The Strongest Sect of All Times

Chapter 33: lu qianqians background

Li Qingyang descended the mountain that very day, arriving int the town to look for a good tailor shop. After finding one, he made the payment; about 200 sets of uniforms arrived a few days later.

It was just that easy to do things when you had the money.

Jun Changxiao ordered the disciples to change into their brand-new clothing, then had them gather in the field.

After some time, the male disciples, led by Li Qingyang, arrived first. They each wore long purple robes, a shirt on the inside, waist-banded trousers, and leather boots — they were decked head to toe in purple.

“Second Senior Brother, aren’t these clothes too eye-catching?”

“The collar of this shirt opens so wide, basically revealing the entire chest. If we go out like this, we’ll definitely be laughed at!”

The disciples complained unceasingly.

The mainstream style of clothing of Falling Star Continent was similar to the ancient dynasties of Earth. The clothing that Jun Changxiao had designed were bright and simple; alternatively, they were quite unbearable for the eyes.

“Ah.”

Li Qingyang sighed.

He had already seen the illustrations the sect head made. They had seemed alright on paper, but he felt truly dumb wearing them on the body.

Before long, the female disciples entered the inner courtyard.

They wore red short-sleeved robes, with sheer fabric running down to their wrists. Their waists were accentuated by a belt, perfectly outlining their slender figures. The skirts hit just around the knee — not too short. A pair of fiery-red knee-high boots then accentuated their slender legs.

This clothing had completely abandoned the mainstream women’s clothing design — instead of making the clothing flowy and dainty, it made them look ornate and valiant.

The female disciples that Jun Changxiao had enrolled were all good looking. When the wore the uniform, their figures were highlighted — perfectly illustrating the word ‘beauty’.

“Wah!”

“Apprentice sisters look so pretty!”

The male disciples gathered in a group, silly smiles on their faces, perfectly taking the pig-headed older brother’s stance.

“Senior Sister, they’re staring at us!”

“Wearing such clothes, I feel so embarrassed!”

The fashion sense of Falling Star Continent was quite traditional. For women, the clothing would cover most of the body. This style of clothing, which seemed to bring about masculine vigor, was definitely hard to accept.

A deep-rooted sense of tradition kept most of the male and female disciples from being able to adapt to Jun Changxiao’s sense of fashion.

But it didn’t matter if they couldn’t adapt to it.

Because this was the command of the sect head; they had to listen.

“Senior Sister is out!”

It was unknown who shouted, but everyone turned to the entrance. Like a fine jade flower, Lu Qianqian appeared wearing the red robes and red boots, her eyebrows wrinkled.

This young woman often wore fine white robes, looking like an immortal celestial goddess. Changed into bright red robes, she blossomed like an enchanting rose.

However… it would be a rose with thorns, because her face seemed to be covered in frost. Her eyes burned with anger, as if fueled by the flames of fury — truly a different character and style.

The disciples quickly looked away, secretly muttering, “Who made our senior sister so annoyed?”

Ta!

Lu Qianqian stopped right before the field. Because she was stepping with such excessive force, the ground seemed to tremble.

All of the disciples retreated several steps in fear, maintaining a certain distance away from the senior apprentice.

Li Qingyang shook his head. He knew that the senior sister’s poor mood definitely had something to do with the sect uniform.

“Cough, cough.”

At this time, Jun Changxiao, wearing a long white robe, swaggered out of the main hall. Around his waist was a gray belt, but his boots were white.

This sect head’s look of entirely white was pretty good — he had an elegant and noble disposition with it on.

“Not bad, not bad.”

Jun Changxiao walked over, seeming to be praising his own talents. “Finally a bit more like a sect head.”

Suddenly, he discovered that Lu Qianqian had changed into the sect uniform. He held his chin, commenting, “An attractive woman looks attractive no matter what clothes she wears.”

But when his eyes and Lu Qianqian’s met, he realized that hers burned with fury and could not help but shut his mouth.

“Sect Head,” seethed Lu Qianqian. “I hate red.”

Jun Changxiao smiled. “Red represents jubilation and life, isn’t it a color that girls usually like?”

“Hate, I hate it,” Lu Qianqian said.

Jun Changxiao grimaced. All the disciples are present, she should give this lord a little face!

Lu Qianqian also realized she had lost her temper and took a deep breath. Her elegant expression with filled with pain and struggle as she said, “If Sect Head wants me to wear it, Disciple can only comply.”

Although she often attacked Jun Changxiao, she was still a disciple. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have forced herself to even wear this set of clothing.

Seeing the struggle on her face, Jun Changxiao thought, This is not just a shallow hatred of red. There seems to be a story behind this, memories that are painful for her which she is unwilling to remember.

“I understand.” He turned and said, “Qingyang, according to the same design, get your senior sister a set in white.”

“Yes.”

Li Qingyang turned around to leave, but thought, Senior Sister, what is her background?

Through the past few days, although Lu Qianqian was quiet, it could be seen that she had impeccable manners and was definitely of an uncommon background. But what was her hidden status?

“Since you have all changed into the uniforms, your life in the sect will formally start tomorrow. Beginning then, your second senior brother will be responsible for your daily training,” Jun Changxiao announced.

Li Qingyang, who had not walked very far, tripped over his own feet.

Every since I came to the sect, I have been responsible for repairing the outer court, revising the sect rules, descending the mountain to make the uniforms. Now, I have to teach cultivation?

Am I a disciple or a manager?

Ah.

Li Qingyang sighed, then darkly muttered to himself, “I seem to have fallen into a ditch.”

“That’s all,” Jun Changxiao waved them off. “Dismissed.”

“Yes!”

The disciples headed the command and dispersed.

“Qianqian,” Jun Changxiao called. “Come to the main hall, this lord has some words to say.”

Lu Qianqian entered the main hall with him. Just as she walked into the hall, she said, “Disciple offended Sect Head a moment ago and is willing to receive punishment.”

Jun Changxiao sat down in the sect head’s seat, leaning on the armrest, head resting on his palm. “If this lord wanted to punish you, he would have done so outside.”

Lu Qianqian was silent.

Jun Changxiao leaned his other arm on the armrest, locking his hands together. Resting his chin on his hands, he said, “You have joined the Ironbone Unyielding Sect for some time, but this lord knows nothing of the background of his senior disciple.”

In the end, he had still taken this step.

There was no hidden meaning, just that as a sect head, shouldn’t he understand his disciples?

Lu Qianqian said, “My name is Lu Qianqian, that is my identity.”

Jun Changxiao was speechless. “This lord means where you come from, your family background. How many people were in your family, how many acres did you own?”

Lu Qianqian said, “I come from an outside area, both of my parents have already passed, I have no land to my name either.”

This was a very perfunctory response, but Jun Changxiao was not satisfied.

“Sect Head.”

Lu Qianqian looked at him, her cold face wavering into another expression — pain. In a profound tone, she said, “Knowledge of certain things may not be good, but may bring about disaster.”

“Disaster?” Jun Changxiao touched his nose, “Sounds scary.”

“Nevermind, nevermind,” he waved. “Since you do not wish to say, this lord will not force you. Speaking of proper business, the daily cultivation of the female disciples will be handled by you.”

“Second Junior Brother teaches the male disciples, I teach the female disciples; what will Sect Head be doing?” Lu Qianqian asked.

“Ahem, ahem.” Jun Changxiao said, “I will obviously be responsible for supervising, occasionally directing disciples in times of confusion.”

Lu Qianqian doubtfully responded, “To me, Sect Head wants to loaf about, being an arm-flinging storekeeper?” [1]

“How could that be possible?” Jun Changxiao was intentionally serious as he said, “This lord has to vigorously develop the sect, which will depend on you disciples. With the goal of dominating the continent, how can I be loaf about?”

“Dominante the continent?” Lu Qianqian’s lips curled up slightly and she huffed, “Keep dreaming.”

[1] an arm-flinging storekeeper is someone who is useless, or someone who makes other work while doing nothing themselves
