“It’s amazing… but isn’t it just a bit too much!!!”

“That” God’s back was now vibrating in reaction. Just as if it were the ripples of a big wave, Fei and his teammates standing on it started bouncing, as if on a trampoline.

“Help me, Fei-san!?”

“Pearl, hold on to those scales!”

Just to not get blown out down the surface, Fei and Pearl cling on to the scales with all they got. And while in that situation – .

“Aa……”

A member of the “Light of Flame Blossom” had his foot slipped.

-Chapter 35-

Challenging the God of Infinite.

Playground of the Gods

In the process of helping/rescuing his companions, the other one fell from the back of God in his place. As the person fell headlong into the sea of clouds, he was caught hold by a flying whale who was waiting patiently for its prey to fall in due time.

And after some few seconds later.

The apostle-caught by that sky whale was bitten to death and now turned into light, returning to the real world.

One person dropped out.

And now, only fourteen remaining members of the Flame Blossom, Fei and the other three were left.

“……………………”

The shaking eventually subsided.

All of the humans present there, including Fei and Pearl, were silently watching “that” Former Dragon God.

Half of them were watching in mere stupidity, while the other half in boiling anger.

“I-it’s not what you.”

While still trying to make her flame-colored hair flutter, Reche shook her head in denial.

“It’s not my fault, this is “Force Majeure”. It’s not my fault, this was an accident.

Don’t be fooled by this, it was all because of Ouroboros!”

“As expected, this was a man-made disaster right now.”

“It’s “that” God’s disaster!”

“Our fellow was……”

“Wha ……?”

It was Reche who raised her voice, as the people in the room stared at her.

“I’m sorry…….I’m the one at fault……”

“……Now, if it isn’t a direct apology from the Dragon God herself”

Captain Ovan made a big-big sigh.

He turned around to his men with a heavy air.

“I’m sorry for Nash who fell, but there was also an apology from Leo Reche. Remember guys, what we should be concerned about is this game’s capture.”

Captain Ovan.

It was then that Fei, not on the same team as that of the captain, raised his voice, rather than that man who was still glaring at her.

“As you can see yourself.”

“……What do you mean?”

“There was also a change in God’s atmosphere when Reche hit him full on. But there was no sign of a voice still coming out.”

“The Forbidden word” game, where one has to let “that” God say, “It hurts”.

“It would be impossible for an apostle if Reche, a former God herself, was unable to make him utter a single word, even after she hit it with full force. In other words, it can be concluded that it is not a game that would need raw physical power in order to make “that” God say “it hurts”.

“It is through and through a game of wits. What does it mean to make “The God say that it hurts”? In other words, God is telling us to use our heads.”

“Yes, you’re absolutely right, Fei!”

Brushing away those protests aside, Reche restored her triumphant-energetic look.

“I also wanted to confirm that too. I wonder if you understood my motives everyone……Well, I accidentally forgot to adjust the amount of force though.”

“And, we were on the verge of annihilation because of that though!?”

“── Pearl. Reche, here~ over here~.”

Beckoning those two people who were about to make a fuss.

Fei pointed towards the far ends of the sea of clouds in front of Pearl and Reche.

“Towards the end of the back of this big God. Doesn’t it make you wonder, what might be going on?”

“It does!”  “Are we going to walk till the edge of its back!?”

The voices of Reche and Pearl beautifully overlapped each other.

However, their reactions were polar opposite.

“Are we really going to walk till the edge of its back? S-since, the length of the path leading is enough to form a horizon. There may be more to come. ……”

“It’s ten kilometers long. If we consider that we were dropped in the middle, it’s only five kilometers walk from here to its head or tail. We can get there in an hour.”

“…… Oh. You’re right. if you think it that way, it surprisingly makes sense in a way.”

“Right?”

I started walking together with Pearl.

Well, In the end of this, we be coming back to its head, or the tail, whichever is unknown, Since we will be examining both eventually, neither actually matters anyway.

……You can go on till as long as you want. This game probably is not bound by a time system.

…… it will last-onn forever. Until our energy runs out and we surrender.

Two hundred and seventy-eight hours.

This is the amount of time that elapsed when one of the apostles surrendered after taking on the challenge by Ouroboros.

The reason why Fei remembers it, is because it was the “longest time it took for a single game” according to the records of the Mystic Court.

“Well, we’re in for a long haul, aren’t we?”

“Fei-san, look over there! The heavenly whales under Ouroboros have been following us all the time!”

Pearl pointed to the sea of clouds.

As we started moving towards the back of Ouroboros, the whales in the sky also started moving following our trajectory. Just like any carnivorous animal, eyeing their prey.

Well, since we’re the prey.

“I don’t taste good!”

Pearl, with tears rolling down her eyes, clung onto me with all her might.

She held onto Fei’s arm and just wasn’t letting it go. Well, that sort of problem didn’t matter in the first place. The problem that mattered was that: Pearl, in that very momentum, was unconsciously pressing her chests against him.

“Ah, um, Pe-Pearl ……?”

*sfx squeezing sounds

The beautifully matured pair of fruits, even though pressed quite strongly, yet felt incredibly soft even still. Feeling this incredible experience for the very first time, even the face of this inexperienced Fei involuntarily grew red hot.

“Pearl, calm down for a moment! You don’t have to be so scared about this, don’t you remember that you won’t be attacked till you are on Ouroboros’ back. The only time they will attack you is when you happen to fall.”

“But… BUT…”

She just doesn’t seem to separate herself yet.

Ah by the way, if you happen to think about Reche

She is walking right beside me… although with a really really terrifying look on her face; somehow unnoticed of the fact that Pearl was clinging forcefully onto me even this very moment.

[TL: It had been a long time since I previously uploaded chapters. I beg for forgiveness, since was riddled with exams and dissertation. The next exam is quite far ahead, so thought of uploading some chapters.

Also, I thought that I received no messages. suddenly opening today, I happen to read some. Thank you for the support. Even a single comment motivates me… though, I somehow don’t have the face to say after taking this long haul. Nevertheless, Thank you, for reading.

I will be frequent after exams and dissertation completes. Until then, please forgive me ; – ; ]
