“How do you know how I feel about sleeping with you?”

To Amber’s relief, he didn’t sound particularly against Amber’s suggestion. “Of course I know. Your Excellency wouldn’t like it.”

“Madam, I…”

“I’ve said this multiple times, it’s really fine.” Amber spoke as she stared directly at Kalix’s face. There wasn’t much distance between them as Amber had pulled Kalix close to sit next to her. “Because I hate you as well, Your Excellency.”

Kalix’s eyes widened at her words.

His mouth was tightly shut as if he lost all his words as he stared at Amber’s eyes. His eyes were filled with such frightful, burning passion that Amber felt her body heat up. ‘Was it that much of a shock?’ Amber was surprised as she thought Kalix knew how she felt about him. ‘Although, it’s the first time I ever told him I didn’t like him.’

It was the truth for both this current and her previous life.

In her previous life, she had to constantly keep an eye on him and how he acted. She didn’t dare say anything about disliking him. In her current life, her emotions were so solidly set that she didn’t even think to bring the topic up.

‘So that’s what it was. He was acting strange since I didn’t tell him I hate him.’ She finally understood why her husband had been acting strangely all day long.

In any case, he was a typical Eastern man who believed it was perfectly normal for his wife to be completely obedient and servile, he likely never expected that Amber would hate him.

Because he didn’t know, he ended up having a vague attitude towards Amber.

‘Let’s make sure it’s properly knocked into his head.’ Though it was something so normal and obvious to Amber, it must have been strange for her husband.

Just as Amber privately affirmed her intent to express her feelings, Kalix spoke up with excellent timing.

“Madam, do you… hate me?”

“Yes!” Amber answered without the slightest hesitation. “I hate you, Your Excellency, so much so that I cannot even begin to put it into words.”

Thinking that it would be easier for both Amber and Kalix to properly make her feelings known, Amber spoke honestly without any hesitation.

Kalix’s reaction was not at all what she expected. It seemed like he was truly surprised and flustered at her words.

Amber was unfamiliar with his reaction. Everyone in the castle knew that the two hated each other like cats and dogs.

‘Though that was in my previous life.’ But it applied to this life of hers as well. “Therefore, please do not hesitate to hate me, Your Excellency.”

Kalix kept his mouth shut and didn’t answer her.

Amber didn’t think there was much in the way of hidden meanings behind his silence.

It was completely Kalix’s fault that Amber didn’t understand how he felt. Whenever troubled, he would keep his mouth shut in silence. It was fair that Amber wouldn’t dig much into the meaning behind his silence.

“Now then, everything is in order now, correct?”

Kalix couldn’t do anything else but nod at Amber’s question.

She stretched her arms to relieve her fatigued shoulder muscles.

“Then I will be going to be now. Too many things happened today, I’m tired.” Amber moved towards the pillows of the bed and pulled the blanket over herself after settling into a comfortable position. “I bid you good night, Your Excellency.”

It was a bed big enough to comfortably fit two people, large enough that the two could fidget and toss and turn all not long and still stay separated.

With her blanket up to her neck and at the very edge of the bed, Amber’s eyes slowly closed. After the tumultuous events of the day, she quickly and easily fell asleep.
