The Strongest Sect of All Times

Chapter 38: some people cause trouble

In the main hall.

Jun Changxiao sat on his millennium old cedar char and did not speak for a long time.

Lu Qianqian’s words from a moment ago made him realize that his own cultivation was subpar and the sect only had the Tendon Altering Sutra — what else was he missing? How should he make the Ironbone Unyielding Sect stronger, how should he go about trying to dominate the continent?

“Ah.”

Jun Changxiao heaved a great sigh, then opened the system store.

He first saw something called the Qi Gathering Pill, naturally clicking on it for a better description.

[Item: Qi Gathering Pill

Effect: Once eaten, a martial artist can gather spiritual energy 5x faster. Please note that only the sect head can use this.

Duration: 24 hours

Price: 10 contribution points]

Jun Changxiao commented, “Qi gathering is sped up 5x, this is a great thing!”

With his ordinary aptitude, even with the divine technique, he still needed two days to absorb enough energy to challenge one vein. If the process was sped up 5x, he could save a lot of time.

“Buy!”

Jun Changxiao purchased the pill without hesitation.

[Ding! The host has spent 10 contribution points, obtaining Qi Gathering Pill x1. The item has been transported to the storage ring.]

[Ding! Sect Contribution: 40/100]

The notifications had not yet ended when Jun Changxiao grabbed the bottle of Qi Gathering Pills, pouring out a single pill the size of a red date.

He opened his mouth and swallowed it. Immediately, the medicine integrated into his body, making it feel like his pores were suddenly wider.

Jun Changxiao sat cross-legged on his chair and began to cultivate with the Tendon Altering Sutra. However, he had barely finished a minor revolution when the spirit power in the main hall swarmed over, as if rushing to be absorbed first.

Yesterday, you were so cold and indifferent to me. Today, you are rushing to offer your hand in friendship.

He felt proud, but the great Sect Head Jun started to absorb the spirit power like crazy. After merely 2 hours, he had condensed enough energy to attempt a breakthrough.

He originally needed a couple of days, but now it only took him two hours — the Qi Gathering Pill’s effects were seriously great.

“Challenge.”

Jun Changxiao declared.

The result was his third failure.

“Again!”

After cultivating another two hours, he attempted to break through once more, but failed for the fourth time. On his fifth attempt, he smoothly made a connection with his eleventh meridian.

Without any interest in the new strength, Jun Changxiao collapsed on the chair. Wiping his sweat, he complained, “There was a 50% success rate, but I still needed 5 attempts; my luck is really dogshit.”

Although he had promised not to use the system, Jun Changxiao was unable to break through using only his own strength. In the end, he used a Qi Gathering Pill as an auxiliary to reach Meridian Opening Stage Eleven.

He had really insisted on self-reliance… But since the Heaven’s had given him a system filled with items that would help him rapidly grow stronger, he would be stupid not to use it.

After consoling himself, Jun Changxiao felt much better.

Actually, what made him use the system was actually Lu Qianqian’s words from earlier. After all, he was not a rogue cultivator, but a sect head. Without such free time to cultivate, he needed to strengthen himself and the sect as soon as possible.

As for diligence?

It was important to have fine moral character, but one needed to keep the overall situation in mind.

Jun Changxiao opened the system store once more, and sure enough, the Qi Gathering Pill’s box had turned gray. It seemed that there was a limit of one per month.

He shook his head. “If I could purchase it infinitely, with daily speed increased 5x, even a pig could become a Martial Emperor.”

Martial Emperor: Motherfucker, are you looking down on me?

“Speaking of…” Jun Changxiao tapped his chin. “The description said that it was limited to use by the sect head. Does that mean there’s a separate pill for the disciples?”

He continued to read through the listed items and quickly found something interesting, called the Basic Disciple’s Qi Gathering Array. [1]

He clicked on the item.

[Item: Basic Disciple’s Qi Gathering Array

Effect: Once the formation has been set up, the 10m2 Qi Gathering Array will form. The spiritual energy inside the array is two times denser.

Duration: When activated

Price: 10 contribution points

Note: This item is limited to use by sect disciples. When activated, the array will consume 1 contribution point per 24 hours.]

Seeing the {Note}, Jun Changxiao grumbled, “A contribution point per day; this thing sure burns points.”

A point a day could not be considered a lot, but he only had 40 contribution points. After purchasing the array, he would only be able to maintain it for up to 30 days.

“Only the disciples can use it, so there isn’t much significance.”

Jun Changxiao did not plan to buy the array.

The system prompted, [If the disciples grow stronger, the sect grows stronger. The purchase recommendation for this item is five stars.]

Jun Changxiao rolled his eyes. “You aren’t recommending that I buy it, you’re just recommending that I should spend points.”

The system responded, [The system’s mission is to assist the host.]

“Alright.”

Jun Changxiao hesitated, then said, “I’ll trust you this time.”

[Ding! The host has spent 10 contribution points, obtaining Basic Disciple’s Qi Gathering Array x1. The item has been transported to the storage ring.]

[Ding! Sect Contribution: 30/100]

In his ring appeared a bag filled with little flags, complete with a small instruction manual.

Jun Changxiao was speechless. “What the fuck, why isn’t there a product warranty?”

“Sect Head!”

Just as he was planning to take out the array and study it, a disciple hurried inside. Panting, he said, “T-There’s people here to cause trouble!”

“What?”

Jun Changxiao patted his arm rest then angrily stood up. “Which person ate a bear’s heart and a leopard’s guts, daring to come to my Ironbone Unyielding Sect to cause trouble?!”

“Beat him for me! Beat him ruthlessly!”

Standing before the bright red gates of the Ironbone Sect was an angry young master in brocade clothes.

Several Meridian Opening Stage Four or Five subordinates were currently beating up a youth, who was lying on the ground. The youth’s clothing was tattered and his hair was disheveled, like a beggar.

“Motherfucker! A dirty beggar dares to steal our Cui Family’s pills, you sure got guts!”

The subordinate scolded as he hit.

The young master in brocade robes sneered, “Even though his cultivation isn’t much, he’s good at running. If I hadn’t brought people to chase him up this barred mountain, it might have been hard to capture him.”

“Continue the beating! Kill him for this young master!”

The subordinate listened to the command and stomped down with his feet.

His strength increased. Soon, the youth on the ground was so beaten and battered that blood was spilling from his mouth.

“Stop!”

At this moment, a clear voice could be heard.

The subordinate stopped, turning his head to look, only to see Jun Changxiao and several disciples walk out the gates.

“Eh?”

The young master looked at the signboard on the gates and chuckled, “It turns out that this barred mountain is actually the Ironbone Unyielding Sect’s.”

His voice was filled with disdain.

Jun Changxiao shot him a look, then glanced at the youth on the ground. He indifferently said, “This is my Ironbone Unyielding Sect’s domain; if you want to fight, fuck off to somewhere else.”

So it wasn’t that people were here to cause trouble for the sect, but that people were fighting at the entrance. It was even a case of a group ganging up on one person.

The young master exclaimed, “You’re telling me to fuck off?”

Looking at his servant, he snickered, “This small Ironbone Sect dares to make this young master fuck off? Are you insane? Are you stu—”

Bang!

A foot smacked him directly in the face. His features instantly crumpled and his body rose a foot off the ground, flying magnificently into the distance.

Putong!

The young master was flung more than ten meters, landing on the stone steps leading up the mountain, looking like he was about to roll off the mountain.

“Motherfucker.” Jun Changxiao put his leg down and stood straight. “What a load of nonsense.”
