Leaving the house, they head towards the location Jennifer recorded from the Second-Level Undead's thoughts.

They jumped and dashed through the roofs of the residential housings.

"Here was where they fought." (Jen)

The location was just three minutes away from their departure point.

Looking at his iPhone, Zack estimated that it was roughly three kilometers away from where they found the abnormal horde and the zombie-commander.

Jennifer pointed out the exact scenery that she saw. She described to Chai and Zack the buildings and landscape details.

They were currently standing nearby a building.

The 'battleground' was littered with bullet shells and dead bodies.

'BANGUNAN UTAMA TENTERA UDARA DIRAJA MALAYSIA CAWANGAN PINGGIRAN'.

The metallic signboard reads 'Royal Malaysian Air Force Main Building, Suburb Branch'.

"Daaamn somebody must've collected tons of points here brah." (Chai)

The building's fortified defenses were breached open.

{Come in, Team Venus.} (Zack)

"…"

He tried to establish a connection with them via radio.

{Clark here, Te-} *zzz bzt!*

"Finally yours too, eh bro? Da*n it, we should've brought a powerbank next time." (Chai)

Chai's radio earbud ran out of battery a few hours before.

With no available chargers, all they could hope was that they had enough battery right.

The trio did not sense any zombie activities in a 300-meters radius.

Because all of them were lying down on the ground, frozen and dead.

'Bullet holes in most of the zombies' heads. Must've been Mel.' (Zack)

He quickly analyzed the aftermath of the battle.

"Guys, search out for any weapons that you can find. Let's meet back here in fifteen minutes." (Zack)

While Chai and Jen searched around the perimeter, Zack investigated further.

'The zombie wave came from two directions. Left and right.'

'Let's see…these arrows…yes, they're ours!'

Zack dislodged a black crossbow bolt from a dead zombie's head.

He tried sniffing for Melissa's scent but only putrid blood and smoke were lingering on it.

'Let's see if I can find her sniping point.'

Observing the location of dead bodies which had crossbow bolts stuck in its head, the degree of the arrows on the ground and where the tail of the arrows were pointing, he quickly deduced her location.

After just five minutes, Jen and Chai came back with all sorts of weapons.

"You sure you could sniff them out, bro?" (Chai)

"Yeap. I'm lovin' the bonuses I get from [Kryptonian Physique] and [Super Senses]." (Zack)

With an enhanced Kryptonian brain, his memory and analytical skills rose exponentially.

Comparing to a bloodhound which excels in tracking, he is far superior than it in isolating the scent and finding the trails.

After sniffing out an approximately sixty-seven number of weapons, none of them has Melissa's, Annie's or Joy's smell!

'The crossbow that the 'Second-Level' acquired still had my smell. But why aren't the other zombie slaves carrying any of our team's weapons?' (Zack)

It could only point to one thing: they escaped with their weapons.

"Let's check out the building. Mel was shooting these arrows from up there." (Zack)

He pointed towards the First building's Third Floor.

Being physically stronger than before, jumping to a Third Floor's height was a very achievable feat for them.

"W-What.." (Jen)

She gasped by the sight of corpses piled up all over the place.

Dark bullet holes and charred debris indicated that the zombies swarmed this floor, and the people here used rounds upon rounds of ammunition to defend themselves.

The Third Floor of the First Building did not have many windows.

Each office on the Third Floor were separated by brick walls and labeled according to their own respective departments.

The corner-most office, which Zack pinpointed Melissa's sniping point overlooking the battleground, was particularly filled with heaps of bodies.

'The Second-Level must've detected her hiding place and attacked.' (Zack)

The window that was half-opened in the office had bullet shells on the floor.

On the adjacent wall of the office, the windows were broken.

'They escaped through here.'

Looking down through the broken window, he saw ropes on the Ground Floor.

"Chai, Jen, we're almost there. They left something right on the bottom." (Zack)

Pointing down to the ground, Chai and Jennifer stretched their heads out the window.

"I don't see nothin'." (Chai)

Chai saw nothing but dead bodies who's had their heads splattered and limbs broken.

"The ropes, right? Great, now we can track them!" (Jen)

Zack nodded.

"Hey! How did you know?" (Chai)

With a grin, Jennifer said: "Chai, you do know that my [Telepathy] is Level Two, right?"

Chai gulped for a second.

The three of them jumped down to the ground below.

Zack picked up the rope and start tracking Melissa's, Annie's and Joy's whereabouts.

***

"They're back!"

Two silhouettes were seen from her binoculars.

They were fast approaching an aluminum-framed door with black tint on its glass middle.

Pulling the cold, silver door handle, the sight of a gorgeous-looking blonde woman greeted them.

"Did it work?" (Annie)

"These are all that we could get."

A middle-height, fit man wearing a white and blue camo print combat uniform handed her a black military rucksack.

Annie the man had fewer firearms and equipment than he originally had.

"Thank you, Captain Nassah." (Annie)

She sincerely thanks the tanned-skin, oval-shaped face man.

"They drove a hard bargain. If only we had more items to trade!!" (Captain Nassah)

His eye-bagged, tired eyes quivered. He wrinkled his water-guava shaped nose in frustration.

"Sir, time is of the essence. If we scourged for more items to trade or waste time to negotiate with those blood-sucking hoodlums, Young Miss' condition would worsen."

A man in his late 20s, his full lips uttered words of console and reason.

"I'll bring these to Mom!" (Annie)

She locked the door and covered back the blinders and curtains on the windows.

Hurriedly entering a porcelain-colored room, she saw a similar-looking Australian woman who resembled her, albeit a little more matured.

Joy who was tending to a sleeping Melissa got up from her chair.

Opening up the military rucksack, she took out everything inside.

Antibiotics, antiseptics, syringes, IV tubes, saline bags, and more medical items were taken out and spread out on a glass table.

"Thank Captain Nassah and Lieutenant Johan for me. I'll need to re-dress her wounds." (Joy)

With a smile full of gratitude on her weary face, she hurriedly starts re-treating Melissa.

"Does Ms.Joy need anything else? We'll do our best to retrieve more of them!" (Captain Nassah)

"Mom didn't tell me anything except thank you, guys. Ah, are you guys hungry? I'll bring out something to eat!" (Annie)

"Please, Ms.Annie. It's our utmost priority to protect Young Miss Melissa. She did save our lives, after all." (Lieutenant Johan)

On top of her status as a General's daughter, her amazing marksmanship led to these two men's appreciation.

During the zombie siege, Melissa displayed incredible sniping skills and the battle's favor was tilting towards the Air Force Main Building Shelter's.

'But who knew that something capable of controlling zombies appeared.' (Annie)

Reliving the horrendous and critical scenes when the horde specifically raided the building, heading towards their exact location.

As the most powerful [ENHANCED] in the whole base, she made sure that many of the Airmen and other civilians escaped.

'If-if only I didn't panic and-!'

Hot tears came down dripping her bluish-iridescent eyes.

KLACK-KLANGG!

A make-shift sentry alarm that they've installed around the perimeter ranged!

"Something's coming!" (Lieutenant Johan)

The fair-skinned man with a 5'o clock shadow-beard quickly alarmed everyone in the brightly-lit room.

Following the scents of their three teammates, they sped up towards the northwest direction.

"Jen, anything around us? There's nothing on my side." (Zack)

"Clear so far." (Jen)

There were no signs of people or undead around them, except the tweeting of birds and chirps of crickets, they continued ahead.

"Bro, you think they'd know that it's us?" (Chai)

<< They'll-know.>> (Jen)

Chai stared at Jennifer's smiling face. His face was full of amazement.

With the advancement of her [Telepathy], she can project simple thoughts, or words, in a distance of 100-meters.

They passed through another thick forest and the scent led them to a lush, perfectly leveled green field.

Coming out of the woods, the vast golf course painted a very picturesque scenery.

'The scent of Melissa's blood stopped about half a kilometer ago.' (Zack)

The crushed leaves and broken branches along the way indicated that they were pursued by a large number of zombies, until 200, 300-meters ago.

'It's faint. Very very faint, but I can still feel the traces linger.' (Zack)

"We're not that far! Less than a kilometer away!" (Zack)

Sprinting like the wind, they seemed like a blur at the speed they were running.

"Building ahead!" (Zack)

A two-decades-old complex, it had a design which exudes a timeless elegance.

A wooden signboard showing 'KELAB REKREASI TENTERA UDARA' was majestically displayed on the entrance.

'Air Force Recreational Club. Must be awesome having your own private club to hang out when you're not on air.' (Zack)

The three of them finally saw the compounds of the Country Club.

"We're close, their scents are getting stronger! They should be inside that place!" (Zack)

Excitement and anxiety raised their level of adrenaline.

Running up the gray-colored stairs leading to the lobby led by Zack, an unexpected surprised happened.

"Wh-what IS THIS?!" (Chai)

"It's too BRIGHTTT!" (Jen)

As the dimly-lit Main Lobby, almost devoid of light, had blinding light shone on their eyes from various directions!

As the person with the highest sensitivity, the Spotlights literally made Zack dashed several steps back.

"UGH! MEL! ANNIE! IT'S US!! JOYYYYY!!" (Zack)

They then heard some threatening howls and dominating questions.

"WHAT DO YOU WANT?!"

"DID RAZZ SENT YOU?!"

The temporary blindness and high-pitched roar sent the three into confusion.

However, the situation only lasted a few seconds.

Swack!

"OUCH!!"

"ARGH!"

The assailants were surprised.

A boring, normal-looking stick knocked off the handguns off from their hands.

"Hmph, you think that if I can't see, I can't fight? Try me, b*tch!" (Chai)

His [Kame School Martial Arts] naturally incorporated techniques and senses how to fight without one or more senses.

The few minute seconds that the attackers were screaming questions to them gave him time to recover a bit.

With amazing precision and coordination, he wielded [Nyoi-Bo] skillfully, trying take them down.

"Hey not bad, you guys are quite strong." (Chai)

Enjoying every second, he defended against strikes from two combat-seasoned figures.

Without them realizing it, Chai has gotten to their backs purposefully and smashed the Spotlights that were blinding them!

SMASHH!

'Kh! How could a civilian outperform us military personnel?'

'Is this guy an [ENHANCED] too? His martial arts is too good! Almost at a Grandmaster-Level!'

Right in the middle of the battle, Chai surprised them by saying one thing.

"Too bad you didn't welcome us nicely. JEN!" (Chai)

Following his voice, Jennifer extended her psychic senses and lifted the two of the attackers into the air.

"Sirs, please calm down! We mean no harm!" (Jen)

The whole incident took quite long to describe but it actually happened in a flash.

When they were about to recover their sights, the two men threw smoke bombs!

Unfortunately, their plan failed.

Before the bombs hit the ground, Zack casually caught it and extinguish the flame on its wicks.

Suspended on air, they struggled against Jen's control.

"PLEASE CALM DOWN! We're not here to fight you!" (Zack)

The three of them looked at the two men wearing a white and blue camo print combat suits.

"Explain yourselves, youngsters! And put us down immediately!" (Captain Nassah)

The tanned-man who roars a dominating order identified himself as a leader.

'The red-haired woman must be telekinetic. Her brows and eyes twitched more than a normal amount. Let's see if they can handle this!' (Lieutenant Johan)

Profiecient in battle tactics, he managed to stay calm and assess the situation.

Lieutenant Johan reached his right breast pocket with haste and forcefully tapped on it.

NGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

"Aaaaaargh!"

The three youths kneeled down under the high-frequency ringing of the P.A system speakers around them.

It was as if a megaphone was ringing right beside your ears, feeling as if your brain was scratched internally.

Lieutenant Johan and Captain Nassah dropped down to the ground abruptly.

While Jennifer and Zack tried to suppress the chaotic noise by closing their ears, Chai dashed in front of them with a pained expression.

He opened a stance and pointed [Nyoi-Bo] to the two unknown men who were just finished putting on ear plugs.

Having just recovered his sight and now his hearing messed up, he needs time to adjust to the surroundings.

Lieutenant Johan then threw several clear bottles to him.

Chai couldn't evade, as Jennifer and Zack were behind him. He kicked the majority of them but he struck one bottle with his staff.

'F*UAAAAAARK! WHAT THE HELL IS THIS SMMMMMMMELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!' (Chai)

Now with a feces-like odor permeating from the tip of [Nyoi-Bo], he unconsciously extended it as far as he could.

It broke through a brown wall at the end of the lobby!

'HUH?! The stick can grow long?! They must be the gangs!'

Lieutenant Johan and Captain Nassah subconsciously turned their heads out of amazement by the staff's ability.

Chai dashed mightily when the two men were momentarily distracted.

DUSH! PAAAK!

Both of them got kicked by Chai!

"You sneaky little bast-"

The two of them landed on opposite sides of the Lobby's wall.

To prevent anymore dirty tricks being played, he rushed towards the Lieutenant first.

"CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAI!"

Just as he was about to 'Karate Chop' his neck, he was tackled by another person.

With his ears still ringing and his nose intoxicated by the stink bomb, he struggled to identify the newest assailant with a dim atmosphere.

He was about to strike this person's liver when he felt…a familiar firmness.

'Wait a minute.' (Chai)

More than a tackle, it was more like a…hug. A tight, longing hug of lovers who haven't seen each other for a few months.

The new assailant started making weird sounds.

'What the heck, is he crying? What the f*ck bro?' (Chai)

"CHAAAAAAAAAIII!"

Golden strawberry eyebrows, pale lashes.

Her red-pink rosy complexion was flushed from crying.

"Annie!Oh my god!" (Chai)

"I'VE WAITED FOR YOU FOR SO LONG!! YOU'RE SUCH A JERK! AN A**HOLE! A PIG-HEADED BATTLE PSYCHOPATH! I-I…WOOOOWOOOOO~"

Her warm tears made Chai's collarbone dripping wet.

Exhaling a breath of relief, he patted her back to console her pent-up feelings.

The ringing stopped a few moments ago.

"Oh my goodness, ZACKK!"

Another female voice rang throughout the Lobby.

It was Joy.

She came running towards a curled up man.

She helped Zack to sit-up straight whilst he recover from the sensory overload.

"Captain, Lieutenant, these two young men are our friend that we were waiting for." (Joy)

Wiping away little tears, Joy tried to put on a brave face.

A little part of her heart had even given up on expecting them to return.

'These crazy boys. Just to save a stranger…' (Joy)

She looked at figure draped in a dirtied, yellow colored Firemen jacket lying down on the ground.

Groaning in pain, Captain Nassah got back up on his feet.

'This young chap's power is unbelievable. If I didn't wear a combat suit and added the 'Vitality' stat, I might have not survived.' (Captain Nassah)

[Vitality: This stat affects the endurance, HP, and restorative power of the character, allowing it to last longer against monsters and to regain more life with healing items. Increases Max HP, Healing Items effectiveness, Resistance against Status Effects: Stun, Poison, Deadly Poison, Burning, Freezing. Overall Defense increases.]

He tended to his equally shocked subordinate.

*sob* *hic*

"Annie, I'm sorry I just left without saying a word. I'll give you a special pass, you can hug and cry on me all you want. I owe you some apology." (Chai)

*sniff* "Okay." (Annie)

Burying her face in the handsome idol-looking man's body, she quickly mellowed out.

Pinch.

"Ow, HEY! What happened to that special pass?!" (Annie)

Rubbing her pear-shaped buttocks, she pouted with a scowl on her youthful face.

"Little girl, what made you think you could headbutt me out of the sudden and get away with it? Pass revoked!" (Chai)

As Zack started regaining his stability, he was looking around to make sure Chai and Jennifer were alright.

Joy removed Jennifer's helmet and heavy clothing, allowing her to breathe better.

Zack walked over to them, and Joy ensured him that Jennifer's vitals were unharmed.

Then, he asked the most heart-wrenching question Joy's ever heard:

"Where's Mel?"

***

After all the commotion, they proceeded to the second floor of the Air Force Recreational Club building.

Jennifer was carried by Zack and was resting on big brown sofa.

"She's in here." (Joy)

Chai and Zack took almost two days to reach back to them.

The two boys jumped out of an impulse to save another human life.

Along the way, they eradicated hundreds of zombies.

They even eliminated a Second-Level Undead.

"Hey Mel, we're bac-" (Chai)

Pushing open the door nonchalantly, the first sight of her got them speechless.

Multiple stitches.

Bruises as if she got hit by a truck.

Bloodied bandages in most of her limbs.

"W-What happened to her…" (Zack)

Trembling in sadness, traces of fury and anger rose on their face.
