The Strongest Sect of All Times

Chapter 37: are you interested

Returning to the sect head’s court, Jun Changxiao danced with joy. “So many disciples were successful, the Ironbone Unyielding Sect’s bright future is just around the corner!”

He told Li Qingyang to get used to it, but here he was dancing around like a lunatic — what a hypocrite.

Speaking of which…

Why was he so excited?

Wasn’t it because if the disciples were powerful, the sect would be powerful. If the sect was powerful, they could dominate the continent and complete the system mission, getting rid of the soul-brick bomb?

If there wasn’t that damned main mission and bomb, Jun Changxiao wouldn’t be here developing the Ironbone Unyielding Sect; no, he would probably be a rogue cultivator free of all worries.

“I will cultivate the whole night again, condensing enough energy to attempt a breakthrough to Meridian Opening Stage Eleven.”

He sat down cross-legged and began to cultivate.

50 contribution points, Jun Changxiao had not yet spent them. First, he had nothing he needed. Second, he really wanted to open a meridian with his own power.

The most important point was that his intuition told him that if he opened a meridian with his own strength, he could complete a hidden mission and gain contribution points.

A night of cultivation passed.

Jun Changxiao condensed enough energy to attempt a breakthrough!

The next morning, he dejectedly walked out of his room. He huffed to himself, “I failed even with such high chances of success… It can’t be that I’ve lost Heaven’s favor?”

“Whatever. My comprehension of the Tendon Altering Sutra is pretty good. I will just condense energy for another 2 or 3 days of time; the next attempt will definitely succeed!”

Jun Changxiao comforted himself, entering the main hall.

Soon, Li Qingyang walked in excitedly. “Sect Head, Disciple broke through to Meridian Opening Stage Eleven!”

“Is that so?” Jun Changxiao said, “Not bad.”

In his heart though, he was howling, I’m so jealous of those with good spirit roots!

Li Qingyang then reported the new statistics. Altogether, 20 people had attempted, with 12 successes and 8 failures.

Perhaps the sect head’s words yesterday had worked, since he really was much calmer today.

Jun Changxiao said, “Tell the disciples who failed that it is but a temporary failure, not a forever defeat. As long as they work hard, they will definitely succeed.”

How come these words sounded like self-consolation…?

A few days later.

The disciples who cultivated the Tendon Altering Sutra were all able to break through one level.

“How refreshing!”

“I wouldn’t even dream that opening a meridian was so easy!”

“For the sect head to create such a technique, he must be a deity!”

The successful disciples were all excited, worshipping Jun Changxiao and filled with admiration.

However, Sect Head Jun was very depressed, because he had already failed twice.

He dejectedly sat on his bed, bitterly saying, “a 50% chance, but I have already failed twice. It seems like coming upon the divine-grade Tendon Altering Sutra used up a lifetime of luck.”

Although he had continuously failed, there was a hidden benefit.

Jun Changxiao’s meridians, muscles, and five main organs had all been tempered, becoming much stronger and healthier than before.

The male disciples were also like so.

As for the female disciples, their physiques were not much more graceful and they held an ethereal air.

This was the refinement of the Tendon Altering Sutra; men would seem to gain muscle mass but retain an elegant physique, while women would gain lithe and graceful figures.

“Sect Head.”

Li Qingyang walked in. “The workers have arrived, when should repairs of the inner court begin?”

“Today then.”

“Alright.”

Since the inner court was being renovated, Jun Changxiao temporarily resided in the main hall.

Thump, thump.

Lu Qianqian walked over, white boots thudding against the floor. Since she cultivated the Tendon Altering Sutra, both legs were perfectly slender.

This woman was truly beautiful to the pinnacle, perfect like a carving of soft jade.

If this was Jun Changxiao’s original world, she would make an instant kill amongst the supermodels, an instant hit amongst superstars.

Jun Changxiao tapped his chin in appreciation and could not help but say, “A beautiful woman puts even the moon and flowers to shame.”

Lu Qianqian stopped and discovered that he was looking at her, wrinkling her eyebrows. “Do all you mean care so much about a woman’s looks?”

“Yes,” Jun Changxiao truthfully replied.

As a heterosexual male, he could not lie and say he did not care.

“…”

Lu Qianqian was silent.

She didn’t expect that he wouldn’t even try to lie.

“Qianqian.”

Jun Changxiao said, “Our ages are about the same, are you interested?”

Such an attractive woman was definitely a good option. Sect Head Jun also wanted to say goodbye to the title of ‘single dog’, backhandedly forcing the readers to eat dog food. [1]

“What do you mean?”

“It means to date— Wait, no, according to Falling Star Continent, it means to take our relationship a step further.”

“You mean to be in a romantic relationship?”

“Right, right, to be in a romantic relationship, to talk about…”

Before he could say the word ‘love’, Lu Qianqian’s eyes had filled with murderous intent.

Jun Changxiao shivered and forcefully swallowed his words. He changed the topic, “Speak, what did you come to this lord for?”

Lu Qianqian also restrained her killing intent and indifferently said, “Sect Head still hasn’t broken through?”

She really loved to hit where it hurt most!

Jun Changxiao put a hand on his chest, pretending to be in pain. “Qianqian, did you come to attack this lord?”

Lu Qianqian responded, “You are the sect head, the Inronbone Unyielding Sect’s leader. If your cultivation cannot increase, how are you supposed to lead disciples stronger than you?”

“Relax,” Jun Changxiao said. “To this lord, cultivation breakthrough is a simple matter.”

This was not boasting. If he wanted, he could exchange points for cultivation. Perhaps he could not become a Martial Apprentice, but he could definitely easily reach Meridian Opening Stage Twelve.

Lu Qianqian was used to his way of speaking and said, “If you cannot, you can consider stepping down. I will lead the Ironbone Unyielding Sect to dominate Qingyang Commandery.”

Knowing her, she just wanted to become the sect head.

Jun Changxiao stepped forward and stopped a meter away. Looking at her, he said with a smile, “Dominate Qingyang Commander? This goal is too small; this lord is thinking of dominating the entire Falling Star Continent.”

Due to their proximity, there seemed to be some fragrance in the air, causing her heart to flutter.

“Tsk.”

Lu Qianqian snorted.

But she turned her head, looking away from him. “Do you think that all you need to develop a sect is a divine-grade technique?”

“Otherwise?”

“A powerful sect must have a good cultivation system, some outstanding elders as teachers, various martial way resources like skills and medicines, and even more. Does the sect head have all this?”

“No.”

Jun Changxiao seriously said, “But they will be here in the future.”

“I hope so.” Lu Qianqian said, “I’ll be bringing the disciples to cultivate first then.”

Hu!

After walking out the main hall, she breathed out lightly. Her mind gradually calmed. Sect Head’s realm isn’t higher than mine, but why is his presence greater? It seems like my comprehension of the Grand Mysterious Ice Heart Art is insufficient, I am unable to truly achieve the stage of calm like deep water.
