The Struggle of a Weak Aristocrat in a Different World C6: Inspection

One more chapter later today. The schedule for this novel will be posted Sunday when another novel is released.

Our territory consists of a trading city and a large farmland surrounding it. From there to the south, there are a few quiet farming villages, and finally, there is a fishing village facing the shallow sea.

The purpose of this visit is to find or create something that can generate income outside of the trading city, and to spread the idea of transitioning to the Norfolk farming method.

“It’s time to go to the countryside. Chris-sama. Have you come up with any good ideas?”

When a beautiful, clear voice called out to me from behind, I felt tingles of dread, but also a sense of embarrassment.

“You can’t talk to me out of the blue! Yulis! We’re almost zero distance apart!”

“I didn’t think Chris-sama was that sensitive, but it can’t be helped, can it? Chris-sama can’t make my horse walk.”

That’s right. Yulis’s beloved horse, Black King, did not move a millimeter when I took the reins. When Yulis took over the reins, he began to walk forward with a rhythmically light gait that belied his huge body.

“Well, why don’t you ride in front of me, Yulis? It would be too much to pull the reins from behind me.”

“No, it’s not difficult at all. My Black King is smart enough so there’s no need to manipulate the reins so much.”

“No, it’s true that the reins are loose, but…”

“Then there is no problem. If you have time to waste talking, please try your best to learn the terrain of the territory.”

No, but we don’t have to get so close, do we? For me, it’s okay because I’m happy to finally feel Yulis’s immense breasts from this distance, which gives me a sense of happiness. As we talked about random things along the way, the farm village came into view.

“We’re finally here, it was farther than I expected. Traveling on horseback is tiring.”

“I see. I felt it happened so fast, but Chris-sama said it felt like a long time….”

Whoa! I can feel a black aura coming from Yulis! I can’t help but feel that the Black King is also angry, I have to do something!

“No, I think it’s just my age that makes it seem so long! I’m seven years younger than Yulis, so it’s normal for Yulis to feel shorter and me to feel longer!”

“I see. So that’s what Chris-sama says…”

Ugh, her aura is getting even stronger. I thought I was being helpful, but I must have offended her…

“I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to! It’s just that Yulis was clinging to me behind my back, and I was so nervous that it was as if time had stopped!”

The black aura seemed to have converged and a more relaxed aura appeared.

“Oh, well, I guess that’s just the way it is. Also, it’s impolite to bring up your age to a woman, so please try not to do it again.”

“Yes, yes.”

Somehow, I managed to get through it. As I was doing this, an old man with a white beard and a body that was noticeably toned for his age came out.

“Oh, it’s Lady Yulis and Chris! I’m so relieved to see that you two are still the same after all these years.”

“It’s been a long time since I’ve seen you, Chief. I’m surprised you’ve kept your muscles intact even though you’ve aged.”

I’ve known this man since I was a child, and I’ve seen him often. He is also a smart man who knows what’s going on in the area, which is unusual for a village chief, since he mentions Yulis’ name before mine.

“Ha-ha-ha! I’ve been cultivating the land as much as Lady Yulis allowed me to!”

“……Yulis. I’ve never heard of this area being cultivated.”

“I see. Well, I’ve already told you. So what is it?”

“You have to get permission from the lord.

“No, I’m in charge of it. Tell them about Norfolk farming.”

“Yes…….”

I wanted to question Yulis about her behavior, but I felt like I was stepping on a landmine, so I started talking about Norfolk farming with the village chief.

“Well…that’s the risk we take when we fail. If it doesn’t work, we’ll starve.”

“If it doesn’t work, I will provide you with food, and if you succeed, I will give you a small reward.”

“If that’s what you want, I’m willing to do it.”

After saying that much, the village head smiled.

“Are there any other crops that might grow in this area?”

When we asked him, the village chief said with a sullen face.

“There are some, but……well, I’ll let Chris take a look.”

He brought something quickly from his house.

“This was left behind by a lost traveler, but those who ate it suffered from terrible stomachaches. If you plant it in the field, it will grow very well.”

I looked fearfully at what the village chief held out to me.

“It’s a potato!”
