right~?”
