Everyone, including Tan Meng, thought that Yan Yi would collapse from grief. In this state, he may no longer be suitable for serving as the president, and may not even be able to take care of his own child.

But Yan Yi was far tougher than he seemed. With appropriate balance, little Lu Yan grew up safely and smoothly like the other children his age despite the bad experience left at birth.

In everyone’s eyes, Yan Yi’s level of perfection was worthy of his grade and it seemed that he did not lack anything.

In the past month, a group of glandular hunters led by the A3 Red-Tailed Hawk had gone rampant in their activities with brutal means. The alliance’s top management had held an emergency meeting on the recent Omega disappearance case, and nearly half of them believed that it was necessary to apply for armed force assistance from the PBB.

Yan Yi picked up a stack of documents on the table and leaned back in his chair to browse the list of glandular hunters. In addition to the A3 alpha, there were also sixteen main members, including the M2 Israeli Golden Scorpion, M2 North American Grey Wolf, and an M2 Whale Shark. They had been classified in the DISASTER level terrorist organization and had recently transferred into domestic borders, causing an adverse impact.

A terrorist organization with a large number of high-grade alpha members was somewhat difficult to deal with. After much consideration, Yan Yi agreed to initiate a request for help from Gu Wei.

Gu Wei’s holographic image appeared at the conference table, yawning, as he supported his cheek, his military uniform with the shoulder patch draped loosely.

Yan Yi flicked the cigarette ash in the ashtray beside him. “Send me an A3 alpha with any ability, and four M2 alphas. Call for the giant horn rhinoceros and snow leopard. For the remaining two, you can decide on  who to send. Don’t worry, I’ll take them with me and won’t affect your manpower.”

Gu Wei scanned him up and down. Yan Yi had completely changed, sitting with a posture that belonged to someone else.

Since the general president of the alliance made such a rare offer, Gu Wei had no reason to refuse and sent the list of dispatched PBB agents to Yan Yi. There was originally a Kestrel Falcon alpha among the dispatched agents, but in the process of approving the documents, Gu Wei considered a little further before replacing them with someone else.

The meeting didn’t end until two o’clock in the afternoon. After being hungry for too long, Yan Yi no longer had much of an appetite. On the way back to the lounge, he felt a bit hot, and he didn’t even have any cigarettes left in his pockets.

The bodyguard opened the door of the lounge for Yan Yi, and on the sofa sat a Merlin alpha, with a stable appearance of thirty-four to five. When he looked at Yan Yi, his eyes were deliberately disguised as frosty and intense.

As an assistant, being able to freely move around in Yan Yi’s lounge was enough proof of his unusual identity. Mu Lan stood up and put his own coat over Yan Yi, lightly saying that he had sent Lu Yan home to play in the afternoon and they could have dinner together in the evening.

Yan Yi’s face turned from dull to overcast, and he lifted his eyelids slightly. “Who asked you to send him?”

The alpha paused for a moment, and released soothing pheromones for Yan Yi. He felt that omega had just entered a period of irritability during his heat, so he picked Yan Yi up horizontally and placed him on the sofa in the lounge, gently stroking Yan Yi’s back to soothe his difficult boss.

At Yan Yi’s grade, any inhibitor with a higher concentration was useless. He had also tried the concentrated inhibitor that Dr. Zhong prepared for him separately, but the attack was too painful, often smashing things in his confused state of consciousness, and so they were eventually shelved.

As a result of this, Mu Lan stayed here.

He took out the medicine bottles from the drawer, sorted them into several types and cut them into small piles according to the doctor’s instructions. He poured a glass of water and served them together to Yan Yi.

Yan Yi swept a glance and took the medicine, warning Mu Lan not to do anything unnecessary. Mu Lan could only nod and promised to send Lu Yan home after dinner.

He was a little concerned about the president’s health. With the long term use of antidepressants, it may accumulate side effects in his body. However, the president was unexpectedly arbitrary and didn’t allow anyone to speak up on this matter.

“Do you want me to help you take care of it? “The alpha lowered his head and kissed Yan Yi’s ear, pretending not to see something hard tenting up in Yan Yi’s pants, his tone restrained and enduring silently.

Yan Yi leaned against the crook of his shoulder and stared at him with half-opened eyes.

“I’m sorry,” Mu Lan lowered his eyelids in a proper manner and quietly released soothing pheromones for Yan Yi, letting him sleep on his lap for a while.

Yan Yi slept until 4 pm, and the bodyguard said that Xiao Xia had come back from the army to see him. Yan Yi had nothing to do so he went to see him.

That little lion was a bit more stable compared to two years ago, but it still lost his temper in front of Yan Yi, pointing at Mu Lan and questioning him, ‘why would you rather be with this person than consider me at all? What am I lacking?’

Yan Yi leaned against his desk with his arms folded, raising his chin slightly to signal Mu Lan to go out first. With a faint smile, he watched as the little lion bare his fangs and showed his claws in front of him. It seemed that training had been difficult, his skin was tanned into a healthy wheat colour, his muscles and body were even more symmetrical and beautiful. Besides his romance-filled brain, nothing had changed much, everything was fine.

“I like something older than me, okay?” Yan Yi chuckled with a cigarette in his hand.

Xia Jingtian choked for a while and said, “Is that all?”

Yan Yi restrained his smile and nodded.

After that, they still had to deploy this clean-up operation. Yan Yi made an appointment with Xiao Xia to sit down and have a good conversation, and finally coaxed the little demon king away.

When he returned to the lounge to pick up his coat, Yan Yi suddenly stopped and stared at his medicine drawer for a while.

After looking around and confirming that there were no abnormalities, he opened the drawer to check the contents inside. Several medicine bottles were meticulously stacked facing their original direction, nothing unusual. Yan Yi picked up each medicine bottle and sniffed it, but they didn’t seem to be contaminated with any special odour.

Mu Lan came to lock the door and saw Yan Yi standing by the drawer in a daze. Thinking that it was because he was in a trance during his heat period, Mu Lan came to hold his shoulders gently and released soothing pheromones.

Yan Yi asked, “Did you move the drawer after I left?”

Mu Lan frowned in confusion and said tactfully, “I will notify the security department to search for suspicious individuals immediately.”

Yan Yi held the medicine bottle in his hand and remained silent for a long time.

Two days later, Yan Yi received notification that PBB agents were ready, but at the same time, he also received astonishing feedback from the alliance’s top management. Just last night in the early hours, someone sneakily attacked the temporary nest of the terrorist organization, causing the A3 Red-Tailed Hawk A3 to be severely injured and disabled. According to the injury photos provided by intelligence personnel, the other party was intentionally left alive and did not give Red-Tailed Hawk any additional fatal blows.

So when Yan Yi took people there it was just a matter of harvesting heads without much effort. The missing omega returned home, which greatly increased Yan Yi’s reputation among the omega community and occupied the news headlines for several consecutive days.

It was originally a pleasant and relaxing thing, but Yan Yi got angry at the closing meeting and severely criticized the intelligence and surveillance departments for half an hour. Even the holographic image of Gu Wei sitting at the conference table was not spared and was  called out until he disconnected. .

“Go check who the hell did it.” Yan Yi pushed the document in front of him, pressing on his piercing temple.

There were several black and white surveillance screenshots printed on the document, and a portion of a shoulder could be vaguely seen in the blurry black and white image. However, the person’s anti-detection ability was exceptional and they left no traces beyond that.

For the whole day, the president’s mood was on the verge of anger, no one dared to hit the muzzle of the gun. Even the most favoured Mu Lan could only follow him with a file and quietly release soothing pheromones to calm his boss two steps away.

That is until the driver brought over the bouncing little Lu Yan. He trotted over and hugged Yan Yi’s leg. His words were not clear yet, so he called out daddy with a baby voice and swung his little bunny ears.

Only then did Yan Yi’s furrowed eyebrows relaxed. He lifted the little bunny under his armpit and tidied up the soft bunny hair on his ears and tail. Pinching his jelly-like face and shaking it, the little bunny was as tender as butter pudding.

“Baobei, were you good today?” Yan Yi hugged him and kissed his cheek.

“Good!” Lu Yan carefully touched Yan Yi’s face and muttered, “Daddy not happy.” He pouted his rosy little mouth and kissed Yan Yi on his cheek, shyly hugging Yan Yi’s neck and giggling. His short rabbit ears were excitedly swinging back and forth.

Yan Yi hugged him and spun him around for a while with a rare smile on his face. The omega’s smile was so gentle and bright. Mu Lan fell in a daze watching him, forgetting about what was next on the itinerary for a moment.

Lu Yan felt in his pocket and took out a small flannel box. He opened it after fiddling it with his small hands for a long time. There was a ring inside. After Uncle Mu Lan sent him home yesterday, this box appeared in his small pocket. He didn’t know if it was a gift for his father.

Yan Yi was slightly stunned and looked up at the alpha standing next to him who was pretending nothing had happened.

Mu Lan gritted his teeth and took the ring from Lu Yan’s hand. Just as he was about to kneel on one knee, Yan Yi grabbed his forearm to prevent him from kneeling down.

The omega’s hands were slender and fair, but very powerful, even causing pain from his grip on the alpha.

Yan Yi lifted his gaze to ask, “You don’t have enough money to spend?”

Mu Lan had no choice but to put away the ring and said, “You are so heartless.”

A patrol of security personnel passed by in the distance, and the last one had the brim of his hat pressed very low. The collar of his uniform stood up to cover half of his face. He stopped and quietly stared at him. He tried to take a few steps, but then retreated back with restraint.

Yan Yi no longer accepted Mu Lan’s comfort and took leave to spend his heat at home. Fortunately, Lu Yan had a nanny with him, so Yan Yi had the opportunity to catch his breath.

The bedside table was scattered with various medicine bottles, and a tube of used concentrated inhibitors was casually thrown onto the carpet. Yan Yi swallowed a sleeping pill and tightly closed his eyes, forcing himself to fall asleep.

The concentrated inhibitor was too powerful. It suppressed his heat and brought unbearable pain, causing slight tremors throughout his body and confusion in the mind. He could only curl up and hide under the blanket as much as he could.

When he was half asleep and half awake, his body was suddenly pulled into a pair of arms and warmed him. A pair of big hands stroked his back anxiously as they released a large amount of soothing pheromones to ease his pain.

It was as if a pair of warm wings was protecting him, the root of the feathers softly cushioning Yan Yi’s body.

Yan Yi’s body was strangely and effectively calmed by this soothing pheromone. He held the alpha tightly, finding his lips and asking for a kiss, pressed close to his chest. Yan Yi’s body trembled violently, constantly absorbing this extremely scarce sense of security.

“It’s okay baobei, it won’t hurt anymore, it won’t hurt in a moment.” The alpha comforted quietly in a low and sad voice with a pang of heartache.

Yan Yi lowered his head and rested on his shoulder, mumbling, it hurts so much.

In return, the alpha’s kiss and touch was more gentle, almost like he wanted to knead Yan Yi into his bones and turn him into water, holding him in his palm to soothe.

In Yan Yi’s dream, he listened to the alpha’s endless talking for a long time that kept telling him, ‘Baobei, don’t eat those medicine anymore.’
