I Have Seven Dragon Souls In a cultivation world

201 Chapter 201: A turn for the worse

Soon after travelling through the mansion, Dante entered the room to see Rebecca's and the rest of the group as well as the city Lord, all seated around the table.

Dante just nodded towards City Lord Vale and took his seat.

Seeing as everyone had arrived, the City Lord Vale cleared his throat before he soon began to speak.

"With the arrival of Lord Dante, it means that everyone has finally gathered.

For convenience of the meeting shall just give a brief rundown of the news for today.

As of today, we have managed to save a third of the surrounding of the villages."

It was good news.

Gradually a smile started appearing on Dante's face, but before he could enjoy this feeling, Lord Vale cut back in with some dark news.

"However, we have lost around sixth of the surrounding villages either to bandit raids or undead attacks.

At the rate things are moving, it will take us at least 2 more weeks before we can completely evacuate these villages and even that would only be possible if we stretch our forces to the very limit."

"The worst thing is that even if we do this, we run the risk of losing as high as half of the villages to either bandit raid  or undead attacks!"

As Dante listened, a frown had formed on his face and he quickly turned towards Rebecca.

"What about the emergency message I asked you to send out?"

Dante had noticed that things were quite obviously getting a bit out of hand. As a result of this, he had decided to send out a message requesting back up from the hidden dragon academy.

As a Dragon Son such things were well within his powers and with the way things were looking, it seemed like he would have to fight both the Corpse Master and the Bandit Leader, both of which were Martial Adept level threats.

When he had taken the mission, Dante never planned for this kind of battle. If help could be sent, then he would greatly appreciate it.

But looking at Rebbeca's grave expression, it didn't look like things were getting any good news.

"Whatever we do, it seems like the birds we send out are being intercepted. Someone or something doesn't want us to send out requests for help." said Rebecca

As Dante heard the unpleasant news, he started tapping his fingers in thought.

Suddenly, he turned towards Lennox and asked a question.

"If we can't send long distance messages to the capital, then what about to the nearby cities? How have they responded to our messages?"

As Dante asked his question, Lennox spoke up nervously.

"Umm…. Well Dante, we've heard a response from the city lords about sending soldiers.

They said due to the nature of the situation, they believe it would be best to keep their soldiers as a way to better defend the land handed to them by the king and they said..." as Lennox was speaking he couldn't help but look up at Dante nervously

"Why the pause?" Asked Dante  stoically

"Speak up."

"Gulp!"

Staring into Dante's burning eyes Lennox couldn't help hut feel nervous.  Even though he knew that all that rage wasn't directed at him, just being under Dante's gaze put a pressure on him he was struggling to take.

"They said that although they refuse to send soldiers, they would be willing to accept you and protect you if you lose the battle against your enemies."

"How dare they!" Roared Rebecca  her rage practically manifesting!

"Who do they think they are? Not only do they refuse the Dragon sons orders but they dare say that he in will lose! Isn't this a slap in the face?

"Calm down Rebecca" said Dante coldly

"It's seems like the reputation of the hero as 'Lord of the sky' precedes me.  Let it be known I'm not some hero as such they should expect no heroes mercy from me."

With a terrifying expression on his face Dante continued speaking

"Tell them I'm not instructing them as Dragon son but as Prince consort, to refuse my order is to go against the very state! So Tell them.

Tell them that if I have to go in person to collect the soldiers then I will leave with their heads!"

The group was left speechless under Dante's fearsome aura.

"Rebecca, this time you will go to the nearby cities and collect the soldiers. If you face any resistance, feel free to cut off their heads."

As Dante spoke, he handed her two tokens.

One was the typical symbol of the Dragon, son of war, but the other was a new token that he had made specifically before he left the capital.

The official token of the Prince Consort!

As Dante finished speaking, he rose from his seat preparing to leave the hall room. But before he did so, he turned back to look at Lord Vale with a piercing gaze.

"Lord Vale, it appears your other counterparts refuse to head reason. Fortunately with you, our cooperation seemed to go smoothly and seamlessly."

As Dante spoke, his eyes seemed to Pierce right through Lord Vale.

"I hope our cooperation can stay this way."

Faced with Dante's gaze, Lord Vale couldn't help but panic

'What the hell! Is he going to attack now? Or is this just a threat?'

before he even realised it, slight beads of sweat were already forming on his forehead. But before Lord Vale was forced to do anything, Dante simply turned around and headed out of the room as if nothing had happened in the first place!

Klent and the others could just look at each other awkwardly as they tried to understand Dante's swift change in attitude, but in the end, they didn't dwell on it too much. Each one of them had a multitude of tasks to attend to.

instead of trying to figure out Dante's actions, their time could be focused somewhere it would be of much more use.

without turning back to look at Lord Vale, the others quickly left as well.
